Dear all,
a 1 cm wide long horizontal line is broken on the screen of my One plus One. Unfortunately this line makes entering my pin code impossible. If I could unlock the phone I could change the pin code... I tried connecting a keyboard and a mouse to the phone but it did not work. Does anyone have an idea how I could enter the pincode, then I wouldnt have to replace my screen.

Install another Rom, or if it's the Pin of your SIM card put it in another phone and remove the Pin.

Thanks for the answer.
For future reference, I used an USB OTG cable and connected a Mouse, unlocking the screen and then I changed Pin code and screen lock. So my error before was not using an USB OTG cable.

I bought an inspire on eBay with a screen issues, I managed to fix it by changing the screen to a new one.
Now when i turned on the phone for the first time the screen works but there is a lock pattern that i don't the the combination to it and the seller also don't know it. i tried to root the phone but i cant access to the boot menu. after i read some topics i saw that it might be because a fast boot selected and it doesn't give me the option to enter setup.
any suggestion how i can solve it? is there an option to root via PC or some other creative solutions?
(the phone unrecognized by pc when plugged with usb cable so i presume it is in charge only mode)

Why doesn't the seller know it? Is it booting to Rom lock screen. Have you tried just entering hboot?

Sorry buddy, but that sounds fishy, that the seller doesn´t know the pattern lock. How come? Make sure that the phone is not stolen, because if it is reported it will be locked.
hi all,
as i said i have the unlock code, but can't enter it cause the touchscreen is damaged and don't work in validate botton, i can type the numbers but can't validate, damaged exactly at the validate botton !! strange héh !
so my question is, is there any software or solution witch i can enter the code with by cable ?

I have encryption enabled on my phone, when it restarted I can't enter my password as the keyboard is not popping up! Help any ideas on how to fix this issue or a work around?

Is it a normal password with letters I'm assuming?
Do you have a USB OTG cable? If so, easy fix. Plug it in, plug in a USB mouse or keyboard, then fix things.

I was stuck with a locked phone and a broken digitizer, and this was basically the ONLY way I was able to get into the phone to back everything up before doing some work on the phone.
Once you get into the phone, I would try going into Settings->Application Manager, then find the keyboard app and clear data to see if it comes up again.

We are in quite a unique situation here. Our Optimus G phone screen cracked while abroad and it was a month before I received and changed the digitizer screen. Now everything works well but she changed her pin code before it broke and now can't remember it. Anyways, wifi is turned off, mobile data is turned off . The screen is locked out and can't connect to google account because of no data.
I have been trying for days to get it fixed without a hard reset. She has very important files on the phone that we need off. I attempted ADB but with usb debugging (probably) disabled it isn't listed under adb devices in cmd prompt.
Is there anything at all that I can try?

I have no idea, we've tried over a hundred pin codes and none have worked, is it possible she never made a pin code?
Anyways, we have sent the phone back to her family in Korea to try and get a service center to unlock it.
If she didn't make a PIN, why the heck is the PIN entry screen showing?
So a bit of a conundrum, my sisters Samsung ZFlip3 has had some screen damage, and the bottom half of the screen has stopped working this morning so we are unable to unlock the phone.
Due to this we are unable to use Samsung smart switch but need to be able to unlock the phone to allow the smart switch to start.
Tried to use the ADB tool however, even though Windows detects the phone, the ADB tool cannot "see" the device, which I'm guessing is because the screen cannot be unlocked after a restart.
The Samsung Remote unlocking is not activated so cant backup using the Samsung "Find my phone" web app.
Can access Recovery mode fine, so not sure if anything can be done using that?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Did you try Google's Find my Phone too?
You could only wipe it from Recovery but it will still ask for the last used PIN or Google Account password, so not a solution either.
Another solutiom would be connecting an external mouse and writing the PIN by memory or casting the phone screen on another screen.

Thanks for that suggestion, not sure why I didn't think of that myself. The usb keyboard trick worked like a charm! Currently backing up the device!
