I've noticed that if it does not sit properly on my charger then it will do this. Just reseat the phone or try to get a bigger pad. Mine is rather small so sometimes I have to adjust it.

You could root and just remove the sound. Knox intact.
Otherwise, I guess it could somehow be solved using Tasker to selectively raise the volume when your on-call-app gets a notification/call. ..
Could be your charger.. My no name brand one from eBay needs a longer micro usb so the plug is all the way into the socket in the pad. The power light might show it's on, but I'd get that intermittent sound
Nah, I've tried 3 different chargers including the Samsung one. Same problem.

I don't have this issue with my RAVpower wireless charger. weird
Questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Thank you.
So I tried with the official Samsung charger again. No beeps... However, it does stop at 100% and then lets the battery discharge again. Annoying...
Make sure that the power adapter you're plugging the wireless charger into is 2 Amps rather than 1. I had the same problem when plugging it into a dual USB plug. It turns out that one side is 1A and the other is 2A, which works fine.
Ok, 2A charger seemed to reduce the frequency but did not stop it totally.

I recently picked up an Epic and the dock for it. I have noticed that when connecting my headphones or car stereo directly to the device it sounds great. When I connect it through the Dock I lose all bass and there is also static. I have looked all over to determine how to fix this. I see that others have the issue and some people say that it works perfectly. I was curious if there were any other ideas on how to make this work better.
thanks
I hear the issue is caused by usin a charger other than the one provided. Including car chargers. Replace and only use provided charger
Edit: thx [↓]
Both car and desk dock work fine but I do use the charger it came with. not sure if that helps you or not.
i have been using a USB charger for it. I will try with a wall power adapter and report back. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I've just bought a Note 10.1 refurbished but I'm having issues with the charger. When plugged it, it doesn't charge at all and if I use it, it would actually discharge although it says its charging. Sometimes the red x appears on the battery but after unplugging and blowing the port and connector a few times, it would then charge. However if I unplug it, it wouldn't charge again unless I blow it and reconnect it 2-3 times. The power brick is fine because I can plug my Galaxy Grand in to it and it charges every time. When it does charge, it charges fairly quickly. About 10% every 25-30 minutes.
Also when I connected it to my PC, it didn't even recognize the device at all. The tablet lights up and shows a red x on the battery again. I've got around syncing by using Wifi file transfer for now, do you think its a cable problem or a device problem? I've ordered an adapter than converts the 30 pin to micro USB so I can use my galaxy grands cable and hopefully it'll come soon as I want to test it before the 7 days return window is over.
I've read online that the stock cable is really bad and a 3rd party cable charges much faster, is this true?
Thanks,
Anthony
The red X over the battery indicates that the carging is lower than 2000 mA, and if the cable is damaged in some way the charge rate can be unstable. Otherwise, the port on the device might be dirty or damaged. Try cleaning it with a plastic/wooden toothpick and/or compressed air. You can also try to clean the cable tip.
A pc usb-port will never reach 2000 mA, so a red X over the battery will always be present. Also, for the PC to recognize the 10.1 you need to have Samsung Kies installed.
Hope this helps!

Oh I see, so that's why it has a red X. I do have Kies Installed since I have a Galaxy Grand and sadly there is no response when I plug it into my PC. Do you think its more likely that the cable is damaged or the device port is? I might be able to lend my friends Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 cable to test tomorrow though.
Thank you! :good:

I went and bought a new cable today and tada! Its all working now! I'm soo glad I don't have to send it back as I love this tablet. The connector is a bit stiffer to get in that the stock one, I'm guessing its because its a 3rd party cable but it works well so I'm happy.
And to Kayteck, maybe try a different cable if you can like I did. It could be that your cable is buggered.
Thanks for your help,
Anthony.

Hello, a lot of weird things have started happening to my device lately.
The first occurrence was screen burn in, like on plasma TVs. If I look closely on a white background, I can see that the letters on my keyboard have lightly burned into the screen! A week or so later, the top bar of the Android SMS app has burned in as well. Does warranty cover this or anything?
The second major problem is charging. Before, I could be plugged into the wall and use my phone without draining my battery, at all. Now things have changed, I am losing battery, while charging!
The last thing is that my PC no longer recognizes my device.. Yes, I do have the USB drivers, they have always been installed and have been working fine. Just in case, I tried reinstalling them, didn't help. I plug in my USB and the phone starts charging, but I don't get that notification that I used to that a connection has been established with my computer. I have tried all my USB ports, nothing changes. I am unable to browse my device's file system.
I am not too concerned about the screen, but I am very worried about the charging/connection issue; they seem to be related.
My question is, what do you think is wrong? Is there a problem with the battery? The charging port? The USB cable? Maybe CleanROM has been corrupted in some way?
I should also mention that when unplugging my phone from the charging source, it seems to think it is still charging for up to a minute later.
And, if you move the device in a certain way when it is charging, it seems to lose connection to the charging source - the screen lights up and says it's not charging until you revert it to its original position.
Any replies are greatly appreciated!
Do you guys think this is a problem with the cable? I'd like to try buying a new one if this is the case.
Does anyone have a link to a genuine data cable for the i535? (preferably on Amazon) I want to make sure I buy the right one!
What you describe is typical of a failing charge port. The only other thing that will give the symptoms you describe is a bad charger. Try a different charger and if the same thing happens then you need a new port. You can buy a repair service for this on eBay for $25

Hi, I actually narrowed it down to the USB charging cable. I managed to dig up another one and it works just fine now.

