Actually u have to integrate/connect them with market. Use tit backup app. Long press on app that u want to link with market. Then choose 'attatch to market (forced)' option. Its so simple.

few are normal apps, few are the cracked ones.
better not try with anything cracked.
when you install an app from your computer in apk format, you should also be connected to wireless, in case something else gets installed at that time and stored in the apps files. most likely ripping an app from system or data will cause it to not have something the creator intended, which is why tying it to the market doesn't work... if you want to check for updates, then check for updates. if there's a more recent version, try installing the update over the old one. if it doesn't work, then copy all of the app data manually (go to /data and copy the folders for that app), then install the updated app, open it, close it, then replace all data with the one you copied.

oh okay.
Anyway mate, the Titanium backup method works.
It doesn't show the apps in my MY APPS in the market, but we can watch/update them from Titanium backup itself.
Thanks anyway.

i recently restored a lot of apps from the SD (i use apps2sd) and i realise that the Market won't normally recognise these as they weren't installed through the Market.
the problem is now i don't automatically get a prompt to update them.
is there a way i can force the Market to recognise these apps?
i'd also like to know if this is possible.
I think paid version of Titanium Backup can do that..
If they're free, you can uninstall and redownload them from the market. If they're paid, you should always be able to redownload them [for free] from the Downloads tab.
Slow and painful, but it works. (The reason there's no quicker way is probably to prevent pirates.)
Use aTrackDog... It worked for me...

So are you saying that when you install from the market, if if you have apps2sd, they install on the phone and not the SD card?

And where did he say such thing? He said that if you install apk through ASTRO, adb install, etc., then application will be not registered in Market, so there will be no update notifications for it.

The free version does as well. Alternatively, you can take a direct look at the data in question. I think the relevant records are in the assets10 table inside /data/data/com.android.vending/databases/assets.db

By this I don't mean the batch process, that I know. But once you batch, you have to click install and done one by one until all the apps are installed. I jump roms a lot and am wondering if there's anyway to do this all at once without having to click individually?
One of those "restore all apps" batch functions doesn't work for you?
Go pro. Or you cannot use root explorer and Giro were your apparently are installed on your phone copy them and the using your PC put the in the same folder in the rom and then flash. Now they are installed just use titanium to restore the apps data.

so if i buy the pro vesion will that let me select/multi-install without accepting the app "install" and "done" every time?
Hit menu>batch and you can restore all.

Yes, you must go pro. I didn't buy the pro version myself, but I've heard from many others that that is the only way to do them all at once without confirming each app.
I can confirm that the pro version will do this. Well worth the money if you ask me.

TiBU has a feature to create a flashable .zip file for installing the applications. I have yet to try this, but it seems pretty cool.

AFAIK this only refers to a flashable zip of TiB itself (I thought otherwise before, but I tried it)
Still handy to use for restore if your new rom doesn't include TiB and you had to wipe your data and want to restore your g-account etc. first.
ok, thanks guys. the paid version does indeed just install without intervention.
this app is great. well worth the few $ for paid. had the license file in less than 15mins from paying.
good to see that the free version is still available anyway.
the installable zip file would be a great addition.
Hello everyone
I have a very simple question, but it is bugging me so much right now!!
I use Facebook on my phone all the time, and I love how it integrates into my phone, however, I hate the newest app that came with the new firmware.
Now, not being a total noob I found the version I liked, installed it, and things were grand, but then, the next time I went to use it, the app had updated itself =/ so I downgraded it again, thinking I had done something wrong, and guess what, uit updated itself again.
My question is, how can I stop it auto updating itself??
I have gone to the market and set it not to update, and it still does it.
Any help on this would be great

You pushed the app to /system/app/ right? well delete it from /system/ and install it in /data/. Apps on the /system/ partition are classed as "safe" by android market and the market will auto update them, apps on data partition are not and you have to confirm update yourself

The thing is, the app doesn't even show up in the "MY APPS" section of the market, so I don't get why it manages to update, unless when it goes online it just updates thru the app without asking.

