Hi,
First of all, thank you a lot for all the development effort that has been put in to bring the AOKP ROM up to this fantastic standard. I have been using the ICS AOKP for quite a while, and just switched over to the JB ROM. It feels a lot faster and smoother, thank you!
I have got a question on Link2SD after flashing this ROM. Apologies beforehand, if this is not the forum to post that. I had used Link2SD while on ICS to move most of the apps to the SD card. Now after flashing JB, Link2SD does not re-mount the SD card secondary partition. I selected all the options mentioned (ext2/3/4/FAT) but it fails to mount with any of those options. So I'm not able to re-link any of my apps. Does anyone know how to fix this and get my apps back?
I also tried the following as per suggestions in some of the threads: 1) mounting it in recovery: not working; gives the message error mounting sd-ext (2) deleting some of the apps like Downloads and Email: still not working even after deleting those two apps.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I never had any problem with link2sd and ANY rom. Im on CM 10.1
Till ICS it was easy to directly download and flash roms and Gapps.
But JB roms need trimming.
What i do is.. after a clean wipe I flash any JB rom. Then remove unwanted apps.. Instal Link2sd..
change few minor system apps to user apps (not recommended, if you dont know.. what you are doing).
After linking these apps.. I always have enough mem for Gapps.
In Gapps also you have few apps which you can convert to user app and then link it.

My issue is now fixed, but in a hard way. Formatted the secondary SD card partition, and then Link2SD automatically recognized it. All the apps are gone, but at least I got the secondary partition active. Spent another half-hour downloading all the needed apps again from the Play store.
Link2Sd not working for me on CM10.1 Rom
I am using TouchWiz JB V2 Rom
I have tried ti install int2Ext+ (CronMod Fixed version fro 4.2.2) Still no luck
Also installed Link2Sd but it gave
Unable to create mout script error
I partiotned my sdcard using recovery (CWM 5.0.2.6) (it created Ext3)
Then (Delected the sdext partition using "Mini Partition Tool Wizard" then created new partition for Ext4)
But still no luck Nothing seems to work

Hi
І have also had the problem.
I removed the system software of Google voice search, voice dialing, search . (Titanium Backup / un-install all user & system apps)
format ext2 or ext4.
Run Link2sd
Apparently there was no room in the system or chmod / chown
Can you tell which version of kernel you are using?
If you are on 3.x.x version, sorry to tell you that these scripts are not working till today.

I tried formatting ext2 and ext4, no result was not, error mount script.I knew it or not enough memory or wrong permissions set.
I mentioned that Titanium Backup can delete system apk you need to unmount the partition.
I removed the system software of Google voice search, voice dialing, search . (Titanium Backup / un-install all user & system apps)
Run Link2sd :victory:
I also had problems with link2SD.

