Just got the gs6 tmo yesterday. there's horizontal lines all over the screen. Was wondering if this is on all tmo gs6 or just I have a defective screen? It's hard to see sometimes but I see it easy in videos and here on this white browser screen. I have the tmo gs6 32gb Black.
That's not normal, just get a replacement.
OK thanks. I'm exchange it tomorrow for the 64gb at 32gb price sale.

So I go to my memory screen and all of a sudden out of the blue I notice this bruise like dark spot on my screen in the white area, I just got this phone, but I bought it off ebay and It was not there just a few hours ago. I am furious about this it just happened out of nowhere I didn't drop the phone I didn't knock it or anything I don't know what to do if I can send it on for warranty with HTC or if I have to get total protection with sprint and then send it in and how much is that going to be 50 or 100 dollar deductible ?
Any advice would be great, I seemed to have made it a bit smaller by rubbing hard on the screen but I cant get it to go away.
I have flashed my phone back to stock and relocked it and I am going to go to the sprint store today, but I am wondering do I need TEP ? I don't think I do cause its a defect not damage. And cause I bought this off ebay will sprint fix it for me its still within the 1 year warranty and obviously I will not tell them that but I am just wondering what experiences everyone else has had with warranty and repairs on there phones.
Thanks
Just got home and after a full charge i booted up and noticed a gray patch in middle,a nd also a lot of light bleeding from the left side.. i plan on exchanging if tomorrow but im already considering another brand tablet..... any ideas?
I had a little light bleeding from the right hand corner... didn't bother sending it back to Newegg, if I bought it from Bestbuy, yeah... I probably would of returned it.
I took it back and got a new one. Its perfect now.
So I am a former Transformer Prime user and had constant GPS issues. So I finally just sent my Grey Prime 64gb back to amazon for a refund after ASUS was unable to correct the issues after an RMA.
Now I got an Infinity 64gb Grey from Best Buy with a C5 serial number. It had a large screen buldge (at the top) and slight light bleed on the bottom of the screen in 5-6 different places. So I got another one and it has slight screen buldges (again C5 serial) and even more light bleed.
I read another thread that said the C5 were early models. So I'm wondering if I order another from BestBuy if I'm going to get another C5 with manufacturing problems. Anyone have any insight to this?
I ordered the Infinity 64GB model from BB also, and got a C5 model. I'm tempted to contact ASUS and see if I can get a replacement directly b/c I don't feel like waiting on another tablet after having had mine for so long....
I just reverted mine from JB to ICS so I can root and use OTA Root keeper to get me through the OTA.
As far as light bleeding, can anyone with and without good models show me the difference, either in pics or video?
I have a C5 model as well, but I don't see any problems with the screen being anything other than flat, and only one 'blob' that might be light bleed on black screens, but other than that nothing...unless what I see as normal is, in fact, light bleed.

The light bleed on the two hasn't been extreme but definitely noticeable on a black screen. This has been frustrating trying to get a good tablet. I'm returning both to best buy tomorrow and going to wait for Amazon to have stock again. Best Buy has plenty of stock but they seem to be the older editions.
Also someone said something about the screen being substituted, anyone know if that is true?
No idea here. However, the screen is, as I said, flat.
I bought mine from BB only b/c of the 18 months same as cash deal....I cannot afford to outright buy one right now.
That's odd, I got mine several weeks before the official release (which is nearly a month before the US release, as Europe got it earlier) and it's a C06... Where the heck did they get C5's from, when C06 is the pre-release version?
I suspect you might actually have the beta product line. Suggest you return it and explicitly tell them to deliver a newer model, as you're not paying for a beta product.

I don't know.. Perhaps BB Online is down only to the C5. I am correct in understanding that C5XXXXX refers to the beginning of the serial number right? Because that's where I see the C5. That's how I remember it on the primes.
Yes, it's the serial number. C5XXXXXXXXX, C6- etc.
That could very well be the case. Is there a possibility to send them a message during the order? If so you can try to specifically request a higher serial number.
(And in my previous post my phone autocorrected the C6 to C06 because it thought I was typing a phonenumber. Ignore that, it's C6...)
I've had mine at exactly 30 days on Monday. I'll see about getting a replacement today.

