Hello there,
Is anyone else experiencing an issue of Network Type evaluating to Unknown?
If I go to settings -> Phone Information -> Status the Network (the mobile cellular) is saying "Unknown" sometimes, mostly when I have Wi-fi Open. If I trun airplane mode ON and then OFF it gets fixed (or if I restart my phone).
I have a D2303 M2

Hello everyone.
I am from Greece, and I think that that may be the cause of the problem I am having. So the issue is that my Mobile Network isn't working at all. I'm connected to my carrier, refered to as COSMOTE which is right and I have a signal, meaning I can make and take calls etc. , but when I turn on the mobile network switch it doesn't connect. I have an already setup apn from my carrier named COSMOTE Internet and it is enabled. I did a bit of searching around the phone and on the About section in settings at the tab named Network it said : Unknown and at the Mobile Network State it said : Disconnected. By the way the Mobile Network Type is HSDPA:9
I would really appreciate it if you could come up with a response for my problem.
Regards,George.
I managed to install CM10 on my tipo but now I have no network to make or receive calls or texts and i can't seem to find out where i can choose my network.
When I go to settings>wireless and networks>more> it gives me the options of Airplane mode, VPN, Tethering & portable hotspot, and mobile networks. Clicking on mobile networks gives me data enabled (on or off), data roaming (on or off), national data roaming (on or off), and system select (home only and automatic)
Can anyone help please?
Thank you

I ticked on airplane mode, then ticked it off again and the type PIN code for the SIM appeared so I entered my PIN and in the wireless and network settings area, the airplane mode has disappeared, but added to the list is Access Point Names, Use only 2G networks (on or off), and Network Operators. When I select Network Operators, the phone searched for networks and returns with four Unknown networks and choose automatically which I did. I seem to have a signal now but I don't know if its on my network or how it is working (I'm on Three) as there is no indication as to what network I am on. I've rebooted and tried again but its still the same

Delzep - are you using tipo single or dual sim?
JL93 were you on stock jb before flashing cm10 Rom? You must be on ics, then flash cm10 Rom. Try flashing ics ftf now.

Hi All,
I just bought a Z3 (Specs listed below) and when I go to Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks I don't see the service provider option. I am new to sony devices and was wondering if there is any way to enable that menu option? I am currently roaming and would like to choose the provider I am roaming with.
I only see the following:
Mobile Data Traffic
Data Roaming
Network Mode
Access Point Names
Xperia Z3 Specs:
Model D6653
Baseband: 8974-AAAAANAZQ-00022-21
Build Number: 23.0.1.A.5.77
Android Version: 4.4.4
Resolved
Ok, so it turns out that when you are using AT&T and you travel to Canada / Mexico, they block the select service provider feature due to pre negotiated agreements with certain carriers. Called ATT Roaming team and they sent an update to the phone and brought back the menu.
Just incase anyone else runs into the same issue!

I wanted to note down this "fix" for this problem in the hopes it helps anyone else with similar behavior either on Total Wireless or other carriers. I'm unsure if it's widespread and I'm unsure if it affects multiple carriers but it is really annoying.
The Problem:
Under Settings > About Phone > Status > Service State shows disconnected and Network shows Unavailable. I'll most often notice this because I'll go to send a text and it will show network disconnected, unable to send text message please try again later. When this happens it has some interesting symptoms; outbound calls work (didn't test inbound), data works, texts in/out don't work and extreme battery drain occurs due to cell standby (last night I was at 2300mah used for cell standby despite calls/data working).
The Fix:
Call someone, literally anyone, the call should complete. You'll begin receiving texts and under Settings > About Phone > Status > Service State shows connected and Network shows Verizon Wireless.
The (potential) cause:
Changing your network mode. Say if you changed from LTE/CDMA to GLOBAL in your mobile network settings.
I have been able to do any testing outside my own device and network. If this works for you note it in the comments with your phone and carrier.

I bought a second hand sony xperia xz f8331. The signal where I am is weak on the network I'm on and volte seems to help. But it is not in the settings of the stock rom (Android 8.0, latest security update, 1 october 2018, build number 41.3.A.2.192) I'm using. If I search for it in settings, it says it's there, but when I go to Network & Internet->Mobile network, it's not there.
If I dial *#*#4636#*#*, and select "Phone Information," I see that "VoLTE provisioned" is greyed out. And it is unresponsive to touch. It's stays greyed out.
So essentially I have no VoLTE and so far no way to enable it.
Can anyone help?
