Hi all
I just received my online-ordered T-Mobile Galaxy S6 White 32Gb.
Looks beautiful, screen is great, no purple/green discoloration going on. Great camera, very happy with my phone.
Thing is, on the back of the S6 beneath the glass, my IMEI and S/N number are visible. Its not a sticker, its just there.
Is this normal? Just seems weird to me.
I've seen other Galaxy S6 pictures, which it has 'Galaxy S6' written on the back, mine doesnt, just 'Samsung'.
My model is made in the UK, which also is on the back of the device.
All glass backed phones have the imei and sn on the back!

The sticker that was stuck on the back cover of the phone when it came out of the box. That and the settings application. Only two places you can get the S/N.

Hi all
So my S4 had an issue where it kept flashing the S View Cover UI (the black display with clock) even though I don't even own a S View Cover or use a magnetic case. I took it to Samsung Smart Care, they gave it a new mainboard, but the issue was still there.
I took it back to them yesterday, this time they replaced the entire LCD with the Frame, phone looks brand new and the S View issue seems to be gone.
So I'd just like to know out of curiosity, does the Magnet sensor come in the Screen assembly e.g. in the frame? If not, where is it located?
Doubting I'll get an answer here, will post in Q&A.
Yeah you have more chance in Q&A . But i cant help you bro. Never took my s4 apart

That's fine mate no harm done, maybe most here have never taken their S4s part.
Cheers!
Just Google S4 teardown. A few sites have done it I believe including ifixit.com.

I had taken my phone in to Samsung twice for the s-view clocks issue. 1st time they replaced the mainboard and the proximity sensor. The s-view clocks flashing still persisted.
I downloaded a tear down of the i9500 and couldn't find the magnetic/hall sensor. So I took my phone back to Samsung and this time requested to explain to a technician before they did any repairs.
The technician confirmed the sensor is in the screen and within 30min I had my phone back with a new screen (and a new USB port, tech said it looked worn).
I'm happy it was the screen becoz I had some of the chrome paint chipping off of the bezel and its been 2 days with no flashing.
Hey... My screen shattered this past week while playing hockey (the puck hit my phone) and now the screen is completely blank.
I'm looking to order a nice screen, could someone please suggest where I could get one in Canada?
Thanks!
Only in Canada...sorry had to
Your digitizer is hosed. Find a replacement on Ebay.
Then look to youtube to study tear-down/disassemble tutorial because the S5 is not as easy as previous Galaxy models.
I replaced mine several months ago and all is well.
As a hockey player myself! left wing\defense. Where was your phone?

What adhesive did you use to secure the screen back to the housing? I see a lot of pre-cut adhesive stickers on ebay, and I bought a few of them. They're not as sticky as the original.
I seem to remember purchasing one of the black ones. Mine went back on ok but you'll never get a perfect seal again so forget about water resistance. That's gone for good.
Luckily I have a Zero Lemon extended battery so the case serves to keep the glass pressed against the body of the phone. I don't think I would trust the screen to not eventually lift free if not for the overlap of the TPU cover that came with the battery.
I've replaced glass on my S3 and S4 and used TPU covers on them afterwards for the above reason. Again, once the glass or digitizer are changed, they never adhere back as well as they were from the factory.
hey guys mrs has had the s7 a few days before release date and has dropped it, and luckily enough it wasnt the screen but matter of fact cracked the back of the phone now i need to know if you can buy the glass or weather its a whole back that i need the problem ive got is that the IMEI number is actually located on the back of the phone.
If its in the wrong section please remove

It's gorilla glass, likely fused to the body. If you could clear the adhesive completely and actually find a supplier for the back panel you could likely replace but I don't know of any.

I'm pretty sure that info is beneath the glass but either way the information is in the Settings menu under about phone. The S6's glass could be replaced and I'm 99% sure the S7 will be the same once people get ahold of spare parts to sell.
I have the same issue I'd just use it . it's still water resistant due to film behind the glass.
My concern is water resistant quality that will be compromised by doing the swap
Buy a dbrand skin and cover in up?
Just saw this on eBay. It looks like it includes color on back side meaning loss of imei.

Why do you care about the IMEI on the back of the phone when you can just go to settings>about phone and check the imei there lol.
Just get a skin and cover it up!
The camera glass on the wife's phone somehow cracked. She says she has no idea how it happened. Her history with cell phones tells me otherwise. Have any of you had to replace it for whatever reason? Based on videos the phone looks fairly easy to disassemble. Does the glass just pop out once the back is?
Thanks for the help

Just contact Huawei Service Center. They'll replace it as long as you have your warranty
Just disassembled the S8 active and gotta say I found it to be much easier than working with the regular S8 or prior phones. Glad to see it comes apart from the rear not the front!

Can you confirm at all that the motherboard is the same as a regular s8? looking at all of the parts it appears so. My plan is to buy one of the bad imei or frp locked phones and do an exynos swap on them and remove that dumb plastic screen cover. The only thing that I cant really find confirmation on is the power and button flexes. They are hard to find for the active and the one thing that could possibly be different between the two s8 versions.

Sorry for the late reply, I have not personally taken apart the regular S8 so I can't be too sure, but I would assume they would keep the main board the same but I could be wrong. The plastic screen cover helps the screen to be shatter resistant. Removing it would make the screen prone to breaking easier.

I actually did some more research and ended up going a different route. The board and button flexes are indeed the same parts but I moved back to a custom housing iPhone for a while :/
Hi Guys, noob here. I got a S8 Active motherboard that someone gave be but I iddn't know the difference so I just went and bought the frame and LCD for a regular S8 on eBay. Then I realized I might have bought the wrong one. Can you confirm if the S8 Active logic/motherboard is compatible with regular S8 body and other parts. Thanks.