The standard and not-really-necessary idea of doing a factory-reset wipe when flashing is the problem here. I also had that zong my sdext making it read-only and nothing, nothing except re-partitioning the sdcard helped.
not working !
hi ! I have a problem , I've tried to partition sd card with cwm, minitool partition , tried ext 2,ext 3 , ext 4 , flash again ROM , install first link2sd , recreate mount scripts every time i change the method but no matter what i do , it keep telling me that the 2nd partition is not mounted and wont let me recreate mount script . Hi, you can do one of these things, by adb shell run e2fsck -fpDC0 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 to your second partition or using gparted run a full check of second partition of your SD card in a computer card reader, after that will work. I have the same problem, but in my case i have to do this procedure EVERY DAY because at next start the read only problem starts over... ANY BETTER SOLUTION APRECIATED !!!
After factory reset, I had a read-only ext4 partition. Had to start over.
Common cause of link2sd not creating its mount scripts is too little room on /system. Try adb shell df | grep system. Need a few meg. If this be the problem, need to trim the ROM.
Can,t understand ... How to Do it In Micromax A27...in custom Rom
tell me how to do it in Micromax A27 in custom Rom Dreamboltxv2
A lot of separate issues here and in various threads:
1. Sd-ext read only after factory reset. I never do that. Had that very thing happen. Save all data from partitions to computer, repartition and copy it back.
2. Not enough room on system to process/form mount script. JB and onward, ROMs need trimming. > 3meg needed, 9meg should be plenty.
3. No room on data. Link2sd can still work and fix that. If sdext can be mounted, that is ... and a launcher can live long enough to get to lin2sd and start it!
4. Other errors creating the mount script. I am now getting "device busy ... maybe ext4 not supported ... try vfat ... etc." Ext4 is supported. I have a copy of the script which I can place myself.
5. Data integrity problems in Kitkat based ROMs. Repeated recreation of dexes on data, using it up (Link2sd's Achilles heel). Sometimes, recreating that script can stop this. If one can get it re-created. Issues 3, 4. Link2sd can get the space back, problem is keeping it.
I have raised the issues with Link2sd authors.
Just rooted my new 3110, successfully .......(or so I thought) . Now I cannot install anything on internal SD. Whenever I try, I get "not enough space" error message - even the 2 apps(only had the tab 3 days)! that were on the sd before I rooted, have mysteriously moved to phone memory. I cant even install FolderMount , which I had already d/l. Forgive a newbie, but having rooted my Galaxy W phone 18 months ago with very few problems, was hoping tab would be as reliable. Anyone help? (as I dont want to unroot just to be able to use internal sd memory.) Thanks in anticipation.

I'm confused, how did you get apps to run on your external SD without root? Didn't know that was possible. Did you try clearing the dalvic cache? Seemed to do the trick when i had issues with lucky patcher causing that same error. I may be way off base though.
Edit: i think I'm confused, sorry, that advice is surely off. Uhm, perhaps reflashing stock and trying again, seeing as how you do not have much data to loose, using the auto root Odin flashable file.

...........Thanks for the help.. Wasnt talking about ExtSdcard, but sdcard0, the internal storage -,sorry for confusion-. Although "Install manager" shows all apps as being installed on "phone" memory, & "external" memory empty, both "Disk Usage" & "Root Explorer" show the same files/size used, in both locations, so I now figure I may have partition problems after rooting (I used this system : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1596) Will try the auto method as per your link if I cant solve the issue (though hoping a quick fix might be possible.!) Thanks

Still "not enough space" issues.
Ok. I tried wiping data, flashing back to stock rom, then chainfires auto - root method. All went well - device rooted (again!) fine, BUT I`m STILL having problems with storage. Some apps (especially games) wont install - am getting "not enough space" message, just as before. It seems that all apps that need to be intalled on the devices internal "sd" (such as" FileMount") card just wont.
Please forgive a couple of lame questions, but having never owned a tab before, I`m new to their "vagaries" - Also I have searched here & other online forums for an answer, so forgive my badgering all you "fonts of tekkie wisdom."
. Mine is the 8gb model, & I know a lot of this is taken up by system/ram etc - the "device memory" reports a total of 4.49gb, but TB (& other root apps like sd maid) states : Rom 1.26 gb, internal 4.92GB, sd card 4.82gb (with exactly the same space used in both , i.e. 1.50gb. I also have 32gb micro sd inserted. - Is there an internal partition for the "sdcard0" space , or it there a "physical" internal sd card ? If so how do I format thhis? If not could I have a partition problem? (The reason I ask is that none of the "move to sd" apps I have tried like app2sd, install manager etc work - They state, apps have moved when they clearly havent.
So I think it may be an internal partition problem, (which I presume hasnt been solved by reflashing stock, and re- rooting.) - I did notice that when I was re-rooting by CF auto root, in odin there was partition check box, but CF instructions said "if, & ONLY IF, device is bricked, to check this box. - So how can I , - 1. confirm whats causing the problem?, & 2. -Solve it?
Thanks for any help & advise hopefully, proffered, forthwith.:fingers-crossed:
do a simple thing! factory reset your tab. click format sd ! these issues are solved just by formatting the sd, be it internal! :good::good:

