Noob in need of help! ! - General Questions and Answers

Ok, so earlier i downloaded cm 10 to put on my phone. I then created nandroid backup through clockwork. Then i unlocked boot loader with the ez unlock app. I restored my original android backup to see it worked, but now my notification bar is completely non existent. I can't pull down, it doesn't show anything on the where time, wifi ect. would normally be. it just shows all the I full screen like it's not even there. Can someone help! ?

also, everything else works just as it would normally. I tried battery pull and hard reset.

I'm not on CM 10 now, but you probably have status bar hidden in settings...look in your system settings menu for any status bar tweaks first. If no luck, then let me know.

[Q] Boot Loop after Cyanogen Mod install. Help me please.

Hey folks,
I could desperately use some help here...
I rooted my Droid Incredible using UnRevoked, which was painless and easy. After that, I downloaded Rom Manager, then backed up my current Rom.
Then I downloaded Titanium, and backed up all apps and system data.
Using Rom Manager, I downloaded Cyanogen mod 7.0.2, checked google apps, DID NOT check wipe data or cache, and then clicked OK to let it work it's magic.
The system turned on and off a bit, and then the CyanogenMod boot screen came on, ran the arrow around the droidbot a few times, then the droidbot dissapeared, came back across the screen, and the arrow resumed circling. This happened about 20 times, before I gave up and powered off by removing the battery.
Then I loaded Hboot, and attempted to access items in Clockworkmod, but even though I could click on an item, it would show the top hat with no change in status for many minutes. I eventually tried almost all options.
My Hboot screen shows:
HBOOT - 0.92.0000
Radio- 2.15.00.07.28
I am unable to click on Fastboot, Recovery leads me to busted Clockwork menu, Clear Storage causes restart into looped Cyanogen Mod screen, haven't tried Simlock, and Factory Reset also goes to broken Clockwork Menu.
I downloaded the RUU file from Doug, changed the title as directed, and put it on the SD Card. It gave me the option to Update, which when restarted afterwards continued to loop in Cyanogen Mod screen. Or, if I went to Clockwork Mod screen, the font was now Green instead of Orange. Also, when I click an item in the Clockwork Mod menu, it simply goes to a black screen until I hit the power button to bring me back to the menu,
I'd love to just get the phone to a factory state, so I can possibly use it for it's purpose of calling and sexting (just kidding.)
Please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Oftentimes, ClockworkMod Recovery has an error at the bottom stating:
E:Invalid command argument
I have to go to bed for a bit, but will be back on around 10:30am EST. Thanks for any and all help!
In ClockworkMod, I can now access and start an operation by selecting it with the volume buttons, and then hitting the joystick button. This wasn't working previously. So, I've tried some of the obvious options such as Factory Reset but it's not doing anything. I've tried multiple solutions, which means I've probably messed it up on many levels. Is there any way I can just start from scratch or get a system restore done?
After utilizing that update from Doug, and then going into Clockwork Mod, clearing all caches and system data, and then trying to restore to a previous flash for the 7th time... I think it might be working!
Thanks to anyone who looked at this.

[Q] Help! No service/home screen on Xperia X10 after flashing custom kernel

So, basically I am at a loss. I ususally spend enough time on problems like this until I solve them myself, but now I really need the help of others.
I rooted my Xperia X10i, installed some custom ROMs, everything went fine. The phone was still a bit buggy though, so I decided to go a step further.
So I unlocked the bootloader (using some threads from this forum), and had no issues with that either.
Then I installed the custom DoomKernel from here (the failsafe one!):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253853
It booted just fine, but I noticed I had no Wifi and my SIM card wasn't recognized. So I installed the Wifi modules that can be found in the same thread. I'm not sure which ROM I had on the phone at this point, since I tried many different ones.
The problem is now, that when trying to get the Wifi working, some time after a reboot the phone would ask my pin-code, and after that just gives a blue screen, instead of the usual home screen. I can slide my status bar down, and from there I can access some things, but not much. Basically I can only see that the phone does't seem to recognize my SIM card (even though it asked for the code?) and my wifi doesnt work either. Without a home screen I can't open my apps or anything.
I have since tried to install different ROMs. Again only the status bar works after a boot, besides that all I see is the standard background. Some ROMs can let me turn Flight Mode on from the status bar, and when I click it everyhting works again (except for any wifi or service, of course).
I have also tried to flash different kernels since, but nothing changed. So I used the SE PC Companion to get back to all the official SE 2.3.3 stuff. Still only the status bar works. I can still flash kernels and ROMs and boot into them succesfully, but I will always get a blank screen with just the status bar after tying my PIN code.
So... does anyone have a clue how to solve this issue? Any way to COMPLETELY restore all the phone's software, since updating or repairing using the PC Companion leaves the real problem untouched? Many thanks in advance!
Ok, resolved the issue. Apparently something went wrong while unlocking the bootloader. Restore it by clicking on "Restore" in the newest S1Tool (older versions don't have that button) and everything is solved. Just note that if you have a kernel running that requires an unlocked bootloader at the moment you restore the bootloader, obviously your device won't boot any more. Don't worry, just flash another kernel in that case.

