[Q] Possible to titanium install all apps at once instead of clicking separately? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

By this I don't mean the batch process, that I know. But once you batch, you have to click install and done one by one until all the apps are installed. I jump roms a lot and am wondering if there's anyway to do this all at once without having to click individually?

One of those "restore all apps" batch functions doesn't work for you?

Go pro. Or you cannot use root explorer and Giro were your apparently are installed on your phone copy them and the using your PC put the in the same folder in the rom and then flash. Now they are installed just use titanium to restore the apps data.

Yes, you must go pro. I didn't buy the pro version myself, but I've heard from many others that that is the only way to do them all at once without confirming each app.

I can confirm that the pro version will do this. Well worth the money if you ask me.

TiBU has a feature to create a flashable .zip file for installing the applications. I have yet to try this, but it seems pretty cool.

AFAIK this only refers to a flashable zip of TiB itself (I thought otherwise before, but I tried it)
Still handy to use for restore if your new rom doesn't include TiB and you had to wipe your data and want to restore your g-account etc. first.

ok, thanks guys. the paid version does indeed just install without intervention.
this app is great. well worth the few $ for paid. had the license file in less than 15mins from paying.
good to see that the free version is still available anyway.
the installable zip file would be a great addition.

Install titanium backup without market

I flash roms a lot and there is something I need to find a fix for.
Once the flash is done I boot up and start initial phone setup menu. I have to sign into my google account at this stage obviously. So once that's done the first thing I want to do is restore my apps with titanium, so I go to the market for it, but the market straight away starts downloading ALL my apps at once when I only want TB to download. Only way to stop it is to go through the entire app list and cancel all the downloads, which takes a while. I cant let the downloads go ahead as it's far too many megabytes.
So I want a way to install TB without using the market. I've tried creating the update.zip in TB options and the zip does get created, but when I flash it from recovery it doesn't install.
Can I get the apk from somewhere and install it that way (I know you can push from cmd prompt although I've never tried it), and if so is there a way to do it on the phone only, as I often flash roms when I'm away from the computer.
When you enter your google credentials, it'll ask you if you want to back up your data. Uncheck it. Once your past that screen go into settings > privacy and assure automatic restore is unchecked.
The apks are in /data/app/ by the way.

I'm very familiar with these options. I always leave the option to backup to google ticked in case I ever need it (unlikely), but I always have auto' restore unticked, so I'm pretty sure that the automatic downloading of my apps is because the market app recognizes that I own them all when I sign in with my google account, and not because of auto' restore - but correct me if I'm wrong.
So how would I install TB using the apk. Does it have to be done with my computer? Is there another way. Root explorer would be great, but I'd have to install that the same way, which renders it useless in this particular case. What do all you experienced people do to get round this. Or do you just get through it the same way I do???
You can extract your TB using root explorer and save it on your sdcard. Sometimes its stored in /system/app or /data/app.
Usually roms come with a file explorer, so once you have a rom installed go to its file explorer and install your backed up TB. That's how I usually do it. Hope that helps.

markfavis,
you the man Your post helped me figure some stuff out. Your thanks meter just went up by a point.
I use ns_collab most of the time and I did not realise it came with root explorer preinstalled until you mentioned roms coming with a file manager. I did a bit of research and discovered root explorer is preinstalled with ns_collab. I never realised it was part of the rom as I already own root explorer so TB always restores my copy.
I've already made a copy of the TB apk files, so I reckon i've got this sorted for next time I flash a rom.
Just one more thing to check. The apk files I have backed up are:
com.keramidas.titaniumbackup-1.apk
and
com.keramidas.titaniumbackuppro-1.apk
Is this all I need to
I think you only need one of those files. One of em is the pro version. I only have one file and I install it like a regular apk file.

[Q] bloatware/root/misc question (new to root)

As to not hijack the Sideload thread, I have a few questions for a new thread.
I Rooted last friday for the sideload feature/screenshots because I'm a whore.
How do I remove the stupid AT&t bloatware?
how can I change what loads at startup?
and what do you do you with your root? what extra tool or function to you use now that you could not do with your stock rom
have you flashed a custom rom since rooting? most have the att bloat already removed. From what I've heard you have to be careful what you remove, say removing htc things from a sense rom could screw it up. There are several tools in the market for uninstalling apps. I was using root uninstaller but switched to another because of some negative reviews on the new version

Titanium backup. Don't let the name fool you. It does more than just backup.
Try the free version, but you really should buy it.
Cannot be overstated the value of this app.

I prefer to manage the apks myself. I bought root explorer, navigated to /system/app/ and made a folder called blacklist. After each rom I install I do this, comb through the system/app folder, and move any apk I don't want into the blacklist folder. This uninstalls the app, but allows me to have a backup incase I move an app that the system relies on.