Its a partition, its an emulated SD card. I think the post above me has the right idea.
Also, none of those apps will work. You will need use a sdcard swap script, gl2sd(app), foldermount, or some root app or script that is similar to those.
I think you will need a custom recovery, (like cwm, or twrp) to format the internal "sdcard", i never really used the stock recovery much, but it seems like an option they would leave out. I think there is an oden flashable in developer section. I would find links for you, but i got to get the kids ready. Shouldn't be hard to find.
If you can not format the internal SD using stock recovery, here is a link to the Odin flash able cwm.
PS. I really do not think it is a partition prob., and i wouldn't click the repartition option.

OK Folks - seems I have fixed the problem, by uninstalling all apps (inc "moving" apps) that dont work or are "buggy" , cleaning/wiping caches/data, then I was able to install FolderMount from here, and now all the instability/storage problems gone. (Am so impressed with FolderMount have bought pro, as I am a bit windy when in comes to T.E`s or running scripts! My 32gb is filling fast enough anyway!)
Thanks for the help chaps - dont know what us "am hacks" would do without you! :highfive:

There are two ways to do this. 1. If you have a recovery boot loader installed in your phone, you can simply log into your recovery and select advanced and then fix permissions. Once done reboot the phone. All partitions will have their flags set back to read write execute. The other way would be what you did, redo all the partitions again. The last one only works in Linux. I'm not a Windows user so I couldn't help there.
If your a Linux user and not sure how to take ownership of a hard drive or removable drives, let me know and I'll explain it in the next post.

Hi guys
I have a little problem and maybe some of you also have it.
First i own a xt1541 8GB
On Lollipop i use link2sd (payed app) and i'm very happy.
Now on MM i cannot use it cause it cannot make mount point. allready tried with apps2sd but on reboot it wont work again.
Also on MM external sdcard is no longer sdcard1 but something like xxxx-xxxx. Tried create a symlink with name sdcard1 pointing to xxxx-xxxx but on reboot the symlink is erased.
I saw this kind of trick on Huawei honor 4c marshmallow stock rom.
With that symlink link2sd shows me sdcard space available, thing that without it it shows nothing.
Does anyone has a solution for this?
same here
Same here I can't make it to work on marshmallow.
Adaptable storage option build in the system really needs work. It still uses internal storage anyway causing problems when too much apps installed.
Probably a solution
Hey, I had the same problem as you, but I think that I solved this... at last in my phone. I don't know if it will work for you too and I'm not capable of explain details, since I'm new in this world of rooted cellphones, but I'll try my best.
First I tried another similar app called App2sd to check if it was a problem with my phone or with Link2sd only. And that app properly mounted the 2nd partition of my sd card. After that I opened Link2sd and my 2nd partition was mounted there too. But after rebooting the system, Link2sd was not working again, my sd was not mounted. I understood that Link2sd was having a problem in mounting my card at boot. Then I remembered that I read here in another forum (androidforums.com) that Link2sd need that your cellphone has init.d support to work. I donwloaded an app called Universal init.d and tested if my cell has that support, and it has. That app has an option of automatic execute scripts at each boot if you turn it ON, then I did it. Now Link2sd is working 100%. Sorry about the poor explanation, but I hope that it can help someone.

Has anyone come up with a fix for this annoying problem of sdcard1 getting renamed in mm roms? I notice that not all mm roms do this like Temasek's.
Hello everyone, I just install this ROM that works perfectly, don't have any bugs, but I want to know if there any application to move applications to the memory sd, link2sd doesn't work and format my SD as internal storage doesn't work for me, so please help.
What ROM? Why SD as internal don't work? There is a eny error message?Try RR 5.6.7. On this ROM adopted storage works perfectly for me.
I prefer using link2sd. Seems to work on rr567, but the second partition on the sdcard that's used by the link2sd is recognized as corrupted by marshmallow. Does anyone know how to force the android system not to read the second partition?
