[Q] Unfortunately, YouTube has stopped - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This problem started about two weeks ago. YouTube randomly popped up the default (useless) message stating that YouTube had crashed. It repeated the message over and over; I had to remove the app just to be able to use the phone. I fixed the problem by clearing the Dalvik cache and normal cache from TWRP, then reinstalling YouTube from the Play Store. That worked for a few days, then the problem started again. This is annoying but I was at least able to fix it.
Today, however, the problem started again and this time clearing the caches didn't work. I don't know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated to be able to use the app again.

Try to clear app data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Play Services, framework and YouTube. Reboot and try again. Uninstalling updates of YouTube or removing your Gmail account could help too.

I've now tried all of these steps--cleared data/cache for Store, Services, framework, Youtube, uninstalled/reinstalled YouTube, still didn't work. Removed Gmail account, rebooted, re-added Gmail account, still nothing.
I don't know if this is related, but as of several days ago (after this original problem started) my Google account no longer auto-syncs anything. I have to manually sync everything from the Accounts section of Settings. I use the Gmail app; very frustrating to not get updates.
If the problem persists whenever 5.1.1 gets pushed out I'm planning to do a 100% clean reset of the phone, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

[Q] Anyone having problem with installing apps from the market?

I have had the transformer for about 2 weeks with no problems installing any apps.
However I was unsuccessful yesterday and googled about clearing cache, but it didn't work so I had to factory reset.
Today, I'm getting the installation unsuccessful messages again. Is this happening to anyone else? I'm starting to get annoyed I have to factory reset to fix this problem.

This happened to me also, I did several factory resets, clearing cache, etc... nothing. Also, keep an eye on the GTalk app, if you can't enter the market, then it's possible that GTalk can't logon. However, the browser and other stuff should work.
What I did is created a temporary second Gmail account, then on the TF, go to settings and remove your account, then add the new temporary account. Again, clear the Market cache again and Google Framework cache.
Try to go market and login on GTalk, if you still can't, no problem, the same thing happened to me.
After that, I did another factory reset, during the initial setup, I used my original GMail account again. Everything started to work as it should, Market and GTalk.
The problem lies within the Google account, like something got stuck or another thing that I don't know. It was frustrating at first...
Occasionally google does maintenance and this seems to affect certain accounts more than others. If you suddenly just get this error then you're better off being patient and try again at a later time/date. Sometimes it's only a few minutes, other times it's hours. It's also worth trying to bypass the app entirely and try using a desktop browser to install.
i've tried using my desktop to install apps, but it fails as well.
i'll try giving it tomorrow to see if it clears up, if not i'll just have to factory wipe again.

[Q] Play Store, Gmail and Browser crash

My problem started when I decided to test out the "backup" and "restore" feature Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit with my unrooted phone (will be rooted soon). It did back up and restore everything I wanted more or less but now it seems that whenever I launch Play Store, sync my Gmail account or even downloading/saving a simple picture to sd card on a browser, that app crashes with the "Unfortunantely <app> has stopped" with "report" and "ok" as the buttons.
I tried clearing cache, clearing data and force closing the app and rerunning it but it will eventually crash again. One thing to note however, is that Play Store only crashes if there there is an app download in progress, which incidentetly does not start, Gmail crashes when it tries syncing and the browser (Chrome included) crashes whenever downloading a file.
I also noticed that when I select "report" when the app crashes and look at the system data that will be included, they all appear to be quite simlar, which means the problems might be related
So how do I fix this problem?
*UPDATE*
I finally fixed the problem by force stopping and clear data/cache for any apps that had to do with downloading, Play Store, media storage, Google services or Gmail, followed by a quick restart. I probably overdid it but anyways, it worked for me and I hope that if anyone has a similar problem, here is the solution

Unable to fix "Google play services has stopped"

