[Q] Data toggle widgets..

So I've done some research on this and couldn't find a clear answer. There are two types of data toggle widgets you can use to turn data on/off . One type will actually enable/disable mobile data. The other type will change the APN settings (for instance, Elixir widget adds/removes '-elixir' suffix to the APN settings) to indirectly control data feed on phone, but the mobile data stays on all the time.
My question is, would these data widgets that alter APN settings save battery? I'm guessing they wouldn't because data actually stays on and the phone would keep searching for data signal...
If the APN is disabled or can not connect because the information is invalid due to a name change, there is no data connection.
Either way, your battery will benefit significantly.

App\icon to toggle LTE\3G

Does anyone know of how i can set a direct activity to change the bubble settings of LTE, 3G and 2G located at Settings > More under Wifi > Mobile Networks ?
I want to be able to press a icon on my desktop that will toggle it from LTE and 3G

not a direct application but Power Toggles allows a direct shortcut to the network selection menu..so it's faster.. Even with root it can't change dirrectly. I had apps/widgets for this on my previous phone with 4.2 but didn't try them on 4.4.

[Q] Removing data icon when connected to Wifi?

I know I can hide it with a Rom but I want to hide it on a Stock rooted M8.
I haven't found that option in the xposed apps Gravity Box or Sense 6 Toolbox.
Anybody know how to hide that data icon when you are connected to Wifi?
I just found some kind of glitch
So after tinkering around with an app called 4G switcher, I've found a mode that allows you to make calls (have to disable assisted dialing) texts, and use data without displaying the data connection icon unless you are using it.
What I did was I switched the radio mode from LTE/CDMA+EvDo to LTE,CDMA.
this makes the phone think it's in GSM mode from what I saw in the app Lte discovery, and in the data settings where it says cdma or GSM/umts mode. Will post pics.

Wifi Tether / Mobile Hotspot toggle widget or shortcut?

I'm looking for a way to toggle the mobile hotspot off and on programmatically. New phone, stock, 5.1.1, and tethering works just fine via the quick settings. However, since it's not called using the native intent, locale/llama/tasker cannot start and stop it.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party app that will toggle this, or a shortcut, or the full intent path?
Thanks!
