Hi. I'm from Sri Lanka and I bought a HTC 8x from Canada. It's had Rogers network.. It is unlocked. But there's no 3g in sim settings. How do I get 3g option on my phone? I'm using 2g. Help me please..
3G is a different technique than LTE.
LTE supported phones have a different modem. So 3G is not supported on you're phone model.

How can I get a 3G signal on ATT or Tmobile Carrier in USA? I was able to get 3G signal in Asia.. Why not from ATT or Tmobile..?
Any hint to fix this ?
Because they are both using 3G bands that aren't supported by Desire S. You can't do anything about it.
I have bought a Verizon xoom 4g and brought it to the emirates. the network here is 3g and it will not activate. Is there any way to make it work on this netwok ?
It is not 4G or 3G but CDMA technology.
This is not GSM unit that works everywhere after unlocking.
hi just purchased a USA htc win phone ,does anyone know if 4g will work in UK ,if so witch provider cheers
no body tried then
not much happening here then
Not sure
I have just bought from USA a HTC One M8 T-Mobile 0P6B140 which I have unlocked. It is working fine but although it shows it is on Vodafone UK 4G, using the app NET CHECK it reports 3G HSDPA/HSUPA 57mbit. The only thing that I haven't got working is MMS. I have entered the APN details for my contract Vodafone sim which I found on the net, and there are various, but it tells me it cannot send and to contact mobile op. for settings.
As for the 4G, I live in a rural area it may be that Vodafone are transmitting on band 20 (800 MHz) and this phone doesn't support that. Vodafone only have the 800 and 2600 frequencies, band 7 and 20. My phone uses 3 (1800), 4 (AWS). 7(2600), 13 (not sure). I might be wrong with these.
Overall I am pleased, the phone is superbly built and it gives me something to think about!
I have the mms working fine, it was just the APN/MMS settings. So it is just the 4G not working but I can stream video from my synology ds214play with the 3g HSDPA/HSUPA.
Hi, LTE support depends on which carrier version you are bringing to Europe. My Verizon version did not work because it supports only "non-European" LTE Bands.
Now that I am using the AT&T version I can use full LTE in Europe (except the 800mhz band, which doesn´t matter for my country).
Be also aware that AT&T and obviously T-Mobile change the firmware so the phone will display 4G when in reality it is on 3.5/3.75G and LTE when it is on real 4G.
Cheers,
T.
Hey guys,
So my Nexus 5 stopped working the other day, and I sent it for repairs. It's come back now and I got a new SIM. Airtel 4G here in New Delhi, India. The problem is, it will only show me a 2G connection/no signal at times. I don't know what to do. The SIM works in other phones perfectly well. I've tried going to *#*#4636#*#* and changing to WCDMA only. Doesn't work. What is the alternative solution guys?
The phone was bough in the USA but before it got repaired, 3G worked flawlessly. So at least that should work, if not 4G.
Thanks,
Crazysah
No one has had this problem? Or no one knows a solution?
Hi, Airtel as I see operate in 2G (GSM, EDGE), 3G (HSPA+) and 4G (TD-LTE band 40). But Nexus 5 (USA model) D820 doesn't support TD-LTE (band 40), so for sure you can't connect to 4G. But 2G and 3G should be ok. You can reset network settings and check again.

Yes. 3G should work at least. But it isn't and that's the problem. Before repairing it, it used to work with my mom's Vodafone 3G connection. What's the solution here?
Can you try to restart and after that change to "GSM auto (PRL)" from *#*#4636#*#* menu? Are you tested other device with this SIM in the same location ?

Tried that. With no luck. I changed it to GSM auto (PRL) and stayed on that menu. Still showing E with full signal strength.
Any idea guys?
Nobody at all has any solution to this?

Is there anyway to enable UMTS 3G on this version of phone. I have used the hidden LG app and selected auto select GSM/WCMDA/LTE but I cannot get any 3G service. All I get is 4G/4GLTE or EDGE and nothing else.
2G service will be stopping soon here and I won't be able to use the phone when in EDGE mode when that happens.
I am on Vodafone in AU and live in poor service 4G area but good service 3G when I used my old Note3. I have also tried a Telstra 4G SIM and the same happens.
Looking at spec for this phone it is radio supported for 2G/3G and 4G but I suspect AT&T may have locked out 3G service.
I cannot find a non AT&T ROM anywhere so I suspect I am stuck with AT&T for the moment which I suspect this may fix the issue. But any help would be appreciated.

Strange, because using the same app I'm able to change the network mode from 2G to 3G with ease. And it works well.
Phone is OK
OK the AT&T V10 has no 900Mhz support but has 850Mhz support and 2100Mhz support
After many contacts with Vodafone AU, I found someone that knows their stuff. They tell me coastal areas have 2100Mhz and inland where I am is 900Mhz, so problem not solved but understood. But if I have a Telstra AU SIM they support 850Mhz which this model has.