I was thinking the same thing but I've seen chargers do some weird s**t if you're still under warranty that should be covered. Otherwise I would enable daydream in display settings. Its a fancy word for screensaver but obviously would benefit you.
Hi all.
I've got a really weird problem with my shiny new Z5c. It refuses to charge when put in my Philips dock. I've got a Philips Fidelio AS111 (a speaker with a micro-usb-connector to put into the phone). All other phones I've tried charges with it without problems. The Z5c charges without problem with all other ways I've tried (cable to wall plug and cable to compuber). Just the combination Z5c vs AS111 doesn't work, it's like it doesn't get any current from the connector at all.
I'm thinking this might have something to do with how Sony got the phones connector water proof. Could they have done something that could affect the charging? Any other ideas? Anyone else with this problem?
/Daniel
It sounds like the dock may not output enough power. Are you sure it's getting plugged in all the way as well?
Try this method...
Connect your phone to Speaker and open Setting > Device Connection > USB Connectivity and find Detect USB Device...
I hope that's work for you...
Sometime i try to read my flashdisk through OTG, and i must detect usb device....
Sorry for my english

Yep, it goes all the way in. I've also tried wiggling it around a bit, nothing at all.
If it's simply not enough current, shouldn't the phone charge anyway, just slower? It seems strange that it should be so low that the phone doesn't even recognize it as a power source. Guess I could measure on it though. Question is how I get my voltmeter down there

Nope. Nothing. The phone just says nothing is connected. Mind you though that the phone isn't supposed to communicate with the dock using the usb port (it uses Bluetooth for that), the usb port is just for charging.
Thing is though that it isn't just a dead stupid usb port. When connecting another phone, the dock feels that something is connected and it then turns it's Bluetooth on (which is indicated by a little blinking led). When I connect the Z5c nothing of this happens, like the dock doesn't notice the phone being there at all.
My guess is that Sony did something fancy with the port to get it water proof. Something that doesn't follow the standard. Question is what...
/Daniel
+1 No charging on As111.
I read somewhere that the dock doesn't have the necessary output. Maybe the phone's fast charging capability has made the old Phillips obsolescent?
But bluetooth connection is fine - I used the phillips dockstudio app. So at least i got a bedside clock ...
Ah! At least I'm not alone, that is a good thing.
I've contacted both Philips and Sony support about this. Philips support just concluded that the dock and the phone isn't compatible (thank you mr Obvious), Sonys support hasn't answered yet. I don't have any big hopes for them solving it.
I really want this solved though. I love my AS111, it's the perfect place to charge the phone. As you say, the bt works fine, but having the phone laying next to the dock with a charging cable plugged in really feels stupid :-/
To be continued...
/Daniel
Well, I have a similar problem: If the Z5c is docked into my samsung dockingstation, only a message tone comes up, but no charging! Also an App which is automatically started when charging comes up shortly, but is closed after 2 seconds.

Same thing with philips as 351 dock. It does not charge xperia z5c phone. I think sony phones have a probleme with philips docs. The thing is what kind an incompability, hardware or software?

I guess it's the same with all Philips Fidelio docking devices for Android. Seems like they simply don't deliver power when they don't detect any connected device and for some reason they don't detect the Z5c. Since it's the exact same problem even when the phone is totally shut down it must be some kind of hardware issue.
Question is exactly how the dock detects connected phones...
/Daniel
Hi Daniel
Any new info on this question?
Anybody got good experience with other charging docks for Z5c, with bluetooth speaker and clock?
Not really. I did some measuring, and on a normal micro usb charger there's always 5 volts over the outermost two pins. On the micro usb contact of the Fidelio there isn't. The logical explanation would be that the dock only delivers power when it senses a connected phone and for some reason it doesn't sense the Z5c being connected. Don't really know where to go from that

Got some queries for my Galaxy Buds, please assist me folks
1] After full charge of the case with Buds inside (Green Light) if u disconnect charging wire & reconnect charging wire the case lights turn Red again and hence we assume its again charging (over charging) - Can u confirm this with your unit ?? (Using Samsung fast charger)
2] Also does your case spins round on desk like mine ?
3] What Does Orangish yellow Light mean on the case ? (It appears Randomly)
4] Is it Safe to charge Galaxy Buds with any Samsung charger - Fast Charger OR Slow Charger ?
5] Would it be safe to charge Galaxy Buds with upcoming Samsung 25W charger too?
6] Can we use any other brands charger to charge buds (Although Samsung obviously don't recommend it)

1. I only charge wireless so I'm unsure.
2. Do you mean while charging? Mine is sick on the bottom and it's easy to spin manually if that's what you mean. Other than that while I wirelessly charge I don't have any spinning.

4. Yes
5. Yes, it should only pull what it needs but why tie up your 25w charger with your buds? They shouldn't charge any faster that way.
6. Yes, but again, not recommended.

1. That's normal
2. I guess? Not sure what you mean. The bottom isn't rubberized or anything so it spins easily.
3. 30 to 60% case battery
4. It's safe to charge with any charger, just needs a type C plug.
5. yes, but the case will be limited the charge rate. So it wont do 25w with it.
6. As said before, yes you can.

It is only happening in the right ear for me too. It must have something to do with the proximity sensor. Sometimes it helps when I take the bud out of the ear and place it back after awhile. I wonder if the buds should be replaced.

Anyone notice that one of their earbuds is louder than the other? My right earbud isn't as loud as the left. Easiest to notice when first placing them in the ear and they make the "in ear" tone.

That was the first thing I did. Concerned that it was hearing loss, I switched the buds to opposite ears and the problem persists. Right one is not nearly as loud as the left.
To my ear buds the ambient sound does not work and that was reported by many other users as well in a Samsung forum.. I.e. No difference with the mode on and off... Do you get the same problem?
It's embarrassing for Samsung to give away faulty products
