One Click Root - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried oneclickroot.exe from oneclickroot.com ?
They charge like 30$ for a "safe root" for note edge .... im wondering if its something new or just a cf autoroot rip off ?

Safe root, flash TWRP/CWM with PC ODIN and then from there install SuperSU. There, your rooted, that'll be $30...
I don't believe any method tried wouldn't trip KNOX...

If they call it a safe root , charge 30 bucks and trip knox its .. well ... a "slight" rip off.

Depends on your definition of safe... If the phone still works afterwards it was safe, nothing is said of not tripping KNOX....

I tripped mine worry free, as you said, we own the device and can do as we please with it. Do I regret it? Nope not at all.
I am also going to trip it but my question, how to get backup of data and apps wo root? any links suggested?

I would suggest Helium, doesn't require root but you need to run the desktop application before you can backup.
Really simple and easy
It's blasphemy they sell the devices at a premium and we are not allowed to use as we see fit without any repercussions.
When would rooting ever make phone calls weak , buttons malfunction or whatever hardware related issue man..
@carleone82 if you are not rooting why do you need to trip the counter?

Wooooo root for everyone !
First thing i installed was viper audio, xposed framework, wanam xposed, maximize widgets and samsung multiple widgets.
Feels so much better already
Well, I got my Note3 N9005 (replacing my Note II) in beginning of October. Within an hour after I got home it was rooted with Chainfire's CF autoroute.
Do I regret - No Way, despite that the Knox flag is tripped.
I need the feeling of having full control of my phone and run Titanium Backup Pro, App Quarantine Pro, Root Explorer, File Manager Explorer, Nandroid Manager/Online, Mobile Odin Pro and of course SuperSU Pro.
In addition I use Philz Touch Recovery CWM which has just become available for the N9005. The rest of the phones OS is fully stock.
The tripped Knox flag doesn't really bother me. It's just a kind of a certificate to run Knox and I don't need to run that at all. I do see the point in Knox related to corporate security with a lot of employees running around with unsecured phones on the inside of the company firewall. Not to forget about all the corporate information on each phone totally unsecured. That's where the Knox container comes in handy.
As far as I understand, warranty is not an issue (atleast within EU) if Knox flag is tripped. If the phone is able to boot in Download Mode - just reflash (PC Odin) it with latest stock software. If you have a backup on the external SD card or your PC (you should), do factory reset before you send it back for warranty repair or replacement.
I have a hard time believing that it is possible to reset the Knox flag without replacing a chip on the MB or the MB itself.

Not strictly true. - It depends on the root method and which bootloader etc he has.- But yes your post does have truth in it.

Question about Temp Root (King Root) and Knox

Alright guys here's the burning question. I achieved temp root on the note edge using king root. Now If I use Titanium Backup to freeze and uninstall all the Knox elements then use CF-Root to get permanent root will it still trip the Knox counter even though there are no more remnants of Knox?
That's a good question, did you ever get this figured out? Also what build are you running and what version of King root are you using to achieve temp root?

Are we even sure that CF-Root will perma-root our devices, yet?

With either the Verizon or AT&T variants, you have to be running KK; the AT&T variant is ANK2.

[Q] Bricking the phone

Hey, I previously bricked my asus transformer tf700, it couldn't get into download mode, recovery mode or anything else, I didn't backed up nothing so it was pretty ruined.. I am afraid of my galaxy s6 so.. what can I do so even if my phone will hard brick or something else.. I will be just fine..
use helium to back up your phone, then use ping pong root to root it without flipping knox.

If you follow to the letters the instructions, the risk of brick is very low.
I can do it with you on Skype if you want.
Just PM me.

Rooted then restore to stock, will samsung pay still work?

I have a S7 still with stock ROM. I want to root it to get rid of some bloatware completely. I know I will lose Samsung Pay after root. But my concern is, will I get Samsung Pay back if I do an ODIN stock ROM restore? I read some post that I will get it back. But others say if I root and violate KNOX inside the phone, I will never get Samsung pay back.
Can people here confirm please?
Nope, KNOX is permanently tripped if you root, which disabled Samsung Pay and other things

Thanks for above replies. One more question: what is the best way of restoring my phone back to stock? My phone is still not rooted. Does flashing with ODIN to stock break KNOX? I want to restore to stock because I want to give my phone to a friend. I don't want any personal information remaining in the phone.

what is kbox ?

And what ti do if i tripped it ?
It is not kbox, it is Knox... If you tripped it... there's not anything you can do it is tripped and that's it. Shouldn't much limit the use of your phone.

Nope it's a physical fuse type thing on my phone that shorts out. Flashing stock via Odin does not revert it back.
SPay as well as other Samsung apps won't work (forgot which ones)
