I've unlocked HTC 8x from AT&T US. And now I use it in Lithuania, but I get very weak 2G signal. I installed windows 8.1 (developer preview) and did hard reset. But it didn't work. And there is no way to change the connection to 3g or 4g. It's hardware problem or just it has different bands?
By the way, how can I change phone language? There is only Spanish and US English.

I have TP2 CDMA version (Initially a US cellular phone i think)
I have Unlocked it (sim and CID) then installed the world phone rom as well.
Put a AT&T sim in and it works
But no 3g!! - Only edge 2g
The settings are already on the phone (with cilgular login)

You phone might not have compatible AT&T 3G bandwidth. Check your specs to see if you do have it.
I have recently received a Telus HTC Touch Pro 2 unlocked, running on the Rogers Wireless Network. Everything works accordingly after setting up the network settings, although it does not run in 3G mode. It works fine in EDGE mode, but the speed difference is fairly significant. I have been doing some indepth reading, although I have not been able to come across any answers on how to get the Rogers 3G mode to operate on the Telus version of the TP2. If anyone has any information as to whether or not it is capable of running 3G, and if so how to you enable the 3G capability?
The CDMA TP2 is not compatible with most gsm 3G services. There is no fix it has to do with the hardware radios.

I bought a XOOM 3G mz601 in italy from TIM to use between the US and Italy. It is supposedly unlocked (that's what they told me at the store). However, when I put my 3g sim card from AT&T (and also from TIM) in, it shows full bars but no internet connection is available.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you check if the APNs for AT&T and TIM are correctly configured?
That may be a reason for having strong signal and no data connectivity.

HTC 7 pro is supposed to support 3G speeds. I am currently with Rogers (Canada) and have a fully unlocked phone. It looks like my phone is the Euro version. No branding on it what so ever. My question, is it possible to re-configure the phone for Rogers network to attain 3G speeds? Everything else works, MMS\Phone\SMS\GPS etc. It all works. Just want 3G speeds.
I have looked at ##3282# settings, but I have no clue what all those mean and I am unable to make changes. There is a setting for "Network Type", when I change it to 3G only, I loose connection to the network (Rogers) no phone, etc. But when I switch it to 2G only, it connects back to the network (Rogers).

3G is a different technique than LTE.
LTE supported phones have a different modem. So 3G is not supported on you're phone model.

I have an HTC A9, 3/32 version. The problem is that the phone apparently is branded by HTC America and I am using it in Europe (the phone was bought from Europe). The 3G bands are different in US vs. Europe but here comes the tricky part: although the phone cannot connect to the 3G network, the carrier I use has only 3G and 4G coverage. All the calls are made using 3G (confirmed by the carrier) and while I am under 4G network I can use the phone without a problem. When only 3G network is available, the phone shows no connectivity at all.
When trying to manually select 3G only (WCDMA option as it appears in the settings) the phone is still showing 4G as connection.
Is this problem solvable through software change? Reset is not working.
Another curious thing, I did receive all the OTA updates. (last one about 2 weeks ago).
