Does anyone knows if the lg wcd100 qi charger works with the S6? It should work but I'm asking this because of the dock.

Great! So I'll buy one

I asked when I bought the phone, since it was the only qi charger in stock. Sales guy said he'd tried himself, and couldn't get it to work. Third hand info, so take it with a pinch.
Did you end up getting it and does it work? I'm looking to get the same one but want to make sure it works because no returns.
It works........but only with the phone upside down. Not a problem for me as I only charge the phone, don't care about dock facilities etc.
It should work

Don't have one to test for you.
Upside down? Weird. But the entire point of a charger with that design is surely that the screen is visible? What if you have screen rotation turned on?

Hi guys,
I received my Nexus 5 today at work, then cycled home and took the phone with me without any accessories.
Come bed time I tried to plug in all micro-usb I had from previous phones/tablets/hdd but none of them really slips into the micro-usb slot. It appears to be bloody tight and obviously I don't want to force it. I'll try tomorrow with the original cable.
Has any of you experienced a similar problem?

Marco

Nope - my old micro-USB cables connect fairly well. Though I did notice that older chargers charge the N5 really slow (even chargers that charged my previous Galaxy S4 quickly).
The N5's OEM charger and the S4's OEM charger can charge my phone up very quickly (about 2 hours to get fully charged from 30% or less)
Similar yes... but mine is the other way around. My N5 cable is really tight, where as all my others slide right in

I notice that too with the charging. I read everywhere on how the device charges so quickly, where as mine was taking ages. When I use the supplied kit, nice and fast

take a look at the rating on the chargers you have. I have 3-4 that are 1amp, 2 that are pathetic at 0.5amp... and the Nex5 one it 1.2amp...
hi, someone know if this charger is working with nexus 4?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QI-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item3f3363ba76
I have the orange and black one, you just need a charger that states its qi standard or complies with it.
Mine doesnt charge at as it gets warm (tickle charge), the temp sensor must stop it charging, this is the second ebay qi that has done it,looking into a offical one instead
I have black+black one and it works just fine with original nexus 4 adapter. You gotta put the phone on the exact location to prevent heating and "tickle charge". If I do it right, phone get charged kinda fast, not as fast as with wall charger but faster than with USB. I bought it from here. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Black-Portable-Ultra-Slim-Qi-Receiver-Adapter-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Pad-for-Lumia-920-Nexus-4/1502839948.html
I also got one. It works fine with N4. I am using original wall charger.

Just received one of these today! Seems to work pretty well - you know when you've positioned it correctly because you get audio feedback. Seems to charge OK, looking at the battery graph.
On the back of the box in the specs, it says "conversion 72%". I guess that means you lose 28% of its charging potential via wireless, compared to wired?
Still, it feels fast, and does its job.

Looks the same, though the one referenced in the first post comes with a 15cm and a 150cm USB-micro USB cables. It looks like you just get the Qi disc here.
perfect, i'm gonna buy it in this day! thanks
Since the N9 does not have Qi wireless charging, it would be super if a cover with qi enabled. This exists for other devices and I hope for this device too. Any ideas?
To answer myself: You could of course buy a QI reciever and a slim case: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...ireless Charging Receiver film for micro-USB
If only something like that exists with a micro SD slot along with being able to mod the N9 to have Qi charging. Problem solved.
That doesn't work with most tablets given it's low output. I can test it when my tablet arrives this week to confirm.
I can confirm the microusb adapter pad does charge. I did a few %. Seems to work fine but cannot comment on overall speed. 650mah output listed on the back of my Qi pad adapter.

If you plan on continued use of the Qi adapter could you report on it's usefulness beyond your initial impression? It's nice to know it works but is it worth getting?
Any suggestion as to brand is also appreciated.

And a usb port for OTG
Will the tablet stop charging when reaching 100% or do we risk damaging tablet? Is this controlled by tablet or charger?

It does NOT natively support Qi charging. The Nexus 9 uses a nVidia SoC, not Qualcomm (or the Samsung Exynos CPU). None of the current nVidia SoC's support wireless charging. Attempting to use one of those jankety cases with Qi support would be a laughing matter. Call me in a month when that 6700mAh battery has finally finished charging.
There are Qi receiver available charging with 1000 mAh. And 6 hours of charging would be really ok for me.
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead but I need some help.
I looked at a few of the links posted above and it looks like you can ADD Qi wireless charging to the device with a sick on pad that inhabits the micro USB port permanently. Is that right? When this is plugged into the stock USB port can you still have things plugged in via OTG like flash drives, keyboards, etc?
I don't care if it charges slow just so long as it keeps up with demand from the tablet. This would be a fixed installation in a truck as the headunit so it would ALWAYS have power when the vehicle is on.
---------- Post added at 06:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 PM ----------
Specifically, I'm looking at this model listed below. The Nexus 9 is a "narrow side down" USB device and this one CLAIMS to output 1000mAh. Would that be enough to keep up with demand?

