I bought a second hand sony xperia xz f8331. The signal where I am is weak on the network I'm on and volte seems to help. But it is not in the settings of the stock rom (Android 8.0, latest security update, 1 october 2018, build number 41.3.A.2.192) I'm using. If I search for it in settings, it says it's there, but when I go to Network & Internet->Mobile network, it's not there.
If I dial *#*#4636#*#*, and select "Phone Information," I see that "VoLTE provisioned" is greyed out. And it is unresponsive to touch. It's stays greyed out.
So essentially I have no VoLTE and so far no way to enable it.
Can anyone help?

Hi Guys,
I've just bought a 3.1 TA-1057 and am pretty impressed with it, except for one annoying problem.
My Carrier supports VoLTE and VoWiFi but I can't find anything in the settings to enable either one. My carrier can't help, and Nokia support have been virtually useless. If I look in the phone information (*#*#4636#*#*) both options are disabled, unselectable and greyed out. i.e. not provisioned. Software build number is 00WW_2_590.
Does anyone have the same issue or a resolution please?
I have same problem any idea???
1.)Remove third party potential threating apps just to be sure.
2.)Always make sure the phones up to date on the latest firmware.
3.)The next step is to go to the dialer ##72786# that forces the phone to reactivate.
4.)Next step go back to the dialer and dial ##3282#
4.2)Go to edit
4.3)Then type 000000
4.4)Then go to LTE
4.5)Then go to band 41 that is enabled and uncheck to disable.
4.6)Then go to band 25 that is enabled and uncheck to disable.
4.7)Then go to band 41PCII that is enabled and uncheck to disable.
5.)Reboot the phone don't expect full LTE service yet there are still some more steps...
6.)Go to settings find VOLTE and enable. Search VOLTE in the search bar to enable it.Swipe right on the button to turn it on. New icon will pop up at the top of the phone if done correctly.
7.)Then go back to the dialer and type ##3282#
7.2)Go to edit
7.3)Then type 000000 again
7.4)Then LTE again
7.5)Then go to band priority
7.6 & 7.7)Set both bands 41 and 25 to the bottom of the list by typing the number 17 on band 25 and 18 on band 41 and that pushes them down the list. Make sure band 26 is set to 1 on the priority list.
7.8)Then turn off your phone and turn it back on.
This fix is broken from a network reset or ##72786# update or Samsung software update. So reapply the fix after each update or network reset
First, I'd like to say thank you for this information. My phone was showing 1 bar and it now showing 3. Recently while in Costco, it took a long time for me to connect to a website and I had 0-1 bars, while my brother on his Galaxy S6 had full speed and bars. I hope this fixes that issue.
Why the hell is this a thing?
What if I can't find VoLTE in my settings? Will this still work?
Hi everyone,
I have just got my Xperia 5 and can't see any WiFi calling options. The phone was locked to Vodafone but now unlocked and on ee.
I had this enabled on my previous phone so I know the sim can do it.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks all!
Use the search in the settings
Hello,
I don't know what ee is (EU3 ?), but I had the same question concerning EU. I didn't find wifi calling in the settings. But when I used the search in the settings, there it was. Maybe this helps you.
Kind regards
FrauRettich
Thanks for the tip but I don't see it in search. Ee is a carrier in the UK. ?

A phone model has to be certified by the carrrier for Wifi or VoLTE calling to be enabled. You should check with EE
Hi don't know if you managed to resolve this. You activate it by pressing the call icon on the home screen, then press the the dots at the top right choose settings. Press the calls option then Wi-fi calling. Obviously make sure you are connected to WiFi then you should see Wi-Fi Calling next to EE on the top left of the home screen.

That didn't work for me.
I need help with my Sony.
I'm in Thailand and my operator support wifi calling.
Tested with iPhone and Samsung, and the service there.
But on my Sony X5, I didn't see the menu
Going to the *#*#4636#*#* I saw the WiFi calling provisioned is off and greyed out.
Does a custom ROM will able to enable that options? Or should I go to my Telco provider and check with them
I have an stock carrier unlocked xt2215-4 variant (G Stylus 5g 2022 ver). I see no option to enable video calling in Phone app settings. Does anyone know a way to port the stock Phone app to enable, or am I stuck with having to use Duo?
Enter this in your dial pad
*#*#4636#*#*
Midway down the list it will show carrier provisioning.
There might be a slide switch for
Video calling, if it's not grayed out you can change it.
If it's grayed out and off....your phone is not provisioned for that function.....you might have to call your carrier to have it enabled.

Very COOL!! Thanks for that information. I'll be sure to make note of the *# codes for future reference!! The Option was under "Phone Information" and Unfortunately it is greyed out, so I;ll call Verizon and see if we can both phones provisioned. And to be clear, I have a 2021 and 2022 Stylus 5g models. We really like to have the Video calling feature since we both have elderly parents and use that function A LOT. Kudos, and THANKS, maddog3030!
