Question Lower screen damage, unable to unlock. - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

So a bit of a conundrum, my sisters Samsung ZFlip3 has had some screen damage, and the bottom half of the screen has stopped working this morning so we are unable to unlock the phone.
Due to this we are unable to use Samsung smart switch but need to be able to unlock the phone to allow the smart switch to start.
Tried to use the ADB tool however, even though Windows detects the phone, the ADB tool cannot "see" the device, which I'm guessing is because the screen cannot be unlocked after a restart.
The Samsung Remote unlocking is not activated so cant backup using the Samsung "Find my phone" web app.
Can access Recovery mode fine, so not sure if anything can be done using that?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you try Google's Find my Phone too?
You could only wipe it from Recovery but it will still ask for the last used PIN or Google Account password, so not a solution either.
Another solutiom would be connecting an external mouse and writing the PIN by memory or casting the phone screen on another screen.

Thanks for that suggestion, not sure why I didn't think of that myself. The usb keyboard trick worked like a charm! Currently backing up the device!
Thanks again!

I'm glad everything worked out in the end

[Q] [Too many pattern tries] How can I switch on wi-fi?

Like many others, I have become a victim of 'Too many pattern tries' and have got stuck at the lock screen trying to sign in without data connection or wi-fi. Is there any way to get past this without data rewipe. It's really stupid of Google to have a security mechanism that forces you to wipe your data, meaning anyone can just pick up your phone and spam the pattern till it goes to the email screen (which is what happened in my case).
I have a rooted phone with an unlocked bootloader and USB debugging enabled and I also have downloaded Eclipse Android SDK but have no idea how to use it. It would be nice if someone gave me step-wise instructions on switching on my wi-fi through the SDK so that I can connect over the internet and log in.
Of course, any other legit method is also fine, but the 'home button method' doesn't work for my phone (you know, keep pressing the home button). I have tried getting APKs that will help me bypass the lock screen but they dont work.

Android Device Manager is not able to pinpoint the location of my phone. Do I need wi-fi for this? The only options I see right now for my phone are to change the name, give it a ring or lock or erase.
I have finally found a way. No root or USB debugging required.

[Completed] How can I unlock my phone?

Hi!, I have a RAZR D3 (XT919). It ships with Android 4.1.2, but I upgraded it to 4.4.2. A few days ago, I dropped it, and the screen shattered, the screen itself it's not broken, I mean, it displays what it needs to, but half of the screen lost the "touch" capabilities, meaning that I can't input my unlock pattern. I've tried everything in order to be able to unlock it (do not ask why I need it to be unlocked, I just NEED it unlocked), I tried through ADB, but, USB debugging is not enabeld (it actually IS enabled, but I can't confirm the debugging access to my pc because it does not show up the window that asks for confirmation, and, even if it did, I would not be able to tap it not because of the broken screen, because I think the touch part that is still working is in range, but because it would not let me tap it in the unlock screen), I tried through flashing a zip file (actually, lot's of them) that in theory disabled the pattern... yet, no luck (I'm aware that I may needed to input a random pattern, it didn't worked), I tried a file manager made for recovery mode, didn't worked either. So, in short terms, I tried tons of things to unlock the damn phone (factory reset is not an option) and nothing works. I just don't know what to do, I will be buying a new one, of course, but I need it unlocked right now. Oh, I also tried with a USB-OTG cable with either the pc keyboard and mouse, the device simply does not support it. So... yeah, I'm pretty much screwed. Don't be afraid to post any complicated solution, just keep in mind, to make it as clear as possible, thanks for caring and I hope somebody would be able to help me!

How to recover data black/broken screen S7

Hello, few days ago my phone's screen stopped working. So I cannot access my phone since its locked behind pattern lock. I tried with ADB but I keep getting ADB Device Unauthorized and I don't know how to fix that.
As far as I know I believe USB Debugging is enabled. I tried a lot of ways with useless one click apps, mirror screen apps but nothing work as I need to unlock phone to give permission to the computer to communicate with the phone, but I cannot do that since the device screen doesn't work and I cannot see anything. I have an OTG cable and tried to unlock with mouse but its easier said than done.
Can someone give me any tutorials.
It requires a couple of your phones internal software switches to be set in order to access your phone via the USB interface. If you have not already set these switches before the screen got broken you may be out of luck.

Motorola G8 Power: Accessing data without opening lock screen

Hi. I just want to confirm the following first:
- The phone is mine.
- My fingerprint is stored on the phone
The screen got cracked so I had it lying around for 6 months before I got screen replaced. Now no pin code I have goes past the lock screen to open up the phone. I have set it to fingerprint unlock too.
My question is:
Can I access the data without opening up the phone? Going into some sort of developer mode on the phone?
Is it easier to bypass the lock screen and go to the fingerprint option?
I just need some pictures I have on the phone. The phone itself is not important for me to use anymore.
In advance thank you for all the help and if this is not in the right section please let me know where I should go with this.
If phone supports OTG then it should be possible to access user-data stored on phone connecting PC and phone via an USB-C OTG cable.
Thanks for your message. How will I know that the phone supports OTG?
EDIT: Seems like my phone does not support OTG. Mostly Samsung and LG.

Thank you for finding this out. What would be the software needed to use to get the data extracted?
Once connection is established you should see the Android's /data partion on Windows computer using Explorer.

Without needing to open up the Motorola phone?
Phone of course must got successfully powered on: Then it's detected as any USB-Host device, too.
I have ordered the OTG cable. It will arrive tomorrow. I will give you an update on how it worked here.
Thank you.
I just talked to Motorola support and their view was that it would not work. I will still try this but not sure if this has to do with the fact that the phone is in lock screen mode?

Cant unlock phone with broken screen

I have a problem, I have a Samsung galaxy A32 with a broken screen, both the display and I believe the touch screen too. let me be clear that this is my phone, and I know the passcode to it. but I have no way of inputting the passcode to unlock it. I just want to get some photos off it. is there any way I can input the passcode without the use of the touch screen? 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 I have seen people use a mouse and a usb OTG, but I can't see the screen so that's no good for me, and I can't mirror the damn thing to my computer because I have to unlock it to enable the feature, it's driving me nuts. again I'm not looking to bypass the passcode, I want to somehow input the code while I can't use the screen. thanks for any help.
You can try using your Samsung account if you have created one which you can use to unlock your phone. You will need to go to the Samsung Find My Mobile website and log in with your account. Once you are logged in, you can follow the instructions to unlock your phone. This should mostly help you get inside your phone!