[Completed] [Q] cyanogen mod not working after titanium bu

purchased already rooted verizon s5. developer edition. kitkat 4.4.4, cm11, twrp installed.
i loaded titanium backup which i used on my prior phone (that was a razr maxx with os 4.?, cm (cant remember version), safestrap). ran a titanium backup. assumed it wd create a fresh backup for my new device.
upon rebooting, CM blue circle appears and runs then i get screen with time/weather in top half. dialpad on bottom half with label "verizon wireless emergency call".
only new thing was running backup. didnt try to restore prior copy of backup. could this have somehow erased part of my CM?
my old phone always had the safestrap pop up as it loaded so cd go into safe mode. thought briefly about loading safestrap prior to backup....but assumed twrp wd function the same.
if i press power+vol up+vol down: get maint boot mod. can pick safe mode. get s5 screen then CM blue circle and back to emergency dialer.
any way to reload CM w/o wiping the entire device?
appreciate any help with this. im somewhat tech savvy but new at the whole rooting thing.

Maybe re-flashing the ROM (non-wipe) can help.
Best is to ask in the Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
Good luck !
Thread closed and thank you.

[Q] Can't wake up phone after restore

Hello. I have a rooted OPO, running 05Q. Last night I finally succumbed to the temptation to flash a ROM. I used the app "CM downloader" to obtain the latest nightly of CM12. Using TWRP, I created a backup, then installed the downloaded ROM. It didn't work; the phone got stuck in what is, I think, called a bootloop. That is, it just kept showing "Updating Android" then going back to a CM animation, over and over.
After letting this go on for quite a while, I powered the phone down and rebooted into Recovery. From there I restored the backup I had created. That seemed to go without a hitch; everything looked as it did before I set out on this adventure. But when I let the screen go dark after 30 seconds of not doing anything, I found that double-tap wouldn't wake it, and neither would pressing the power button. It seemed to be still working, since notifications were coming in, but I couldn't get the screen to light up. So I did a reboot, which worked, but only until the screen went dark again, at which point I had the same problem.
So...I used Titanium to backup all apps and settings, and did a "reset to factory", then restored apps and settings. This seemed to work, but once again I found that once the screen went dark, the only way to wake it up was to reboot. And again, even though the screen was dark, the phone was working. I listened to a podcast while driving to work, even though I couldn't wake the screen up.
Any ideas what the cause of this might be? I did check the Settings to make sure the double tap to sleep and wake were turned on. Everything was as I'd left it. And in any case, even the Power button wouldn't do it.
You need to flash cm11 firmware, that is the radio and stuff to get your cm11 05Q to work properly again
Edit
You should flash this

Ms330 rooted custom recovery batt indicator issue

So. I'm rooted using the beta custom twrp recovery. Been using it and setting around for months now. I've softbricked twice and got out of it. But now I'm having a stupid stupid issue.... I've been having indicator issues all day. Tried lots of stuff.... reverting to recovery. Uninstall happy reinstall. Etc. It will update when I restart and remove battery. It will stay at whatever it starts at though. It indicates charging when plugged in but the number refuses to update. The hidden menu shows the same number as does any batt app I have tried. I will try whatever you genies suggest. Thank you.
