Port over the HTC M7 keyboard? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

okay, so I have been looking online trying to find the keyboard apk from the HTC One M7. I have found some people who have posted it but it doesn't appear to work. Maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe it just will not work on a Samsung device. Can anyone help me you try to get the M7 keyboard to work on the S6?
IsIs it as easy as flashing a zip or running an apk to install it or do I need to place it in a system directory like I have read other places? The keyboard that comes with the S6 is OK but I just have trouble typing and the prediction on the keyboard that came on the M7 was far better. Even the keyboard on the M8 I didn't like. Can anyone help me with this I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

You'd probably be better putting this in Q&A

Go QA and ask 4 M9
Sent from a mobile gadget.

So if I want the apk from the m9 or the m7, what would be the process. I still have the m7 if I need to pull something off of it...but if you say the m9 is better is there an apk for the m9''s keyboard and how do I get it on the s6?
Thanks

Go to the M7 QA and ask if someone can give you the keyboard apk and you'll probably need to stick it in system
Either way, i'll be frank, it doesn't belong on the S6 board.
I really don't mean to be posting links, but even a google search led me to this http://www.droidviews.com/enjoy-htc-blinkfeed-launcher-and-keyboard-on-your-android-device/
I haven't tried it, because I don't need/want it - so you do this at your own risk.

I know this thread is old but I ran into the same problem - after some researching I discovered that the p5001 is actually a "cloned" Coolpad 7295C, if you pop the back cover open and look at the lower left corner you should see faint coolpad model number "7295C" - search aliexpress, ebay or something similar and you'll find lots of cheap parts. good luck !

Could we able to design/customize theme for Z1?

As we already know, in the Z1 newest update could able to change the theme and the nevagation bar, but why don't we just customize it for ourselves?
but is there any method to get this done?
because I tried for a long time with 7z(I know it is a bit stupid) however it still can not make any change for that, so could anybody help me or maybe help yourself to get this done for getting an awesome, amazing theme
Thank you, and sorry for my extremely poor English.

Are you rooted? Install Xposed Framework... then you're laughing. Lots of add ons for it, where you can do such a thing.

Sorry, my Z1 haven't root yet, as it is a expensive phone, and I wont get any money to buy a new one if I did something wrong during rooting my phone T.T
But is it even possible that without root, I could get this things done?

I'm not sure, rooting really isn't hard to be honest. Very simple guides now. Even with bricking it you can get it back.

I know it is extremely sample as I have already rooted my previous phone Xperia Arc S, I know it is easy, and also as I checked with this Z1, it have dual recovery, it is even better to get all the things work even better
Also I does really know the benefits of rooting the phone, especially everyone care about it also me care which is the battery life, and also I could able to test the feeling of 4.4. But I am tired on backing up my data, as I got only 4CB microscope card and my computer HDD is almost filled which I could not find any place could able to storingy data, and I don't even have enough money to get 32GB microSD card for my Z1.......
Sorry for out of topic and sorry for releasing my emotion here, maybe just ignore it...because of my awful English grammar and words
So let just talk about this topic, if any suggestion could able to do without root
@The-Hulk
Mate, please move this thread to general or Q&A.
Guys , why don't you read XDA rules and this topic is already opened on many threads.
All your answers you can find in ten threads (at least).
Yes we can MOD themes and we are doing that at the moment.
Just use search button...
At the moment there are some issues but as soon as we find a better way we'll MOD 4.3 themes and release them.
Jfxperias already posted few themes and MysticEnforcer already MOD one of them to work on unrooted devices.

4.3 themes will be MODed soon...

In the future it will be possible.
It would be quicker to post a sticky about the things we currently cannot do with the M8.
Thanks for the responses. I like the phone but hate all the extra crap they put on it. I want it to be stock so I can decide what to install.
Not in the near future... A lot needs to happen to make this possible

There is no timeline to be put on this. It will happen as soon as a way is found. the M7 was released end of August, and S-OFF wasn't achieved until right around October. It may be soon, it may take months. Its up to how well the community supports the dev's along with a bit of luck.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make just the soft keys appear like stock/nexus keys, softkeyz currently is not compatible but does gravity box or any app out there work for what I'm trying to do any help would be really appreciated.

Sense 5 or 6 Keyboard for non HTC devices

Hello,
I was looking for the keyboard (which is called HTC IME, I suppose) for non HTC devices. I know someone has ported Sense 3.5's keyboard before so I think it's doable.
I've tried my best in searching the forum and internet but I couldn't find anything. HTC released the app, yes, but only for HTC devices.
Is there anywhere for someone to guide me to install the least sense's keyboard, if it's impossible is there any keyboard that looks alike it?
Thanks.
It's on Google Play

yes it is but it's incompatible.. I guess it's only for HTC devices?
Not sure. You could ask someone to give you the apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392504

Thank you for your response, although I could install it, I get the error this app is incompatible with you device when I hit the keyboard settings in the settings tab. So I guess this was for only HTC. Thanks though! =)
Up up?
Seems it's not possible. It's only compatible with HTC devices, so you're out of luck.

would it be really hard to port it? I mean it's just a keyboard.
Not sure to be honest. Most HTC software relies on the HTC framework, which is very difficult to port, and just not worth it. Otherwise you'd see Sense ports on a lot of non-HTC devices.
bummer, thanks for trying and responding though. =)
Even though I couldn't find any original sense keyboard, I found one that looks just like it, and maybe, even better. So for anyone who'll come by to this post searching for what I've searched so far, here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/themed-swiftkey-keyboard-v4-t2780250

[Q] How can I shrink my display?

Hello
Is there any magical way to take a 5" phone (for example) and make it display only as a 4" (or smaller)? So it will be more easily handled with one hand?
My HTC Desire S is dying, and I realize that all the reasonable smartphones are at least 4.3" which is too big for me. So if I can make the HTC One act like a 3.7" smartphone (as seen in the lame illustration I've attached) I'd be veerryy happy!!
Do you know An app? a launcher? Some ROM with these kind of display tweaks?
Tnx
There are some xposed modules that can give you this. I believe they are called one handed mode or something around that.
I would check but I don't have xposed installed atm
Frameworks ???

I am not into this thing of frameworks. I guess it requires root, right? How can I check if it will work for my device? (I still try to choose between HTC One (M7) and LG G2)

Xposed works for most devices and does require root. I wouldn't know whether it works for your device or not. I usually make a nandroid backup in a custom recovery before I try installing xposed.
I am willing to assist you in any way, just let me know if you need anything.

I'll try to find out and it might be the overbalance point between the two phones I am considering.

Also, one thing is, try to get used to the larger screen. I know its hard to use one handed, but you might get used to the larger screen

You could get the xperia z3 compact. It has the same exact specs of the full 5.2 inch Z3, but it has a 4.6 screen.
Don't know if that helps, but they are the only ones making smaller phones without cutting corners on the specs. (Only thing is it goes from a 1080p screen to a 720p, but in all honesty I use a 4.7 inch 720p screen on my optimus G and it looks just fine. I don't really see that as cutting corners. 720p would save you battery too.)

I'm afraid even 4.6 is much too much for me. I guess I will just look for the phone with the beat battery life (at a reasonable size that can fit my pocket), and try to shrink the display. I a late-night web digging, I found this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hamzah.onehandmode.premium
It will require root and xposed framework, but it will give some solution....