First day with the classic, I got home just now and have my spare moto 360 charger sitting on the desk. Put the S2 on there to see if it would charge, it sits just fine and I would imagine that it's lined up but it appears that it charged it for a second and then doesn't continue charging. The 360 charger will remain lit as a device on there is being charged but the watch doesn't accept the charge. Anyone tried it with any other Qi chargers? Don't tell me it's some proprietary crap.
Havent had much luck with my Gear S2. I have to take the straps off to get it to lay flat on any Qi pad. Official Samsung Qi pad will charge for a second or two before it starts flashing blue and the watch stops charging. The cheap pad I purchased from Amazon doesn't do anything at all when I place my watch on it.
So I took apart my cheap charge pad and took the coil out. If I rest the watch directly on the coil it actually charges but it gets very hot after just a few minutes. Guess we have to wait for Samsung to start selling new docks or for a 3rd party to make one strong enough to power the coil in the S2.
It would seem that the S2 does not actually use Qi, or some proprietary variant. For me it's charging neither on the Moto 360 charger nor on various Qi charging pads from Ikea that I have.
Not my video but this guy says it works with moto 360 charger

It doesn't, and the video does not prove the opposite. It just shows that someone places a S2 onto the Moto360 charger and that charger and S2 recognize each other. This is what everyone can see, but as said, the S2 is not charged actually.
I would comment on the video if it wouldn't require G+ membership.
This one shows a guy using another wireless charger.

And that guy is as stupid as the other one because in his video you can even SEE that it doesn't charge!
BTW, he's also just as stupid as his Swabian dialect. And yes, I am allowed to say that, because I'm from Germany as well.
Just have a closer look, especially when he places the S2 onto the Samsung charging pad. You see how the charge indicator icon on the S2 appears and disappears right away. Then he swipes down so that you can see the icon again. And now you see that the little flash in the battery icon (which is on when the watch actually charges) is not there. So no charging.
Just because someone is able to upload something to YT does not mean he/she is right. Or smart.

The standard charger that came with the s2.
Maybe it wasn't explained well. The watch just set nicely on the charger vertically and laying against the charge part of the charger. The strap is not close to anything ... not even close to an issue

They're talking about using the s2 with other qi chargers. There's not a problem getting it to charge on the included charger.

So... Yeah. It looks like everyone just assumed it would support Qi, since that was the standard that Samsung supported before the newest phones released this year (that supports WPC and Qi).
Looks like they may have went in a different direction entirely with the S2. This just gets better and better...

Unfortunately they didn't state what's the reason why standard Qi chargers don't work. They just confirmed they don't work...
Nice find anyway...
@chemaster: You might want to re-read the thread...
I'm not saying you guys are wrong about the charger but the manufacturer is supposed to say use with the supplied charger only. But here is a reviewer on AC that says the charger that came with the s2 is qi.

haha yeah i am from austria and i loled.
just got my gear s2 today and tried it with tylt charger, although just holding it against the back side and trying to find a spot where it will charge. but it did not. i also got the fast wireless charger from samsung today and it seems to work for a few seconds and then loose the connection and stops charging. sometimes after more than 10 or more seconds. so maybe it just recognizes the charger, but it seems like it gets a charge for some time and then stops.
i have a few other qi chargers at home from ikea and other and will try those as well and will report back. would be awesome to have some more options to actually charge the watch than just the charger that comes with it and no replacement to buy from samsung.
that was one of the best things of the sony smartwatch 3, to charge it anywhere you could possibly imagine.
Edit:
so i just got home and tested all of my other qi chargers. the ikea lamp charger does not work nor does the adata CE700.
but i noticed one strange/cool thing: the original nexus charger for the N5 in fact does work perfektly. i put the watch on and they connect and stay connected and i just saw it charged from 95% to 96% so far no heat or anything.
so i guess its qi compatible after all, but i don't get it that some or better to say a few will work and most of them not.
cheers

Uhh this thread is about using a charger other then the gear s2 charger, but you said your using the stock charger? We know it charges just fine on the charger it came with we talking about using other QI or wireless chargers.
---------- Post added at 10:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:57 PM ----------
I have both a moto 360 and gear s2. I have swapped chargers and my findings are as follows.
The 360 works great on the charger of the gear s2. it charges at normal speed and works without any issues.
The Gear S2 does seem to charger slower or stop and start charging when being placed on the moto 360 charger, but that all seems to be due to size. The larger diameter of the moto 360 holds the watch higher up on the charging pad. When I place a spacer to lift the gear s2 high up on the charger it seems to work just fine. I think it's all about placement.
And for those trying the stupid Samsung wireless charger and getting a flashing blue light. It does that with the phone that's supposed to be on the charger and the is threads with pages and pages of complaints about that issue. I can only imagine that using this small watch on it will only make it more prone to do what it already does. So I don't want to even rate that!

No, it doesn't. The original charger for the Nexus 7 et al behaves exactly like all other wireless chargers:
It charges for some seconds then stops (in this case flashing a red LED)
I guess that the "sweet-spot" for charging in the S2 is so small (and elevated through the bent-down strap holders) that is could be charged on QI pads but doesn't due to its very (non-flat) shape... just my 2cts

but about the n5 charger (maybe you mean another one) i mean the magnetic square one. it will actually charge on it. i had to find the right spot, but it did actually charge. i can make a video if you want

I looked at the thread and it says I need a 9v2a charger. A search on ebay in the UK brings up only car plug in chargers.
Is there a brand you can recommend?
The huawei website doesn't have any help on it.
Could not find anything in the UK but I did find this supplier in Hong Kong. Does it look suitable?
Until this arrives am I ok to use my Sony 5v 1500mA micro usb charger? Or straight off a computer usb?

You are right to use any USB. Ideally at least 1a other fast chargers may also boost charging speeds but prolly not quite as fast.
