Hi. I have 3 Android devices, a Nexus 7 2013 model, Moto E and a Nexus 5. The Nexus 7 and Moto E appear in the Android device manager ok but the Nexus 5 doesn't.
It's running stock Anrdoid 5.0.1 but it has been rooted.
I have the following settings:
Security -> Device administrators -> Android Device Manager -> Enabled
Location -> Enabled
Location -> Google Location History -> Enabled
Location -> Google Location History -> This Device (Nexus 5) -> Enabled (interestingly, it also says that the last reported date was today)
All 3 accounts are signed in with the same Google account.
Going to Android Device Manager on the web or on the Nexus 7/Moto E using the Android Device Manager application does not allow me to select the Nexus 5 but the other two devices can be selected.
Why is my Nexus 5 not appearing? Is it because it's rooted?

Ask Google Support? Seems to be an issue only them can answer or provide guidance on.

Good call, I've just created a support post: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/play/hURelcLa2VA;context-place=forum/play
I see that Google have vastly improved being able to create a support post, I remember trying to do this before with some other issue and finding where to post was either non-existent or a complete mine field.

Not sure if I'm posting in the proper area, but here goes:
I recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to S5 (i have Verizon, if that matters), and on my S3 (Android 4.1.2 stock) I was able to root my device and convert Fake GPS to a system app, which allowed me to avoid having to check "Allow Mock Locations" anytime I open the app.
I have tried doing the same on my new S5 (Android 4.4.4 stock), and have successfully rooted the device, and converted it to a system app. But now it still forces me to check "Allow Mock Locations" even after rebooting. I have confirmed the Fake GPS apk file is in the /root/system/app folder but still can't find a solution. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi,
Here is a thread I found... Not sure if this is what you are trying to use.... But it appears it doesn't function anymore.
You can read about it and ask about it here...

Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.
Hi. I have a Symphony Xplorer ZIII (factory rebranded from Gionee E-Life E7 Mini) set that is running on android 4.2.2 with superuser permissions enabled, with no problems until today.
Firstly, Play Store was unable to connect (over both 3G and wifi). Clearing cache, etc. for Play Store, Services and other apps did not help. Rollback to factory Play Store did not help as that did not connect either. Then I did a factory reset.
Now, on every boot up it asks for my gmail account as usual, but does not "establish a reliable connection to the server" and is stuck between this screen and the Select WLAN screen. Again, both 3G and wifi are available for use.
Phone is USB responsive, OS is working bar the connection issues. I'd like to perhaps install Kitkat or a custom rom like Cyanogen in the process. What should I do? All user data has been backed up to laptop and cloud, so anything goes.
Hi there,
I'm sorry but I can't find anything relevant to your question/device.
Please post that in the forum bellow for more answers from the experts but first register an account on XDA forum:

Good luck
Hello, it's me. I started this thread earlier but I found a solution. For reference:
1. After a reboot, "Not Now" was selected upon the prompt to add a Google account.
2. The phone is still rooted as before, so I downloaded the apk Total Commander and installed it, granting superuser permissions.
3. Using Total Commander, located file -> File system root / data / etc / hosts
4. Using Total Commander, opened using the Edit option and added a #
That is,
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.39.86.171 android.clients.google.com mtalk.google.com
was changed to
127.0.0.1 localhost
#127.39.86.171 android.clients.google.com mtalk.google.com
5. Saved file and rebooted phone, all Google account addition prompts connected perfectly with the server afterward.
Thread closed, thank you.
Hello buddies, I'm facing this problem since the first M Preview, I recently updated to the preview 2 hoping that problem wold be fixed but it wasn't.
The default mass storage device label shows Unknown instead the device's name (Nexus 5), I'm not facing this issue on my Nexus 4 running 5.1.1 stock so I don't think it's an adb driver issue.
I've tried to update the drivers to the latest on Google page, but no success.
Does anyone knows how to fix it?

I flashes by file method, bundled wasnt working for me.
Driver version 08/28/2014 11.0.00...
Can you confirm me your driver version, and if you flashed your device with file by file method instead of the bundled batch file.

I have decided this problem thanks next way:
1) I pulled quick settings and the status bar panel from the top down;
2) Then I found "Charging via USB" window (with the letter M) and clicked it on.
3) Then I chose "Using USB" window, and clicked "Transfer files (MTP)".
And after all the computer saw the contents of the phone.
Hi I'm new to the z5 forums and I'm looking for any non root mods for my z5 as I cannot unlock the bootloader so I'm limited to non root mods any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Thanks for the help
If any apps cause trouble (or you don't like them) you can attempt to disable them via adb:
(for this you need to enable "USB debugging" via "developer options": Settings -> about phone -> Build number -> Tap 7 times)

Not sure what exactly you're looking for ...

Open samsung browser and navigate around till you get to where you can input a google account OR use chrome browser and get to where you add a google account (Yes go ahead and do this)
Register a new account (you can probably use any other account as well). I went ahead and registered a new one.
Next goto browser and type in settings scroll over to the phone icon at the bottom if the phone settings arent already shown as results when you search.
Click on the settings result. You are now in your phone settings.
Goto Security.. Enable Unknown Sources and disable Verify Apps
Next click on Reactivation Lock and disable it.
Youll be brought to a samsung login screen letting you register an account.
Now register a new account.
Goto Software Update if you want and it will register your device and update (if youre not up to date)
It will reboot and install updates.

If you didnt install updates go ahead and reboot the phone.
Now input your account you just created and login.
If you setup a google account like i said in the above steps it will already be set for you.
