[Q] Weird Contrasty Colours after Boot - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just got my Galaxy S6 64GB Black two days ago and I've noticed the screen becoming very contrasty just after boot, then after I lock and unlock the device, the screen returns to normal. It's a bit hard to explain, but when the screen becomes "contrasty", essentially colours close to black, like a dark grey becomes black.
I've attached a screenshot and a photo of the screen, as you can see, the keyboard's background would actually appear black in the photo, unlike the screenshot. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems to happen only after booting up, and goes away after locking and unlocking.
I'm using an Optus Australia branded device, it has their boot and shutdown animation. I've also tried doing a factory reset, problem persists.

Ahh thanks for letting me know. At first I thought it was some weird hidden feature Samsung has employed to save power on their AMOLED screens, was digging around the settings trying to turn it off.

[Q] Dead screen now dimmer with vertical lines / banding

Hello. The screen on my wife's S4G today suddenly started acting funny. First, it wouldn't display anything, but it seemed the phone was still functional. Then, with fiddling on my part, I got it working again, first fully and now in a sub-par way. The phone boots fine - and I actually unlocked the bootloader and rooted, and in the process went through a full reset, just to see if that would help anything - but the screen appears dimmer than before and there's vertical banding across most of it. The banding doesn't completely obscure the screen, but it looks bad. One other thing I notice, and this is reported in other places, is that there's backlight bleed in the lower left corner, even when you just insert the battery, and often on booting, there's a flash of pixelated "dust" across the screen, that's brightest in that corner and fades as it spreads out.
Anyway, TMI probably. Does this sound to anyone like a bad screen, bad connector, digitizer, or something else? I'm totally new to any of these kinds of issues, but would like to save the phone, if possible. TIA.

Screen issues

My Moto G LTE has a stuck pixel. It appears white on background colors such as red/orange/yellow/white and disappears on background colors such as green/blue and black. Does this mean its broken or stuck? Or is it a software issue?
Also is this common or should I look to replace my phone? I have it for about 3 weeks now.

This is a dead sub-pixel(s), prolly a blue one. Basically it's not a big deal and they may even refuse to change it under warranty. If it doesn't annoys you too much, then just keep using the phone as normal and after a while you won't even notice it anymore.
Of course, using your warranty should be your first resort.

[Q] Defective display?

I don't really know what is happening but my year old nexus 5 seems to be developing a display problem.
It got a yellowish tint at the bottom of the screen but the top 3/4 is totally fine. What is causing it and is it just me who have this problem? Also, if you have any, please post some solutions to the problem without RMA or replacing anything.
It might be something about light leak but I am not seeing any when the screen is displaying a black picture.

I have a similar thing but it tends to only be on the bottom 1/8 of the screen.
I tend to find this is because this is the least used area of the screen - being where the soft keys go. Try running it full screen, full brightness on a white page (probably using something like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester&hl=en_GB). When you do this, does the yellowish tint fade over time?

By Over Time do you mean 30 minutes or a day? I tried this method before for about half an hour and it does not seems to be working. Will try it again now. But will it really help?
My OCD is killing me. I told myself not to look at the tint and I end up just staring at it.

Upgraded to Marshmallow (BTU UK ROM) Now slight yellow tint to display.

I have just upgraded my S6 to Marshmallow, I noticed straight away the screen now has a slight yellow tint,
this was not there on Android L, it also seems to lack the same sort of contrast it had before.
I asked a few friends to check theirs and the same thing has happened, I have tried a full wipe etc and messed with the display settings but still the same.
When you first turn the phone on, you see the Samsung Logo, it starts off a nice white and then you see it turn yellowish.
So something in the software has changed, I wonder if it is just the S6 that does this? Is it too stop screen burn from the blue pixels or have Samsung gone all Apple and gimped the screen to make the S7 look better?
Also adapt display > modepreviewtablet has gone in marshmallow!, although I didn't have to do this on Android L.
Either way I'm frustrated now.
My S6 (920I) has not had the screen change at all when updating...
Mine is exactly the same as it was on LP, no change and absolutely fine, now BTU UK MM.
If you watch your phone carefully when you switch it on, look at the Samsung logo and it starts off a nice white and then it gets a slight yellow tint.

I agree, but the same thing happens with Lollipop.

Mate 8 screen not working even after replacing it

Hello,
My Huawei Mate 8's display got suddenly broken while I was using it. The screen remains blank whatever I do. However the phone seems to work as the notification led blinks because of my unread messages. And when I press on power button for several seconds, it vibrates so I know it reboots.
I bought a new LCD replacement screen to a well rated ebay seller. I tried to connect the new lcd to the phone's connector, but it remained blank.
It is unlocked, rooted, with a custom rom, but I hadn't done anything on system for about one year. I tried power+VolUp+VolDown to enter in fastboot mode but it remains blank. It really seams to be a hardware failure, but not from lcd part.
- The original screen frame was white but the new one is black. Do you think it may be incompatible?
- Is there a part other than screen and complete motherboard I can replace to have my Mate 8 work again?
Thank you.
I can only answer to this: "The original screen frame was white but the new one is black.". It has nothing to do, my phone was white i changed to black frame and works fine without problems.
Thank you

It was an hypothesis but I was nearly sure it was false. But thank you for your confirmation.
