There should be the option inside of cellular networks inside settings. Personally I haven't even on TMobile since before the smartphone days but you "should" be able to change it. Don't hold me to that however

Hello,
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3. I have rooted it about a month ago, and just yesterday switched to the AOKP rom. Everything was working well, except I have run into a couple issues.
1. Won't connect to 4G. I have a 4G data plan, and when I am out somewhere, it won't connect to 4G. Anyone know what to do?
2. I can send picture messages, but when I get them, it says "Download". I click Download, and it just loads with 0% and won't download them.
The biggest issue is the data plan not working, so I really need help with that. Thanks to whoever can help! Majorly appreciated!
-John
Can anyone help? I'm leaving for a trip soon and really need it fixed.
What modem are you running? I had data problems too until I upgraded my modem. I can't post a link yet because of my post count but if you google "verizon galaxy s3 modem" you'll find download links to flashable modems. I'm currently getting the best results with I535VRLK3 in my area. You'll just have to see which one works the best for you personally.
Also check what network you're on (I'm on a TW rom right now, so this might not be the right place to look, but... )
Settings - Wireless and Network - More Settings - Mobile Network. Make sure you're on CDMA/LTE

Also in Access Point Names make sure that you have LTE selected and not EHRPD. Some time it auto switches from LTE to EHRPD. If you notice that you are mostly in 3G it probably switched from LTE to EHRPD, at least that is my experience

This is my friends Nexus S. She is not rooted and I dont want to have to do that for her.
Her problem is that she can make phone calls but cannot use data. She has a data plan, but when wifi is switched off she cannot connect to the towers. I have checked all the network settings they are set for Sprint so I dont know what to do.

Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2

So did u update the profile & PRL yet?
Call sprint and they can run u down the fix list with dial prompts so call from landline.

Hey guys, sorry if this question seems a bit silly but I'm rather new to the nexus world and don't know too much about Metro PCS and what their network requires.
I'm looking to buy my mom the nexus 5 since she really needs a new phone and she is on Metro PCS. Would she experience any issues on Metro PCS's LTE network or anything like that if I grab the N5 that's available in the play store now? I do believe that Metro PCS is currently running on T-Mobile's network, but I need to be sure.
Also, what kind of SIM card will the N5 require? Hopefully it's a micro so there won't be a need to head over to a metro pcs store to get a correct one.
Thanks!

N5 uses a MicroSIM card.As far as the other questions you ask, I cannot answer them confidently.
MetroPCS' LTE is TMobile's LTE.

Yes, microSIM. Also if your Mom is currently using a CDMA/LTE device from Metro she will probably need a new SIM.
The only thing to be aware of - unlike T-Mobile itself, MetroPCS SIMs require you to register the device IMEI with Metro and then they lock it to your device. So if she swaps it to a new phone, it may not work until Metro gets it properly registered.
What APN settings worked for MetroPCS and your Nexus 5?
I went to a MetroPCS store today with the Nexus 5 I bought from the Google Play store. I only had about 30 minutes to mess around with the APN settings. but I was unable to connect to their network with the test microSIM card the worker had. I got the LTE bars to show up, but the connection never changed from the white "I'm still trying to connect" mode to the solid blue "I'm connected" bars. If anyone has a successful experience with this, please let me know what APN settings you used. I know it is an unlocked phone and should work, but the Nexus 5 wan't in the MetroPCS system as a compatible phone (which I assume is due to the fact that it just launched a few days ago).

FYI, I don't think KitKat uses the white/blue distinction anymore. Did you test using apps or the browser?

You are correct. There is no white/blue distinction. I've only had the Nexus 5 for a few hours and have been used to Cyanogenmod on my Nexus 4 for the last year. Yes, I did test apps and the browser. I got errors in the apps and the browser wouldn't load any websites.
I am currently on Solavei (and it works on the Nexus 5) and have switched carries 5 times in the last year, so I'm quite familiar with APN settings. I appreciate the idea though. Sometimes it's a simple answer.

Okay good to know. I have less experience with Metro PCS but it seems that T-Mobile wants to keep them a bit more locked down.
Note the LTE connection. On ATT. I previously had a BB on it, then a Nexus 4, and now the Nexus 5.

If the issue persists I would contact the service provider.
Check your APN, it might not be set up properly. I don't know the exact one you need to be using for your plan/service, but I'm sure a quick Google with your specific setup will prove useful.

Unlike my N4 I was wondering if the N7 has the option to be on a call and still be able to use data simultaneously... That was the biggest bummer for me with the Note 4.
I wanna upgrade to the N7 but it is a feature that is actually very useful, for when you are on a call and need to send a file or look something up on the internet..
thanks!

Nope. Sprint will not have this ability until it upgrades it's network to VoLTE. Probably in a few years, as there is not any sort of hint they are beginning to upgrade their towers.

aww man!!
I remember when I had my htc Evo 4g LTE and it did work..
I wonder why being a sprint phone it worked ad not on Samsung?
I believe it worked on WiMAX but when Sprint abandoned that and moved to LTE, that functionality disappeared. Beezar is right. Sprint won't have it again for a while.

My note 3 did it but only in 4g areas
Sent from my SM-N930P using XDA-Developers mobile app
The note 3 had separate antennas for data and voice.
Bluefox is right, sprint phones only have one antenna that the voice and data share. I've looking into this, and that's what I was told.
