Hi guys,
I received my Nexus 5 today at work, then cycled home and took the phone with me without any accessories.
Come bed time I tried to plug in all micro-usb I had from previous phones/tablets/hdd but none of them really slips into the micro-usb slot. It appears to be bloody tight and obviously I don't want to force it. I'll try tomorrow with the original cable.
Has any of you experienced a similar problem?
Regards,
Marco

Nope - my old micro-USB cables connect fairly well. Though I did notice that older chargers charge the N5 really slow (even chargers that charged my previous Galaxy S4 quickly).
The N5's OEM charger and the S4's OEM charger can charge my phone up very quickly (about 2 hours to get fully charged from 30% or less)
Similar yes... but mine is the other way around. My N5 cable is really tight, where as all my others slide right in

I notice that too with the charging. I read everywhere on how the device charges so quickly, where as mine was taking ages. When I use the supplied kit, nice and fast

take a look at the rating on the chargers you have. I have 3-4 that are 1amp, 2 that are pathetic at 0.5amp... and the Nex5 one it 1.2amp...

Out of curiosity has anyone else had an issue with keeping the power cable connected snugly to the phone? I've been noticing that my power cable is barely staying connected to the phone and even the slightest of pressure on it pops the cable right out.
cant say that i have.. mine stays firmly snapped in.
suggestion: plug it in, then tuck the wire under the phone, then set the phone on top of it, so it holds on to it.
or
get a new charger? i have my old charger from my Milestone next to my bed, it works just as well. most chargers from htc, motorola, and other galaxy devices fit in also.
Yeah new cable or charger should do the trick

I faced this issue once with captivate. One of the third party cables was sitting properly. So I feel a new cable/charger should set yours right.

Same here, although I realized my charger had a hairline crack. I bought a third party charger that has the thicker end to it where it connects and it works great

My first cable that came with the phone broke within a month or two. I bought some new cables and now my phone will not charge half of the time
I find that the HTC cables fit better than the samsung ones. I threw away my samsung cable because it would stop charging halfway through the night.
I believe when you buy the infuse, depending how long ago, more recently made infuses had an upgraded cable. I know cuz I've had about 10 of em the the stock cable you want is labeled "U4". Stays in there real snug. The other cable "T..." is a piece of junk. It bricked my phone multiple times due to disconnecting.

Anybody found a cable that will charge and do data transfer?
---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:54 PM ----------
Ive found plenty that will charge but wont data xfer.
Mine did after it was accidentally yanked out several times. I just use 3rd-party microUSB cables now, which all fit fine (but the original cable doesn't).
hi, someone know if this charger is working with nexus 4?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QI-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item3f3363ba76
I have the orange and black one, you just need a charger that states its qi standard or complies with it.
Mine doesnt charge at as it gets warm (tickle charge), the temp sensor must stop it charging, this is the second ebay qi that has done it,looking into a offical one instead
I have black+black one and it works just fine with original nexus 4 adapter. You gotta put the phone on the exact location to prevent heating and "tickle charge". If I do it right, phone get charged kinda fast, not as fast as with wall charger but faster than with USB. I bought it from here. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Black-Portable-Ultra-Slim-Qi-Receiver-Adapter-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Pad-for-Lumia-920-Nexus-4/1502839948.html
I also got one. It works fine with N4. I am using original wall charger.

Just received one of these today! Seems to work pretty well - you know when you've positioned it correctly because you get audio feedback. Seems to charge OK, looking at the battery graph.
On the back of the box in the specs, it says "conversion 72%". I guess that means you lose 28% of its charging potential via wireless, compared to wired?
Still, it feels fast, and does its job.

Looks the same, though the one referenced in the first post comes with a 15cm and a 150cm USB-micro USB cables. It looks like you just get the Qi disc here.
perfect, i'm gonna buy it in this day! thanks
Has anyone found an aftermarket cable that is 10 feet and can do adaptive charging for the note 4?
This one is a great sturdy cable, has a very snug connection to phone, and works with Adaptive charging: http://goo.gl/9i9AJd

Just tested the three 10ft cables I have and they all work, as well as every other cable I tried. Its the adapter that does the charging. Two 10ft came from a convenience store, and one from Big Lots. also the short cables that came with various backup batteries work. Now if i could find a fast charge capable backup battery.
EDIT: After actually leaving one of the 10ft cables hooked to my phone, It does not fast charge it. The popup comes up, but after almost an hour the battery has only risen like 5%. I will actually have to thoroughly test the other cords over the next few days. But still, the adapter does the charging, I guess the resistance of the wire comes into play, cause the stock cable is way thicker than any other cable i have except for 2 short ones.
Is that one linked thick too, if it really does work with fast charging, I will buy it, but it looks just like the ones I have.
EDIT 2:unplugged it and plugged the other one in and the phone has risen 25% in 30 min, so I am at a loss.

