I have finally found the phone I want to buy. Found a great deal but without a charger.
Would a Samsung s7 quick charger work as a quick charger for the mate 8?
If not please could you guys help specify what type of charger I need to buy for quick charging? I'm in the UK
Thank you once again

Unfortunately, it does not recognize it as a fast charger.
Thanks for the input
I looked at the thread and it says I need a 9v2a charger. A search on ebay in the UK brings up only car plug in chargers.
Is there a brand you can recommend?
The huawei website doesn't have any help on it.
Could not find anything in the UK but I did find this supplier in Hong Kong. Does it look suitable?
Until this arrives am I ok to use my Sony 5v 1500mA micro usb charger? Or straight off a computer usb?
Thanks again for your help
You are right to use any USB. Ideally at least 1a other fast chargers may also boost charging speeds but prolly not quite as fast.

That charger looks like the one. But it may very well be fake. I run a small online USB meter

Since the N9 does not have Qi wireless charging, it would be super if a cover with qi enabled. This exists for other devices and I hope for this device too. Any ideas?
To answer myself: You could of course buy a QI reciever and a slim case: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...ireless Charging Receiver film for micro-USB
If only something like that exists with a micro SD slot along with being able to mod the N9 to have Qi charging. Problem solved.
That doesn't work with most tablets given it's low output. I can test it when my tablet arrives this week to confirm.
I can confirm the microusb adapter pad does charge. I did a few %. Seems to work fine but cannot comment on overall speed. 650mah output listed on the back of my Qi pad adapter.

If you plan on continued use of the Qi adapter could you report on it's usefulness beyond your initial impression? It's nice to know it works but is it worth getting?
Any suggestion as to brand is also appreciated.
I bought this qi receiver from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JIN22JM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It says it's charging for a few seconds, but then it stops... It's useless
Anyone know of a qi receiver that works with N9?

And a usb port for OTG
Will the tablet stop charging when reaching 100% or do we risk damaging tablet? Is this controlled by tablet or charger?

Yep, I pegged it in another thread. This dude IS a spammer.
Does the Nexus 9 even support QI? I guess not.

It does NOT natively support Qi charging. The Nexus 9 uses a nVidia SoC, not Qualcomm (or the Samsung Exynos CPU). None of the current nVidia SoC's support wireless charging. Attempting to use one of those jankety cases with Qi support would be a laughing matter. Call me in a month when that 6700mAh battery has finally finished charging.
There are Qi receiver available charging with 1000 mAh. And 6 hours of charging would be really ok for me.
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead but I need some help.
I looked at a few of the links posted above and it looks like you can ADD Qi wireless charging to the device with a sick on pad that inhabits the micro USB port permanently. Is that right? When this is plugged into the stock USB port can you still have things plugged in via OTG like flash drives, keyboards, etc?
I don't care if it charges slow just so long as it keeps up with demand from the tablet. This would be a fixed installation in a truck as the headunit so it would ALWAYS have power when the vehicle is on.

Specifically, I'm looking at this model listed below. The Nexus 9 is a "narrow side down" USB device and this one CLAIMS to output 1000mAh. Would that be enough to keep up with demand?

samsung sales reps are as clueless as most retail store reps. you can probably find better info by searching the net.
this should work....
http://store.androidcommunity.com/samsung-micro-usb-2a-travel-charger/5A17A14236.htm
-nevermind, its not the same.
The fast charger has dual voltage output. One of the outputs is 9v. I'm fairly sure this is the fast charge element.
Doesn't matter how high the mA rating is for the 5v chargers they will not trigger the fast charge process.
I'm gonna keep looking and post here when I find something!
Scroll to the bottom of this page and there are links to the Quick Charge 2.0 adapter manufacturers.

Step 1 - look at the charger that came with your Note 4. If you don't have one, ask someone who does.
Step 2 - locate part number printed on the charger.
Step 3 - Google said part number.
Is this not it?