Recently I have started getting an error saying Google Play Services has stopped, I have tried clearing the cache of both play services and the play store with no luck.
I have also tried clearing data, rolling back to the previous version & even as a last resort I did factory reset. Nothing seems to be working, now I'm thinking it may be related to another app?
Model: 6+ PE-TL10
Build PE-TL10V100R001C900B141
Play services: 7.5.71(1955121-038)
Play Store:5.5.1.2
Anyone else had this problem? or have any other possible solutions? it's happening every few mins now

thanks for the reply. just had a look at that file. Need root to delete though, maybe thats something to look at next..
Hey,
Did you manage to get this fixed? I've got the same versions as you and I'm having the same issue, its gradually getting worse. Message has gone from being occasional to once every few seconds. It's driving me nuts. :silly:
I've tried the normal tips suggested for other phones (wipe cache, un-install updates, shout at it).
Currently looking at one of the update files from needrom incase its an issue with 4.4.2. Failing that will try rooting and failing that i guess its a factory reset and fingers crossed unless anyone has a brain wave.
I assumed it was Play Services itself, which you can't delete to roll back (and test) but it seems to be an app, which I'd uninstall if I knew which one.
I saw someone else with a 6+ at an event recently who had the exact same version of Google Play services and he's not had the problem once. I get it all the time.
Honor is aware of it, although it's been a few weeks now.
I just went thru same problem, different device, but i went thru two hours of hell, until i finally figured it out..... Similarly i went thru same problem last week on my rooted Lenovo ideapad... And today i couldn't remember what the f¥¢k i did to fix it! Finally, with the error "unfortunately the process gapps has stopped" every two seconds and constant notification about Google play service needing update.... But damn device freezing cause button needs hit ok.... Finally i went and managed to between error message ; get into settings - application mgr - all - Google play services.... Clear cache data manage data force stop.... Them Playstore wipe cache +data, uninstall update....
Then back to main settings page, accounts - Google - uninstall all accts. Reboot....
Then i tried (soon as booted) to go play but it was stuck on weird error - no service (?? Was on wifi - wtf??) so Google search and said i need update and that took me to Google account set up... Reinstall account and you get the Google accept play messages and backup /restore checkbox.... After that all was good to go.... Yeehaw!! * Yipee!!!
Sure that there is probably a beer way to do it but i was cussing up a storm and ready to smash it into the wall! Thankfully i was patient and figured out a solution
I had the same problem twice, and i solve it by :
Uninstall the update of play service in app manager. (Clear cache mayby)
Reboot.
Let playstore reinstall the update.
That's all.
No need to delete Google acount.

I experienced same issue on my Honor 6 plus and it drove me mad. 100 times per day the same message popped up in different situations but I could not see any correlation between the appearance of the message and any specific activity on the phone. I only noticed that the message appeared more often when I used any map application like Google Maps or Nokia Here. I tried to fix it with all above mentioned solutions, deactivated most of the Play apps, cleared the app cash of play services and all GApps, cleared the system cash from stock recovery and nothing helped for more than 10 min. Finally I deactivated Google Now (via Google Settings) and suddenly the popping up of this message stopped. No single error message re-appeared since that (48 hours ago). So in my case the issue seems to be solved for now and finally I'm fully happy with the phone.

I am also getting this error since I got lollipop update on my honor 4 x and now on Android 6 on same devices.

I am having this issue... just got phone today.. seems like I can make calls and go to the internet.. but all Playstore Downloads show pending... I cleared storage / cache.. rebooting.. tried removing and adding back Google Account.. no luck.. Please Help.
Disable, freeze or uninstall the google app. this fixed it for me.
thank you @nichobrooks, I had already done a factory reset which also worked.. but if I have this issue again.. i will try this! Thanks!
I tried factory reset and it fixed it for a few days, then the problem came back. but the google app is the culprit in my Oneplus 6, My wife's Galaxy S9 does not have this problem.
Had the same issue and I updated Google play store manually via apkmirror. That helped.

Couldn't sign in - there was a problem communicating with Google servers

Started two days ago and booted me right out of Google Play. I didn't worry because I thought this is a WiFi error or google service might be affected.
After a couple of hours I started searching for a solution. There is no connection error, two wifi networks working.
First was to clear the cache on Google apps and services. I did that, reboot and nothing happened.
Second one was to remove the account and to add it back. I removed it, cleared cache, reboot. I was silly to test this, and now the phone is without any account - cannot add it back. cannot backup or restore.
Third one was speaking about some Google apps beeing disabled - I was encouraged that yes, indeed some Google app was disabled (Google Play Music). So I enabled it, I cleared cache, reboot and still nothing.
There was some old ideas that second-factor authentication might prevent connecting - I tested anyway, this is not the case here. Not connecting.
Any other idea or test? I am thinking of Factory reset.