Correct. It's the adapter that enables the fast charging when used with a phone that supports it. Any decent cable should work with it.
Yeah, and I have found out not all cables are made equal, the resistance on one cable was higher than the other of the same brand, the higher resistance one does not fast charge it even though it pops up.
Longer cables will almost always yield slower charge times. I have yet to find a cable that puts through as much power as stock cable. Anyone know where to get those?

It is not only the length of the cable but the thickness of the cable. You also need to be aware which most of you are that some cables are for charging only. The charging only cables will not for for 'fast charge' from my experience
I use this 15' cable every day to charge, fast charging works great.

FWIW I bought a bunch of top tier cables from MonoPrice and the tip doesn't fit in my case (bodyglove).
Nearly all 8 of them have broken at the tip also.

Got this CHOETECH Iron Stand Integrated Qi Charger 3 Coils for my Galaxy S6, Nexus 6 and other Qi devices.
I have several qi chargers and this is my favorite. I was happy to find a stand like this that allows for the phone to be propped up.
It looks cool with metal material, sturdy, lightweight and charged well (at the expected 5V/1A).
Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B010B6PSMC
There is a $7 off code CCJJT48V on the landing page. The price will drop to $28 by applying the code.I think it is a great bargain that I could share.
Hope it helps for some of you who are looking for a wireless charger.
Seems nice
Hey, how long does it take to go from 0 to 100% ?
thanks
Does it trickle charge? The only way i'll buy a wireless charger is if it trickle charges. I want my phone to be at 100% when I wake up, not 90 or 80. And does it get hot?
What is a "trickle charger" ?
I use this iron stand at work and flat model at home, and they always charge to 100% assuming you leave them on long enough
I don't know what the exact full charge time is, as that can vary a bit based on services running in the background, wifi or 4g use, screen use, but I'd say that from dead to full has to be less than 4 hours and is likely closer to 3.
I've found that heating is more of a constant drain/charging thing, as in you have it doing so much that the charger never stops charging, which then causes heat to build up from the battery, not the charger. If you experience that, I'd suggest restarting the phone or turn it off and then charge it normally to see if you still have the heating issue
What is the red case you have on your phone? It looks cool

Trickle charge is where the charger charges your phone up to 100%, but then reduces the charge. It only puts out enough juice to keep the phone at 100% the entire time it's on the charger. So, basically, what i'm asking is, does this keep the phone at 100% after it's done charging?

So far, this one is a trickle charger. I forgot about the 2A adapter requirement, so it hasn't worked as expected. Will try again tonight with the right charger adapter. Word of warning: the LED indicator is omgwtf-light-up-the-whole-room bright. I put two layers of duct tape on it, and I can still see the light (!), but just barely so it doesn't bother me while I sleep.
If you want a flatter, angled qi charger, this one is also a trickle charger. I prefer this one for my desk at work.
I'm also seeking recommendations for a folding qi trickle charger, as I will be traveling for work more often in 2016.
Then, yes. The phone stays at 100% once it gets there.

Most qi chargers, other than fast chargers will charge at 700-800mah, so 4 hours will charge all the standard batteries from 0%
Fast chargers will get up to 1400mah, so math says just over 2 hours for a full charge. Standard disclaimers apply...

I'm happy to report that this charger will maintain a trickle charge at 100%. I'm very glad I don't need to root this phone (and trip Knox). I also wasted $3 buying Tasker to try to mute all of the sounds and notifications--which really didn't work.
I just bought a second one for my wife's S6 and her nightstand.
Any suggestion for such charger to be used "glued" as a car charger?
I would recommend the Nillkin qi wireless charger: http://bit.ly/1OyVOQj
Just love its design, Slim but powerful. There’s a basic LED indicator for charging.
I got this same charging dock a week ago for my S6. Looks great on my work desk and works reliably. I'll be posting a review of it too
I noticed last night when i set the z flip att variant on the charging mat. I heard a high pitched noise. I tried a different wireless charger and it still does it even tho they're not fancy wireless chargers, but i charged my earbus case and it doesn't make noses
Do you think the noise is coming from the phone or the charger? I mean, I guess it has to be from the phone if it does it on another charger, right?
This could be a case of calling that concierge number that comes with the Z Flip - charging and battery issues are not something you want to mess with or risk issues.
Its 100% the phone i hope the vall center/service is working during the pandemic
It might have been a temperature warning, if you are using a case with this phone & fast wireless charging enabled you have to be extra careful in centering the phone on the charger or it'll get hot. I disabled fast wireless charging and it's less of an issue now, I only wireless charge at night so speed isn't really important- it's at 100% when I wake up regardless
do you have a cover on your phone?

I think it comes from the charger, the noisy charger is not safe at all, you consider getting a new one or find quality charger with coupons or deals I can recommend one page like: meterdeal (dot) com you can directly message the seller and ask for the quality, or about the price on this page.
