[Q] No display but status bar - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm running Cynagonmod 12 nightly build.
My nexus 5 display is partialy dead.
all I can see is the status bar and the navigation buttons.
when I pull down the status bar I can see the alert just like everthing is normal and I can see the whole display even in recovery mode.
The Display is broken only when the system is booted in regular mode.

seems to be the software problem,, Why not trying the factory format

tried to reinstall
I tried to clear cache+dalvik and reinstall CM 12 but no luck.
The phone is back on only after getting back to hammerhead.

Noob in need of help! !

Ok, so earlier i downloaded cm 10 to put on my phone. I then created nandroid backup through clockwork. Then i unlocked boot loader with the ez unlock app. I restored my original android backup to see it worked, but now my notification bar is completely non existent. I can't pull down, it doesn't show anything on the where time, wifi ect. would normally be. it just shows all the I full screen like it's not even there. Can someone help! ?
also, everything else works just as it would normally. I tried battery pull and hard reset.
I'm not on CM 10 now, but you probably have status bar hidden in settings...look in your system settings menu for any status bar tweaks first. If no luck, then let me know.

[Q] Htc One M8 System Ui has stopped??? How to Fix?

Im on TWRP recovery, and in the recovery menu i accidentally wiped internal sd, and now when i flash a new Rom, after it installs an i get through the typical new phone start up process, i get a message that says, Unfortunatley system ui has stopped, and another one that says htc dot view has stopped. And then when i get to my home screen i have no Status bar or navigation bar (soft keys) and my homescreen is just a black background. I can still access my apps but cant go back because there is no soft keys. I went into my settings, to my apps, and when i went to system ui to try clearing the cache its greyed out and saying "computting" forever. What do i do? I have a htc one m8 T mobile US with unlocked bootloader and S-On.
I've already tried factory resetting and flashing a new rom and i keep getting the same results. Please help!

I got the same problem too on my lenovo A316i :crying: pls. help!!
I had the same issue when using TWRP; took all of the steps mentioned below without success. I then flashed stock recovery and wiped - this fixed it
If system ui stoped and your phone running just copy the apk of system ui and replaced it system ui apk use a root explorer or every thing go to device/system/app then find the system ui apk then replaced it or device/data/app lib/and find again the apk and then replace it .......... If your system ui stopped and u cannot used your phone follow this steps go into 'stock' recovery mode and choose wipe data/factory reset that's it
My HTC one M8 sprint all of a sudden, after installing xposed came with this error: "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped. I cannot shut it down and my battery is inbuilt. I cannot even reboot. in fact, i cannot do anything. please help, what is or are the options I have. I am desperately in need of help. Thanks to any God sent in advance.

[Q] Nexus 5 - disappeared status and navbar

Hi everyone,
I apologize if there will be any language error but I'm Italian so I'll do my best
I recently rooted my Nexus 5, kept stock rom (Lollipop 5.1.1), installed CWM recovery and flashed custom kernel (ElementalX), evenrything worked fine for a few days with everything (recovery, kernel, xposed and root apps)
Today I found and tried to use "SoftKeyZ root" app to use custom softkeys, but after rebooting the device my status bar and navigation bar disappeared. I looked across the net for possible solutions but none worked, tired to restore last nandroid backup with CWM but the problem was still there, tried my last chanche which was to wipe chache/Dalvik/data from CWM but the two bars still aren't there.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the screen also doesn't lock (if i push the power button it goes black, if I push it again it shows the last screen) and there is no wallpaper, just black

Black Screen After Missclick In Developer Options.

Okay, i was messing in dev options, and i miss poked something, and my screen went black, i can see that the backlight is on but there is nothing on the screen.
If i reboot to safemode, i see safemode logo in bottom corner, and if i press power button, power menu appears, also i can access recovery, safemode soft and hard reboot, and screenshot, through i m not sure how to access those screenshots.
I have tried to solve problem by rebootting, reapplying nightly build, wiping cache, bootting in safe mode, and poking it .
I also tried to roll back to prevous build of cyanogenmod, but then my device got stuck to android is startting, finishing boot screen.
I do not wish to perform factory reset, because i poked something in options.
Also i have access to Fastboot when i get home later tonight.

Yeah, kind of figured that out after getting home, and poking it with my firend, who is litle more phone savy...
So, i did factory reset, wiped all caches, and reinstalled newest rom, then bootted to android, and downloaded Gapps and installed them too.
In the end? Thanks google and its backups <3
Note for self, remember to backup regularily.

Status/Notification Bar does not pull down fully.

After factory resetting my phone the notification bar doesn't pull down properly I also tried reflashing CM 13 and the problem still exists. Also notifications do not appear
A proper clean flash will fix it.
