So when I initially bought TiBU, it wasn't a key in the PlayStore, it's a .txt file. My question is, how do I get TiBU to recognize this .txt file so I can unlock the pro version? Or do I have to purchase again?

Have you tried reaching out to the developers? I have purchased it.. but I think when I did they had already moved to a different type of verification as I install the app, then the 'premium' one to get all my paid for features.. I found this.. http://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/tit...ackup-licensing.html#text-license-not-working on their site... did this work?

Sent them an email but you get an automated message back saying they receive lots of emails so try their FAQ site. Maybe they'll respond, eventually. I did try what was in the link but it didn't work. It says to place at the root of the SD card, but this phone has no SD card so perhaps that's the problem.

i am from the txt file days as well and ended up just paying again for the apk version as i switch phones and mess around so much i got tired of moving it around
Make sure it's named TitaniumBackup_license.txt exactly, and it seemed like Titanium used to require a reinstall after placing the text file.

By this I don't mean the batch process, that I know. But once you batch, you have to click install and done one by one until all the apps are installed. I jump roms a lot and am wondering if there's anyway to do this all at once without having to click individually?
One of those "restore all apps" batch functions doesn't work for you?
Go pro. Or you cannot use root explorer and Giro were your apparently are installed on your phone copy them and the using your PC put the in the same folder in the rom and then flash. Now they are installed just use titanium to restore the apps data.

Yes, you must go pro. I didn't buy the pro version myself, but I've heard from many others that that is the only way to do them all at once without confirming each app.
I can confirm that the pro version will do this. Well worth the money if you ask me.

TiBU has a feature to create a flashable .zip file for installing the applications. I have yet to try this, but it seems pretty cool.

AFAIK this only refers to a flashable zip of TiB itself (I thought otherwise before, but I tried it)
Still handy to use for restore if your new rom doesn't include TiB and you had to wipe your data and want to restore your g-account etc. first.
ok, thanks guys. the paid version does indeed just install without intervention.
this app is great. well worth the few $ for paid. had the license file in less than 15mins from paying.
good to see that the free version is still available anyway.
the installable zip file would be a great addition.
Hey,
Like the topic says.. just wondering how you go about uninstalling an app you can't see. When I use a backed up apk file to install it, it says it will replace data and such, then I click okay, and then gives me a message, "application not installed". So that's how I know the app is there...
Its just that nothing recognizes the app as being installed. No uninstall app, no system app... anyone know how to get rid of this app by means of file exploring and not wiping the phone clean??
Thanks all.

You would need a root-enabled file explorer such as the uncannily named 'Root Explorer'. Head into system/app and wipe out the .apk and .odex files. If it's not there, it may be in data/app
Good luck!

How do you know it even downloaded? If it downloaded I think it would apply the update immediately.Check in your about settings maybe it is already running the update.OTA updates won't delete your settings or apps or anything like that.

Use any Explorer( Solid Explorer recommended), go to /data search for that app(say facebook) related files and delete all files you find. Main file that is needed to be deleted is .odex file of that app.
for instance if whatsapp in not getting installed, then files like com.whatsapp.odex , com.whatsapp.apk and all other files related to whatsapp are needed to be deleted.
Install the app again then. It should get installed
If this doesnt solves the problem then you need to do factory reset.

I can confirm this after I've had this problem on both SGS2 and SGS4. The path is root/data/app, though, where you will find the .odex file of your and possibly other apps as the last entries.
Hi all,
I have rooted my nexus 5 for some time already and have learned about some really basic understandings regarding ROMs and android. I do realize the usefulness of nandroid backup so i made one with the help of ROM manager and its clockwork recovery. A while ago i flashed cyanogenmod and It all worked out quite well but I eventually decided to have my stock android kit kat back by restoring the nandroid backup. Everything worked out and i was happy.
I copied the backup files from the "secure location" /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup and to the sd card using es file explorer and eventually to my computer using the USB cable. Today i learned about xposed framework and i thought i would give it a try so i intended to make a nandroid backup again using the same procedure with rom manager (since i did make a few tiny changes to my phone since the last backup).
Here's the problem:
The rom manager app failed to backup or do anything as nothing happened after i pressed the "Backup Current ROM" button and clicked ok to the backup name popout.Even the recovery setup and reboot into recovery choices at the top of the app don't do anything after i press them. And i was stupid enough to delete the first backup files from my phone so currently i only have the backup on my computer. I tried to copy my first backup files back into the /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup folder but the path is gone as the /mnt/shell/ folder is empty.
I am desperate for some answers and support regarding this issue. I realize this might not be a nexus 5 problem so i am willing to move this thread to anywhere that's appropriate.
Don't use ROM manager. I've seen a lot of people bootlooping their phones after using it. Flash Philz Touch recovery and then make a nandroid backup from the recovery. See whether /mnt/shell/emulated/0/clockworkmod/backup/ has your files or not?

If rom manager takes a backup using cwm recovery, then YES. You can restore it via Philz Touch. Copy the backup folder and put it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/. This is where all my Philz Touch backups are stored. If philz is using /data/media on your phone then clockworkmod folder will be present over there. You can toggle these paths in Philz Touch.
Philz will detect /data/media/0 as sdcard so need move /data/media/clockworkmod to /data/media/0/clockworkmod
