Glad to hear you fixed it. When I had this problem it was a ext3 partition under the wrong ownership. I had to change ownership from user to root and it worked.

There are two ways to do this. 1. If you have a recovery boot loader installed in your phone, you can simply log into your recovery and select advanced and then fix permissions. Once done reboot the phone. All partitions will have their flags set back to read write execute. The other way would be what you did, redo all the partitions again. The last one only works in Linux. I'm not a Windows user so I couldn't help there.
If your a Linux user and not sure how to take ownership of a hard drive or removable drives, let me know and I'll explain it in the next post.

Hi please the problem of mount script cannot be done still persist
Help me out I'm running cwm 5

Not sure if anyone's still reading this thread but I'm having this problem too. I formatted my microSD with MiniTool Partition Wizard. Only the 1st FAT32 partition is mounted in Android, how do you mount the 2nd partition?

link2sd

I installed this and have all apps set. I thought this would save more internal space than just installing to sd? I have not gained any space with this??? I do however notice they load faster at boot though. am I incorrect in thinking it would gain me internal storage?
thanks

You need to manually move whatever your want to SD. (In settings you can choose apps, dalvik cache and libs; do not bother with libs, they will be back to /system after reboot). Anything already on SD (the native way, in android_secure on FAT) needs to be moved back to phone first.
N.B. You need a second partition for this on your SD card, in case you have not done it, it will not work at all
I moved everything back to phone then did the link2sd with libs and see no difference in space left
Sent from my VM670 using Tapatalk
is there a way to delete the lib file I did link? very confused why internal storage stayed the same?
Sent from my VM670 using Tapatalk
What lib file? Yeah, you are very confused really.
because you said not to bother with linking the libs..
my real question is this...
should link2sd save more internal space than just moving all apps to sd? if so.. mine did not..
thanks for the help

Dunno how are you checking the saved/free space, if it is some widget then I would suggest to reboot the phone.
Hi! I'm on LG Optimus One and Gingerbread-2.3.4-rc4.1 /CM7 rom. My SD has one 512 MB ext3 partition and one 3,5 GB fat32 partition, class 4. When I run link2sd and choose ext3 (or other) type file system I receive this error:
Mount script error
Mount script cannot be created.
mount: mounting/dev/block/void/179:2 on /data/sdext2 failed: Device or resource busy.
I have reformatted the SD and reinstalled the rom more times but the error persists...
Please, Doktornotor, can you help me to found the culprit?
try to partition your sd card via adb. idk why, but when i tried to partition via clockwork, i had sd-ext as read-only. u can check if link2sd is mounting ok in shell (comand: mount) and look for /dev/block/void/179:2 on /data/sdext2 line . also check if ext partition is ro or wr.
Thanks for the hints! After many tries formatting the sd by linux or windows I have reached a conclusion: my SD is faulty and I will retry tomorrow (I hope) with a new one. See you!
Hi! After many tries I've changed my choices, uninstalled link2sd, uninstalled the ROM, keeping my good old SD.
Installed CM 7.1-RC0 6.5.5 by Mik_os, installed DT a2sd, et voila all runs flawlessly... seems like a miracle!

[Q]How to mount the 2nd partition of my SDCARD?

I just created a 2nd partition on my 8GB SD card so that i could move apps to it using link2sd...but when i open link2sd and select the file system of my SD card's 2nd partition (ext4) i get an error:
Mount script cannot be created.
mount: No such device.
ext4 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition.

If you are on Stock then maybe FAT32 partition may have worked.. or even otherwise maybe it will work,.. haven't used a FAT32 sd partition since JaggyROM 2.x.x ( obviously my 1st partition is fat32 ) ... My second partition is an ext and it is advisable to have an ext partition cause there are many scripts like int2ext , s2e, etc which work well with an ext partition...
A partition is Not necessary to made in order for other ROMs to work.. They will work just as well without a partition .. only thing is your internal memory will remain to be 150 mb.. Which is the memory allocated in our phone's nand..
NOTE: Sense 4.0a is the only ROM that you necessarily need to have an SD-EXT Partition of at least 1 GB. Otherwise it won't boot.
thanks for helping me..

If anyone still have the above issue then just change ur sdcard partition type to ext3. Reboot mobile. Better to use link2sd for this.

do it through mini partition tool..delete the created partition..now right click on the 1st partition..slect extend..n drag the cursor till end...n click apply...done
Use Other Kernel
The reason for your second partition is not recognized is you may be at Stock Rom and Stock kernel....
Stock kernel do not support ext partitions...
Use ateeq kernel or cranium kernel for ext4 partition support....
Also use Mounts2sd instead of link2sd...!!!!
I used mounts2sd after I created sd card partition(ext3) but this app said partition not mounted; but link2sd recognised n created scripts.

Assuming you have the right kernel, install the startup script and change the driver in mounts2sd settings to ext3.