I'm new to Verizon, and I got my phone from Amazon. So I've got 30 days to decide if I want to keep it. I got a Galaxy S4 but honestly I should have known better. The battery life is just not getting me through my day. I thought about getting an extended battery for it instead, but the phone with an extended battery plus even a thin TPU case seems to be around 5/8" thick. By contrast, the Maxx with its big battery (which is smaller than the extended S4 battery, sure, but still 3500mAh should get me through the day) is barely any thicker than what I currently have so it's easily pocketable.
The concern I have is the display - I really like the 1080p display on the S4 but I know that the pixel density is way overkill. Has anybody else gone backwards in resolution? How does the display on the Maxx/Ultra look if you're used to 1080p? I'm sure performance is fine. Touchwiz is heavy as far as skins go so I expect the Maxx to be pretty darn snappy even with just a dual core because it has 2GB of RAM. 32GB of storage is plenty.
I am using both a DNA and the Maxx daily, so it's 1080p LCD vs. 720p AMOLED. While the screen on the S4 (and the One) are very good, they're not so much better that I think that I am looking at a lower end phone with the Maxx's screen. The screen on the Maxx is still decent, even if it's got annoying AMOLED qualities (over saturation, purple tint at low brightness) but it's fine.
If battery is a problem on the S4, and you don't want to be switching out battery packs, return it for the Maxx.

Orsum. Now if only Amazon would get them in stock. I'm going to be calling them tonight about it, and hopefully they'll at least let me place my order. I can get by on a Droid X2 a little longer. :crying:
I talked to VZW to see if I could return my S4 to Amazon and get the Maxx through them and they're like yea, but you have to cancel your contract through them and then open a new one with VZW. But my contract has 3 lines and 2 of them are happy with their phone. I wouldn't make them do that just for me. I'm kinda stuck. lol
Interesting... Did you open up a Verizon account through Amazon recently? Sounds like you didn't since you have an X2.
If you didn't, then you should just be able to return the S4 and get your upgrade back, then go to the Verizon store and (trade in your X2) upgrade there. Doesn't matter where you do the upgrade if you can just return it to where you got the new device from.

I did actually just open my account. The X2 is a spare I acquired because when I first got my S4 and my wife's S4 BOTH of them had to be replaced almost immediately (hers just died and wouldn't power on; mine had the speaker go out so it never ran). I didn't want to go without a phone and neither did my wife so I picked this thing up on my local Craigslist and transferred her number to it while hers was replaced, and then transferred my number to it while mine was replaced. So this is a brand new account.
I was told by Amazon via email that basically that's what I can do though. Return the phone, get my subsidized device purchase price back as a refund, and buy the Maxx on subsidy when it's available.
Oy, that's a hassle. Although... if you just open a line and bring your own device, even "through" Amazon, if they release you from the 2 Year Contract on your line, shouldn't you just be on month-to-month at that point, using the Droid X2? And then, can't you just go to a Verizon store then sign a new contract there? Seems odd that Verizon won't let you do that, though it could just be the individual wanting you to do everything through them instead.
I know Amazon adds a few extra stipulations in their agreement, but I don't know if they lock you in like that where you can only purchase through them.

Well, Amazon says they will refund the purchase on the original phone, so what I plan to do is send it back, let them refund me, and then see if I have an "upgrade" on the Verizon website. If I do I'll just buy through them or go into the local store and pick it up. If not, then I will call them and worst case is I'll have to wait for Amazon to get it in stock.
Might have to pick up another phone if I have to wait, though. This X2 is seriously laggy.
I had an S4 with AT&T and I opted for the Maxx on verizon (needed to swap carriers anyway).
I really don't regret it. The camera on the S4 is lightyears better than what we have, and that does really bother me, but I can't leave this battery life anymore. The screen difference is noticeable... especially with a screen protector. No idea why but I swear something about a protector magnifies pixels a bit. But it's not a deal breaker for what I do with a phone anyway.
Thanks for the input guys. The S4 is back in Amazon's possession and I'm just waiting for the Maxx to come in stock, already have the order placed. I was warned that it could be a while so I'm getting an OG RAZR Maxx on Swappa so I'm not stuck with this X2 for now.
I was wondering if anyone here has had to replace the screen on their S8+ lately
and any pricing advice
mine broke in a weird spot almost like a stress crack

I had mine fixed at ifixandrepair for $250. OEM new Samsung screen, they showed me the box. I have square trade warranty, they said only one place in my area they worked with which was batteries plus. Batteries plus said they had to send it out, take about 3-5 days, was same price. Square Trade said i could take it to anyone i wanted but i'd have to pay for it and send them the bill. I had it back fixed in 2 hours and the reimbursement check in 3 days. The new screen is much brighter and colors are a lot more vivid and vibrant. Touch is perfect. Of course it's no longer water proof, which is to be expected. I love the phone, hate the fingerprint sensor location. Pre-ordered unlocked s9+ from samsung
Thank you,That sounds reasonable enough
I will keep them in mind when I have to get it done
I used Samsung without insurance and only ended up costing $170 but was without my phone for a week. Had to mail it to them. And it is still waterproof. Dropped it in the rain getting out the truck went back 10 mins later and found it, still working.