Absolutely not. This is just a regular charger. Rapid charging is not the same thing as adaptive fast charging. Rapid charging is just a function of the 2amp output, vs 0.5amp on old school usb chargers. Rapid charging is 4+ years old technology, and is the standard charger you find almost everywhere.
Ah this really sucks, i had one nicked a few days ago in a hostel in Romania, i will settle for unoffical if anyone has found one?
I think these are both on backorder until November 4th, but it gives you a place to start.

The Samsung part # is EP-TA20JWEUSTA
here are some compatible ones in stock
These should be compatible with Samsung's adaptive quick charging and are Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 compatible.

Register your Phone with Samsung.. they will send you a 50% off coupon. Use this to buy as many OEM batteries as you wish.. $20 is cheap for factory battery.
EDIT. Sry I was speaking about the battery rather than the charging cable. But you should also be able to gr the cable from Samsung as well with the coupon code
Are we able to use the Note 4 charger on other things like Bluetooth and such?
Wondering if it would damage them from charging too fast if it does.
Where can I purchase a fast charger for the honor 8? Also will the Samsung fast charger work with the honor 8?
Fast charger comes out of the box with Honor 8 why do you need it?, u can not use Samsung fast charger on Huawei phone.
apparently at the time being there is none, although i bet you could get it from China, but best not get things that we are not sure about its originality! I am waiting for someone to sell their fast carger too..
Best option is to buy a genuine one from eBay. It is the only place so far you can get a true huawei quick charge.
Huawei mate 8 have the same charger, here's mine from AliExpress http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69099182&postcount=14 link in that thread. Works with no issues at all.
Is there a car cigarette lighter plug in one from a previous phone that also works with fast charging? 5V 2A wall chargers work fine and my friend's LG G4 charger did as well. Neither was using Fast Charge, but AIDA64 said they were charging at ~2A which got me a decent amount of juice in 30 minutes anyway.

I bought the Aukey USB Wall Charger with Dual Quick Charge 3.0 Ports for Smart phones and compared it side by side at different battery levels against the original charger using the Satechi USB-C Power Meter. In every case the volts/amps matched. It has two ports and is sometimes on sale for $11. The Amazon description seems to suggest that it is limited to 2.4 Amps, but the unit itself it says that it goes up to 3A.
Thx for reply
Can you tell me link amazon, adapter and cable .

It requires a type A to type C cable, just like the one that came with my original adapter. I normally look for what cables Benson Leung or Nathan K recommend, although since this is QC 3 and not USB-C charging protocol it may not matter so much. In any case, I've been using one of the cables from an Aukey 5 pack which can be Googled on Amazon using B01B634WNK . They don't appear to have a problem with the wattage, but they are somewhat stiff (since they are braided) so you may prefer some other kind.
---------- Post added at 09:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:27 AM ----------
I should mention that I would expect *any* certified QC 3.0 charger with sufficient output range to perform in a similar manner, since it's probably just working with the QC 3 built into the Snapdragon 821, not something particular about the Le Pro 3. But this is the unit that I happened to test.
I can vouch for the Aukey 5 pack USB-C as well. Very sturdy.
If you want the original, LeMall sells leeco branded cables under accessory. Not sure whether it's any better than aukey though

Hello
can someone share what are the optimal specs that car charger for note 9 should have?
i am looking for chip and small car charger but that has optimal spec for charging fast.
thanks
QC 2.0 charger, Samsung's own adaptive fast charger or wireless. I'd recommend Anker if you can still find QC 2.0 chargers by them. Or their batteries with USB charging or wireless like the new Tesla charger.
Hello and thanks for the answer.
what is the difference between QC2 and samsung adaptative ? this means also that QC3 is usable? i have read somewhere that are chargers that "talk" to the phone to discover the best current to apply....
thanks
Note9 only supports QC 2.0 unless something changed. Some people complain but I don't like charging my phone fast unless I have to and 2.0 is plenty fast. It is less wear on the battery, which is sealed, and I don't want a bulging sealed phone and for it to last 2 years.
---------- Post added at 11:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:23 AM ----------
Adapative charger should've came in the box. I also got a charger when I caught the DEX pad on sale @ Samsung for $37.50, $40 after tax.
for example EP-LN930B is the right car charger for note 9? i have searched but there are a plenty of them from samsung on the market..