Titanium is in-valuable for many reasons. For your particular question, you would need the Pro version, go through your applications and 'Freeze' them. This keeps them from loading and removes them from you 'Apps List' but does not remove them.

Actually u have to integrate/connect them with market. Use tit backup app. Long press on app that u want to link with market. Then choose 'attatch to market (forced)' option. Its so simple.

few are normal apps, few are the cracked ones.
better not try with anything cracked.
when you install an app from your computer in apk format, you should also be connected to wireless, in case something else gets installed at that time and stored in the apps files. most likely ripping an app from system or data will cause it to not have something the creator intended, which is why tying it to the market doesn't work... if you want to check for updates, then check for updates. if there's a more recent version, try installing the update over the old one. if it doesn't work, then copy all of the app data manually (go to /data and copy the folders for that app), then install the updated app, open it, close it, then replace all data with the one you copied.

It doesn't show the apps in my MY APPS in the market, but we can watch/update them from Titanium backup itself.
Thanks anyway.

Include Titanium backup in all ROMS

Its almost certain that people who change ROMs do so after taking a backup of their apps using Titanium Backup...and after changing ROM, the Titanium Backup has to be downloaded again to restore apps...which is of course a pain in the a$$...So why not include Titanium Backup as a preloaded app in ALL ROMs? It should be standardized...
maybe the devs don't have permission to distribute titanium.
Titanium has a "create update.zip..." function somewhere.
create a flashable titanium zip. flash your new rom, reboot into new rom (i don't think you can flash them on top of each other), then reboot back to recovery, flash the titanium zip.
From within titanium backup you create a flashable zip. This can be flashed from recovery after flashing a ROM.

@ OP : You can download the latest verison apk file of Titanium backup from the official site here & keep it in the root of your SD card, before flashing a new ROM.

Agreed. I would rather that every custom ROM was built with absolutely NO applications - just the tweaks / settings required for the ROM to boot up and connect to the outside world. Include Google Apps and anything else as zipped add-ons that you can flash if you choose, but I have never used FaceBook or Twitter and hate having to remove them post-install.
Anyone who regularly flashes ROMs will either be happy to download the apps they want each time, will have the .apk files stored on their PC, or will have a Titanium Backup of their apps.

If I'm allowed to I would like to contribute my opinion from the developer side.
First of all, at cm you can forget about the possibility, because titanium is closed source.
At aokp it's almost the same.
At other roms I guess it won't be included as well, because it isn't the only backup solution (if one is added, others want theirs to be added as well) and no dev wants to shoot into his own leg, because it is for sure handy and one of the best backup solutions out there atm, but it can cause many problems, not only when system data is restored from an incompatible version or at worst case from a different rom, also at other apps it causes fcs sometimes when they got restored with tb and the first thing many users do is to blame the rom for it before they try it clean (for sure not all).
I personally always use the built in backup solution from Google and only restore some save games with titanium.
I also agree with keeping the base as clean as possible, everything else is much user dependent and even if you find a base many users are happy with there still will be some that aren't and with keeping it clean it's fair play for anyone for my opinion.

Oops, it seems I got confused. I thought by a titanium zip, it was a backup of all your titanium backup apks. So simply flashing it will restore your apps...
I guess not, so I agree with Dan, it's pretty pointless, and it more cumbersome to remove.
Also Simon, I felt this way too during the Windows Mobile days, as there was no possible way to actually remove the apps from the ROM that the chef cooked it. I used to beg them in threads to release RIMs without apps!
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
The first time I had seen this option I thought so, too. But I always that it doesn't make any sense to me since I always prefer a clean install of a rom. So I never tried to make an update.zip until I read this thread.
The only time I think it makes sense to do it that way is when you have a limited data plan and don't want to keep your downloads low when you switch roms.
BTW you can install the update.zip as a user app so its easy to remove afterwards. I did that just for research and it works well. But, honestly, I won't do it in the future. As I wrote before I prefer a clean installation and download the needed apps again from the play store.

create a flashable zip of all your user apps, flash new ROM, flash user apps zip, dalvik cache wipe, and you're done restoring everything. hehe

This method is clearly unrelialable. As it doesn't backup my whole parameters.

You won't be disappointed. I freeze apps with icebox. Swift backs up more than just apps.
Of course, it's individual choice but I rely on OP Switch as my backup solution. I was a big fan for TB during my rooted days. With excellent Oxygen OS and OP Switch, I have no desire to root the phone anymore.

There aren't many apps on Oxygen OS that I consider bloatware. I use most of them. If I don't use a particular app, I simply disable it. If it still bothers me there are many guides online to debloat using adb commands.
I use paid version of AdGuard and have no issues with blocking ads. One license fee covers all 3 phones in my family.
