[Q] how to decrypt/reset my android device (4.4.2) - General Questions and Answers

Hi.
Some time ago i bought Lenovo K910 with android 4.4.2 and I encrypted it.
Currently I have some problems with Baranyi ROM (v11) and i want to upgrade it to newest version (v12.3).
The one problem I have is encryption. I cannot decrypt my phone nor reset it to factory default.
After I successfully do the factory reset from Power+Vol UP menu I do not see any changes, still my phone is encrypted, my data is there.
I cannot decrypt it from Settings menu – I can choose Encrypt device (this function is not greyed out) but it looks there is nothing under this button.
Is there any other method to decrypt/format/etc my phone because currently I cannot room encrypted device 

[Q] How do I restore Soft bricked SCH1535 from CM unofficial 4.4.2

I rooted my SCH 1535 and installed CM Version 11-20140215-UNOFFICIAL-d2vzw. Android 4.4.2 (Baseband: l535VRBLMD3) (Kernel:3.4.80-cm
It was working OK except in order to see my WiFi I had to reboot every time WiFi was turned off.
Plus I was having trouble updating ROMs with ROM Manager.
I had both TWRP & CM installed, although the phone defaulted to TWRP in recovery.
I downloaded seveeral CM ROMs via the CM updater in Settings > About Phone & wasn't able to flash.
So, I (stupidly) WIPED with TWRP
Now, I still have the CM KitKat ROM on my phone but when I try Play Store it starts & immediately closes.
Android Keyboard stops as soon as I boot up, so i can't log even into my Google account.
I'm pretty sure I'm no longer rooted & there's no recovery - in fact the Return, Menu & Volume buttons don't seem to work.
Most of my apps are gone except for Google & Samsung, but I can't log in.
I did do a nandroid backup & have Internal & Card backups on my PC as well as Odin.
So, my question is Should I try to restore to stock and start over? (What's the best way to do that from my build?)
or do I go for a KItKat ROM? (any suggestions?)
I want to make sure I have the proper recovery, bootloader (SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip ?)
I am wide open to suggestions on the best way to proceed. I'm really hesitant to try the Factory Data Reset - since I've heard that can brick a phone completely.
Thanks!

[Q] How do you wipe an lollipop android device that's already been encrypted?

It's my goal to wipe a second hand android device I received.
You used to be able to do this via the encryption option.
Though now that I am on Lollipop when I enable encryption the phone (2014 Moto x) restarts and doesn't do the full wipe like android used to. Though does come up with encryption enabled.
I assume this has to do with Lolipop having encryption enabled by default.
Before I get all answers telling me to do a factory reset. No a factory reset doesn't wipe a system it just repartitions it and gives new encryption keys.
Tried in safemode too. Nothing
Just getting a new encreyption key via a factory reset doesn't do what I want. That key could be recovered and the data still exists. That's why tools like truecrypt ot luks if you have experience take so long to encrypt.

can't decrypt the phone

Hi,
I had exchange instalation that required encryption.
after upgrading to Lollipop the device is no longer rooted, and to root it I have to enter recovery.
I can't enter recovery because the phone is encrypted.
so.. I removed the exchange, I removed it's manager authorisation also, and tried a hard reset via the menu + delete the data (that should remove encryption).
the reset didn't succeed. it derives to a bootloop with the first pic after restart.
also 3 bottoms hard reset didn't succeed.
any advice?
thx,
Moshe

Encryption Phone GEM-703L/GEM-702L

Hi there!
I've recently bought this great phone and I've successfully installed 703L rom to 702L. I'm now on B111 with TWRP (english for 5.1.1), UNIVERSAL-CUST-B111 and rooted.
I've tried to encrypt the phone as usual (Security > Encrypt Phone) but the phone simply reboots and stuck on huawei logo...
I get out from boot through a manual poweroff (keeping power button pressed > 5 seconds) and the phone restarts normally.
Now, has anyone encrypted successfully the phone? Is it a problem of 703L rom backporting to 702L or a problem (like others) of partitioning and missing sectors to store encryption data?
Thank you all!