I think I done it!!
I went into /system/app and found facebook.apk whic was V1.7.1
I then took the .apk file for the version I like best (1.2.4), renamed it to facebook.apk, deleted the first one (1.7.1) and popped the other one in its place.
I still get the thing on the news feed of facebook saying there is an update, but it hasnt just done it automaticly, and i use titanium backup to totally detatch it from the market!!
Thanx for ur help mate, fingers crossed this works from now on

Guys see when I did a restore with my backup pro, all my apps got linked to the market! The apk ones also and when I broke the link they all come under not installed! And my whole app list in the market was erased! How can I get back my list of only market installed apps? Plus even when I factory reset it and install all apps manually, it does not come properly! And even if I install an app from the market the whole thing comes back like that! Please Please Help Me!
likely has to do with market cache, among other things. the good news is, selecting to install them again won't wipe the data
So what should I do to get only market installed app list back! Its very confusing! It linked all my apps to the market on its on!
were you restoring a previous backup from cwm using backup pro? I don't have the app and don't know how it works. if you were, then why not restore using cwm and using titanium to backup your market? this should help save the market data to reuse after using that backup pro app...
Its this simple
Download Titanum backup>open>menu>market doctor>market auto updates
This would attach the links of user app to the Market.
Guys no ur not getting the problem! All my 280 apps apk installed ones and also including market apps have been linked to the market! I want only my market(user) apps to be there! Should I try making a new account!
ok to remove the apps u needo follow the same steps but insteat in titanium backup>menu>market tool>destroy all market links.
then reattach them

I have only market auto updates and market doctor no market tools!
To remove all market link do this
Goto Titanium>"Menu button">Market tools> Select destroy all market links
To reattach
instead destroy all market links select market doctor.
See even when I break market links all apps including user and apk come under not installed! I guess I have to make a new account!

After destorying, try using market doctor the attach the links back. You can try force attaching an app to the market too, go to backup/restore and long press the app and select force attach to the market. It should work

How about this:
Delete all Market links
Remove the google account from the phone
Delete all app data of the market apk
Restart the phone
Open market app
Enter account
See if the my apps list is clean
If it is, restore only the links you want to have to.

I fianlly understand your problem. Here's what you can try. Backup the app using titanium backup, uninstall the app and install it again manually(without data). Then restore the data and check if its under the list. Btw, can you see all your apps? If you can't, try reinstalling.
Cheers

Try this (I really don't know if it works)
1) Settings=>Privacy Settings=>Back up my data and uncheck everything
2) Settings=>Applications=>Manage applications=>Market=>Clear data
If in 1) checkboxs are already unchecked... well, it won't work
edit:
If the apps appear as installed, try to break again the links with Titatiun Backup

What I think is: you restored the apps, then the market recognized them as market apps and added them to the "installed applications" list. Finally Android backed up that list. So now, when you break the links with Titanium Backup, Android Market shows them as "not installed" because they are in that list and considers them as not installed.
Its ok guys! I made a new account!
Hi Guys,
Every ROM I flash I try to Freeze/Uninstall and remove from Boot Many, the YouTube App.
I don;t use it ever, but even if it says freezed successfully it still comes back after reboot.
What's so special about it and will it creat a problem if I delete it and main question is how?
Thank you

In my other android device experience, Nook Color / Simple Touch, YouTube is instrumental in the Google Apps authentication process. For instance to get market working on nooted versions of those devices you had to sign into YouTube first.
Why are you trying to get rid of it?

Fair enough. Why don't you give it a try? Make a nandroid backup and then delete the file via ADB in recovery mode (or move it to /data/local/tmp for easy restore). Clear Cache / Dalvik reboot and see if anything isn't working properly.
I would say you can delete via ADB in ICS but many people, myself included, are having issues mounting /system in ICS. It could be possible that this failure for /system to consistently mount could be why TiBu isn't freezing it properly.
Use root uninstaller, its how I have removed all system apps since my gb 2.3.1 days on my x10. A very effective method
Thank you for responces.
The proper way I found would be to transfer it to a User App and uninstall.

I use 7zip. open the archive and delete it, or add whatever .apk you desire. I always do this before I even flash a rom. Winrar should work fine, though.
