Hello all,
I am new here! I need help installing CWM on my clone samsung s5. It is actually MT6572 with UBIFS file system. Now here are some problems I am facing.
1. I am able to create scatter file but SP flash tools cannot read it, saying it has no legal name.
2. This phone has chinese factory mode, which I am unable to understand. Is it possible to overwrite it with English recovery mode?
3. I am unable to find CWM for this phone, those which are there clearly says, "not for UBIFS"
Can you all please guide me?
Thanks!!

Now I have reached at this stage, that I cannot access Chinese recovery, only CTR.
Btw heres summary of what I did,
I downloaded ROM, copied it to SD card and installed it, but it fails at "assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","bootimg")" though it shows process completes.
My phone is stuck in bootloop I guess now.
If only I can get past it. I believe I had wrong files or it was corrupt, not loaded during backup properly.
Please help.

Try to flash another rom for your device without sd card, just use sp flash tools for it ,find firmware on google type like this: samsung s6 mt6572 firmware for flashtool ,and flash it
use the scatter file from the downloaded firmware, and use sp flashtools v3

Thanks looplolz,
I opened MTKdroid tools and selected "To prepare blocks for flashtools" and created it using my backup. Now I can still enter CTR, Chinese recovery and also boot my phone but it doesn't get past the Android splash screen. Also after this flashing, my CTR is showing errors regarding mounting /cache/recovery and so on.
What do I do now??

[solved] mtk 6589, sim not detected, baseband & radio loss, invalid imei. After flas
Hello.
I recently bought a Chinese phone MTK6589 (XYZ X1).
The first thing I did was do a full backup with MTKDroidTools.
When you upgrade to the latest official ROM and on the phone, SIM card detected stopped.
Update with backup from SP Flash Tools, but the SIM was not detected.
So as it was under warranty I returned the phone and switch to another.
I got the following phone MTK6589T (Pomp W99), again made an initial backup.
Install TWRP recovery and restart, same problem. Sim undetected.
When trying to install flash backup with SP Tools, the program did not detect the device.
So I had the phone and not the sim calls undetected Radio Baseband & empty and invalid IMEI.
To fix this we need to have previously made a backup with MtkDroidTools and convert it to SP Flash Tool If you do not have the backup, will have to look to find a full ROM for our device.
When trying to flash with SP, giving Error 3013 and did not recognize the device, the solution for this is only the first flash preloader and then again perform full flashing.
I did so but the phone was the same, so keep a thousand forums looking for the solution without success.
So you lost mobile giving, what I've done is a full format from SP flash tool (Format option), to leave completely empty.
And then flash the backup made with MtkDroidTools but scatter loading in the sec_ro and userdata.nvram.only
When you turn on the phone, this recognized the SIM! But was invalid IMEI.
So I went into engineer mode (keypad, * # * # 3646633 # * # *)
CDS info
Radio Settings
Phone 1: Insert the command at + egmr = 1.7 "IMEI1"
Phone 2: Insert the command at + egmr = 1.10 "imei2"
When you restart the phone and everything worked fine.
A greeting
Do you have the complete rom for pomp w99? Would you please post it here? Another thing, what cwm/TWRP souls I use?
Thanks!

Good day all. I have a Lenovo A3300 (A7-30) tablet. I have downloaded and installed Online Nandroid Backup and have created a backup for restore. I have scoured the net for a custom recovery and have failed to find one.
1.Has anyone come across a custom recovery?
2.Is there any way to flash a nandroid backup without a custom recovery?
3. Is there a generic custom recovery for a MTK8382 device running 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Ok, let me explain my problem, so my Lenovo A850, will not install any rom, rom will successfully flash, but phone is on bootloop, I have successfully installed a rom called Vibe Rom before, I did not think of installing a new rom for a few months, then I found this cool rom called Xperia Honami Rom on needrom.com, so I downloaded it, placed in sdcard, so went into CWM Recovery, flashed, wont work, bootloop, restored backup, so I thought, maybe CWM doesnt work anymore, so I tried TWRP, but because I was so excited, I forgot to backup my rom, so I wiped system wiped everything else, flashed the rom, still bootloop!!! I dont know how to fix this!!! I found a solution on the web, but I dont know how to get the scatter_file.txt for Lenovo A850!!! If someone has the scatter_file.txt for Lenovo A850 please provide link in the comments, I really love this phone and I want to get it unbricked.
Oh if this will help
Phone can boot up, to recovery, to fastboot (mine is not unlocked)
Its just that is stuck on boot logo.

You need to flash a new rom with the flash tool (not from the recovery). Most links online pointing to flashable roms through flash tool will include the scatter file. Else, use LGI.Corp's file...

My A850 also stuck at the logo
Good day all. I am not sure if i need to post a new threat however my Lenovo A850 (CHINA model) is also soft bricked. When switched on it will go to the Lenovo Logo and that is all it will do. When I try to run the recovery the phone will only try to update via SD card and will not actually run the recovery. I have tried to flash various ROMS with the SP Flash tool. The load happens every time successfully however when rebooted the phone remains exactly the same. I have also learned to create an update.zip file and tried loading via the phones own update procedure however the status bar does not complete.
I have found the latest (I believe) Mediatek SP Flash Tool (V5.1408.00.100) and run the EMMC test which fails with 'ERROR: NAND Flash was not detected!'.
Is it possible that the phone storage is damaged or locked?
Any help would be most appreciated.