SD card 2nd partition is not getting mounted

Hi Friends
Yesterday I flashed my HTC Explorer with CM10.1 Beta 5 ([DEV][ROM][JDQ39E][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1.2 | BETA#5 | 25/07/13 | WILD FOR THE NIGHT) . But with this build my phone is not mounting the second partition of size 2GB (total 16gb card) which I have created from recovery menu. I have tried with the Mini partition tool on windows for FAT32 too, but still its not mounting my either Link2SD, mount2SD or by the kernel (About Phone -> System partion).
Please help me as without mounting the 2nd partition I can not install any other app as very very less space is available after CM 10.1.
Thank you.
Use Int2sd+ for cm10.1
You can Google it & download
Note: you when flash ROM when mount system, data,sd-ext..and make ext3 partition

Its still not working. I wonder, if we can do so many things in CM, why can not we simply integrate the script in to the rom itself. I'm damn sure 100% of HTC explorer users must be searching for a way to increase the internal memory of the phone also now a days sd cards are damn cheap.

mount2sd NOT mounted SD-EXT on Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos
hi,
I have a rooted Samsung GT-B5512. Init.d and mountd2sd installed.
Android 2.3.6, kernel: 2.6.35.7.
Trying to move a lot to SD card, including some system files since this is a low end device with little memory. Even with apps like link2sd after a large number of apps the int storage was full :/ therefore trying the mount2sd but it doesn't want to mount the sd partition.
The card (16GB) is formatted as follow: 13 GB FAT32, 1 GB EXT3.
In the section Storage\External mount2sd says Not mounted.
the busybox is installed, the startup script too. Driver is set to EXT but most of fields are grayed out.
Please help.

thank you, I was struggling with this alone for too long ...
Did as you say but same results. Mount2sd doesn't see the SD-EXT.
FYI - I did not install the ClockworkMod,just run it from the Android recovery shell. Anyway it was able to successfully create partitions on the SD.
Don't know if that matters ...
Do you want me to post any screens, or log files (actually mount2sd log is empty, even though debug mode is checked).

My ClockWordMod (CWM-6102) does only ext3 (did not find setting to change type). I'm not sure is there higher CWM for my cell.
I've made the ext4 using MiniTool Part under Windows but it looks like the Mount2SD does not support ext4 in my case. I can choose ext2, ext3, fat, auto but the ext4 is dimmed (could it be Android kernel related?).
Tried then also sd-ext and FAT, still Not Mounted ...

it was kernel thing (BTW - there are very few recovery binaries for this phone, CWM is for example mostly in use as a temporary executed, loaded each tip from ZIP).
I have updated kernel to this:

[Q] Problem with Link2sd after resizing ext2partition

Hi all...
Im having problem with Link2sd after resizing the second partition.
What I had done:
Before resizing the partition I copied all the files from ext partition to my desktop
I resized the partition to a smaller one, from 4.5 gb to 3.5.
The total filesize in this partition was under 2 gig.
Using minipartition tool I deleted the ext partition.
Resized my existing fat partition to 4 gb and created ext partition with rest of the space
Ext partition was created as primary.
Now I copied back all the files from desktop to sd card.
But everytime I start with my sdcard, Samsung logo keeps showing after boit sound.
I waited for 5 minutes but nothing happnd.
I started without sdcard. And tried recreating mount script. But the same problem.
How to overcome this problem. Do I need to start from the beginning? ?
My device Samsung Galaxy Fame 6812.
Running jb 4.1 Stock ROM definitely Rooted.

The operation to link storage to ext partition is scripted. Ext4 partition has to be formatted once after installing the script to work properly. Link2SD performs this when setting up. You can try formatting the SD-Ext partition using your custom recovery but i suppose you will have to set up the ext partition again usning Link2SD

Phone boots normally with basic apps..
Now I tapped " relink all files " frm link2sd . And copied one apk file from my backup & rebooted
Bingo!!! That app linked 2 sd .. now copying rest of the apps..

does link2sd detects your second ext2 partition? if yes... pls wait for somebody else to help you.if it is not detected, just follow the steps carefully in the tutorial (link given in first reply).
this is what happened: when I click ext2 ext3 ext4 or fat32 it shows mount script cannot be created. when I see in storage info it says sdcard 2 no mount. intact I followed that guide to partition. 6.40gb primary fat32. and 1gb primary ext2 (at present) tried ext 3 4 and fat 32. every time it shows no mount script. do yo still say that my partition is wrong? please help me. also say where is install-recovery.sh located. if I find that it will be done. note: I use micromax a58
I hope you are using Andrr 4.2 and be sure that you are using latest link2sd app from playstore.I know that some older version of link2sd doesn't support 4.2 . will cause mount script error.
first of all... forget about script now... I cant help you with scripts..But im sure that you can do without a script. because I also faced the same situation that u r facing...
tried all filesystems allways shows me mount error..
but I started from the scratch slowly following each and every step carefully., I succeeded with ext2 filesystem. thats why I told you to follow that steps carefully. .
I dont have any link to tutorial for the scripts for you now..
ill post it here once I get it..
all the best
scratch means? you merged everything and again partitioned it? first I moved all data to system. and I partitioned it as I mentioned previously. total 7.40gb. after deleting all became unallocated. I split it into 2. one is primary, 6.40gb,fat32. another is primary, 1gb,ext2. installed link2sd. selected ext2.(also tried others). it said mount script not created.. also said to try fat32/16. I again inserted in computer. clicked the second partition. clicked delete partition (did I make mistake here?). and the second partition(ext2) became unallocated. didn't touch the first partition. after second became unallocated, I tried fat32. not worked. repeated the process for all.(ext3,ext4) nothing worked. mount script not created. that's why I entered into scripts and downloaded root explorer, busybox and terminal emulator. but couldn't find install-recovery.sh. this is my situation. have I made mistake in partition? help me sir. please.

yes just start by deleting all partition..mini patrition tool is best for this purpose.
try to make ur fat partition as active.
both must be primary
after partitioning make sure your partition showing with size specified by you.you can use diskinfo app from playstore.

yes,you can delete all partitions and start again.try to make your first partition as active. use mini partition tool to partition ur sdcard.for second partition
use ext2 filesystem it is supported by almost all roms .if you still stucked try with fat32.
thats all.. if u still not able to mount try those scripts (link already given) at ur own risk.
how to make first partition as active with mini tool partition? I have been using that tool from the beginning. I want to merge those partitions and split it again right?
