Is there anything other then sense? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I was wondering what roms work on my phone... I know most gpe's in the HTC (m8) section are out for Verizon but what about aosp based roms? Like cyanogenmod... I'm just getting bored of sense looking for something different

[Q] ROMS?

Im new here and I was just wondering if someone could tell me if there were any ICS roms that arent themed at all or stripped of sense or have any cutomizations added to the developer of the rom.Im basically looking for A rom that looks like the galaxy nexus as close as possible
Link in my sig for Virtuous Inquisition...
Ohh looks like I said it wrong in my description,Im looking for a ROM as close to as the software found on the galaxy nexus.
i'm not aware of anything as complete as the Nexus' build of ICS that is available for the sensation (but that doesn't mean there won't be as long as all these lovely developers keep themselves hard at work).
might want to give virtuous inquisition or hypernonsense a look.

Is it possible to port sense?

As the top line subject thingy asks... is it possible to port HTC Sense to the Samsung Infuse?
I've read articles about sense being ported to the galaxy phones..
Help me understand better?

Possible? Perhaps- it would require kernel change on a large scale and considering it has not yet been done during the time since the Infuse was released, not likely to be done. I believe I have seen a Sense theme somewhere, that's as close as it gets.
maybe over the new aosp kernels. way too much work over a stock rom. you would have to start with a nexus sense port and make changes from there. but remember there are still samsung libs and other blobs in our aosp so sense might not interface with that stuff very well. it has been done on the sgs with atleast partial success so i'd say it's possible but most people that like sense buy htc phones.. honestly i don't think it really offers anything over ics and jelly bean.
i know you can get a sense launcher over ics if that would satisfy you. maybe the widgets can be ported too but full sense might be a project.

[Q] HTC one x

There have been so many new phones available on the market that people and HTC have completely forgot about older phones. HOX supposed to have an update of kitkat, but due to their lacking support from Nvidia as they tell us, there might be a little chance of getting any update.
Sense 6 (sixth sense) is available now, with new look and bright color. And we wonder if any one out there care about these old phone and bring us the new Sense 6 custom ROM.
Is there any chance of release of the sense 6 Custom Rom. If not, can I request to release one.
I think you're in the wrong forum, you're mentioning the Nvidia chipset which leads me to believe you have the HTC One X Endeavoru, and this is the HTC One XL Evita forum.
Either way, it isn't just a matter of you asking for a ROM and it happening. The ROM would have to be ported from a device that already has Sense 6, and any device that already has Sense 6 is very difficult to be ported from.

Sense vs GPE

Has anyone tried running both Sense and the GPE ROM for any length of time? Any deal breakers with the GPE ROM. I have read through most of the forum over there, but I'm not allowed to post in development forums so I wanted to see if anyone could provide any feedback on the GPE ROM. I used to have the Thunderbolt but grew sour of Sense after a while. Now I'm pretty much over any manufacturer UIs like Blur, TouchWiz, Sense, etc. I'm looking for the pure android experience I get with my Nexus 7, but Nexus isn't available on Verizon so a GPE version of the HTC One M8 seems like about the best thing to try. Any thoughts on how this ROM works?

GPE is essentially pure AOSP. just comes with google apps etc. I personally love it, I just came over from the galaxy s4 a few days ago where I was running the GPE rom there and it was my favorite rom ive ever ran on any phone. I haven't used sense in so long im enjoying it right now, still running stock rooted s-off with xposed, but when I do start roming ill prolly just go straight to GPE.
I'll stick with sense IMO, many more features, very fast , and unparalleled functionality.

I've used the GPE rom for a few days and the sense based roms as well. In my experience it seems the GPE needs a custom kernel because there are a few things not working properly, the camera for example, and the overall experience is sluggish compared to the sense based roms. Stick with anything sense based right now, run a different launcher, and use xposed, that combo is killer and you get all the speed you can handle. Give the GPE a few more weeks and it'll probably be in full working order, at which time I'll definitely be going to it. So nice having a clean rom that was explicitly made for this phone from the manufacturer.
GPE isnt as good as some ASOP roms IMO. I typically run SlimKat, but there are many more out there.

Might get an M8vzw soon, wanna see how development is

So I had planned to stick with my old d2vzw (Verizon S3) through next year, but I think it just physically died on me. So I may need to upgrade way, way sooner.
The M8, I believe is the only phone on Verizon currently capable of flashing AOSP based ROMs. Can anyone chime in with how development is?
I've seen Liquid (my fav) and a GPE port are on this forum, but I don't see anything else. How is the ROM selection overall?
I can't leave Verizon, not an option. I hate them so ****ing much.
I am loving the GPE rom. Haven't had any issues at all.
There's a lot more roms available than just the ones you see on the VZW M8 forum. Check out the development forums on the regular M8 forum. Most of them work on Verizon but you need to read to make sure a given rom works on Verizon phones.

There's plenty of roms and tweaks available for the m8. I personally recommend it. I'm using the viperone Rom which is my fav as of right now.
HTC ONE M8?
LiquidSmooth, CleanROM, Vanir, AOKP, CM, BadSeed, InsertCoin, Viper, GPE, SlimROM, Pac-Man, Paranoid Android, etc. The usuals are all present and accounted for.

M8 is not the only vz phone that has AOSP ROMs available, G2, Moto X for an example. just have to look.
I've always been partial to CM myself. Love the M8, by far the best phone ever IMHO. I've used gpe port and viper but keep going back to cm.
If you want to get into development, I've never seen any project as well documented as cm. Their wiki can take any noob and have them building from source in just a couple hours.
