It was working for a week and just noticed it stopped.. when i went to the settings, there isnt the option anymore..
anyhow its happening to alot of peeps...

anyone here experiencing the same or find a solution?
My buddy is also experiencing this. None of the potential fixes he found worked. Reverting to old versions, clearing data, or enabling "Enhanced" voice support didn't fix it.
I've seen some people mention Google disabled the feature due to the phone picking up excess background noise and interpreting it as "Ok Google."
Gone for me too.
Weirder still (and completely infuriating), that option is gone, but I now have "trusted voice" under smart lock, but of course no ability to use it.
Yeah.. why wouldn't google or samsung communicate what they did and what they will do about it... hmmmm
Ok Google missing
I wonder if it has anything to do with Samsung's S-voice being able to open the phone from a "screen off" position?
Maybe Samsung and Google fighting it out?
Just resurrecting this to see if anybody knows of any updated info on this?? I really miss this.
It is now fixed!!!!! simply go to the play store, or your application manager, uninstall updates and reinstall.
I can confirm it is back up and running look likes it was a conflict with Samsung voice...
My google now from any screen no longer works as well

Mine just showed back up in the settings, but if it's not showing up simply go uninstall the updates then update them manually from the store... [emoji106]

Ok, so yesterday my Infinity just randomly started reading out all the content of my internet browser (both ICS browser and Chrome), I haven't noticed it anywhere but in the browsers at this point. I've disabled TalkBack, tried uninstalling every app I installed yesterday incase one of them was the cause, reset the settings in both browsers, flushed my caches, and did a cold boot. Still reading out.
I found that if I disable whatever text-to-speech engine is currently being used (either default Google or IVONA) it obviously won't readout, but you can still see where it is "highlighting" the text in the browser that it is attempting to read.
This is thoroughly annoying not just because of it reading, but also because when it is reading something it makes browser navigation extremely buggy.
I'm at a loss right now. I don't know what else to do other than a factory reset, but would really rather avoid that if I can. Any ideas?
Side Note: If I were to do a factory reset, would I lose root?
Thanks.
I gave up and just did a factory reset. This seems to have alleviated the problem for now. I'm just hoping that it wasn't caused by one of the apps I had installed, because I'm in the process of re-installing them now.
I haven't spotted a toggle for the text-to-speech engine yet, so it might be one of your apps that toggled it. (Under Settings you can choose a different engine if you have one installed, but there's no toggle. <?> )

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too (one of my apps must have triggered it). So far so good on after the factory reset though. I had tried installing IVONA to see if that woudl give me an option to disable it, but all it did was give me a more pleasant voice to listen to

Hi;
I got an ASUS AF700 and it just started to talk to me, reading and highlighting my browsers and other apps.
Did you guys ever figure it out?
It's VERY annoying.

You can disable "Talkback app" using Titanium backup (if you rooted) or go into settings -> Accessibility --> Under Services, tab on Talkback and turn it off.

You already asked this a few days ago. Do you ever read the answers people post in reply to your questions?
I just disabled the thing in apps/all on day 1, toggling it to 'on' under settings/accessibility has no effect whatsoever.

For some reason, the talkback service has decided to tell me it is activated even though it is not. I have a persistent notification that won't go away. Since it's a system service, there is no way to just hide the notification. Any ideas?
Clearing the cache and rebooting didn't help either.
Did you ever figure this out I have the same problem on sprint. You can't even disable the Talkback app.
Nope. I did a factory/hard reset last night. Still the same issue.
I haven't installed any apps I didn't have on my GS5, so it can't be an app's fault. Going to do an exchange at the AT&T store in the next day or two. I'm not getting stuck with something like this.

This would be a workaround (if it does work), but try tapping and holding on the notification, and then click on the "i" icon to see which app is displaying the notification. If it's a stand-alone app (i.e. not the Android system), then you should be able to block notifications for that app.

Thank you, but it is the system app doing it. I'm just going to swap for a different S6 at the store tomorrow. Got my app data backed up to the cloud thanks to Helium.
The messed up part is it literally happened right when I got my phone. I'm gonna try a factory reset then if not try to get it swapped out
@dizzymatt Still have it? It mysteriously disappeared for me today. I was literally going to go to the store this afternoon to exchange this thing. Maybe I got lucky or sensed I was coming!
Afterward, though, the oddest thing happened. I was looking through the store for a different Google product and came across this one called Google talkback. I thought that was very weird to find right after I had had this issue. When I clicked on it, it allowed me to uninstall it. Never saw it in my apps list or the application manager, but there it was. Again, this is after the notification went away from me so I have no idea if this is related.
Here is the link. Maybe uninstalling it will help you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.marvin.talkback
Seen what you said and I didn't have the app installed but it just disappeared for me too after I rebooted my phone I wonder what it was.

Now I'm wondering if it was related to Google Now since the notification and the ability to say "Ok, Google from any screen went away about the same time.
Disabling Talk back
I got stuck on a 15 minute hell ride when I accidentally turned on my Talkback feature on my new S6. I couldn't turn it off even after toggling the stupid settings. I finally was able to turn it off by tapping the home screen button three times.. apparently that is the On/Off switch for the accessibility features. After it finally stopped talking back to me I went in to manually toggle the off button on that ridiculous feature.
Same problem / solved ?
I had same problem with notification
Decided I would try enable, so that I could then disable
Seems to have done the job
Just started having this issue today. Previously I was able to say OK Google anytime the device was on. Now it seems that I have to actually open up the Google app to get OK Google to work. Anyone else have this issue? Resolutions?

I can't use OK Google, and OTA doesn't work because the OTA process detects that I'm rooted, and tells it tells me No Update for you. Why does Samsung always have to make things more difficult than they should be?

The same thing happened to me. Though my situation was a bit weirder. I got it to work this morning (about an hour ago), then 5 minutes later, it wouldn't and the setting to use it from any screen disappeared.
I'm having the same issue.
My "OK Google" detection from any screen option disappeared.
same here
option is gone
only work if i have the widget on home screen
Weird, I keep seeing this issue pop up in several threads. Mine works just fine. For what it's worth, I'm on the latest OTA and rooted, using Nova Launcher.
Same here. I have even tried it the first time with the lock screen, but now I can only use it with the screen on. Options for screen off have dissapeared
I just updated my google play services to this one
http://www.talkandroid.com/245692-go...d/#more-245692
installed the apk, now my google detection from any screen is gone now to , might have to do with this version of the play services.

Hi everyone.
My wife has an S8 and recently she has noticed that she hasn't been receiving notification on Facebook messenger.
Me thinking it was an easy problem to solve went into the phone setting clicked on notifications and found that the notifications for the app were all on how they should be.
Then I went into the app settings and checked there and everything was right.
Then I restarted the phone and it still wouldn't work.
Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still no success
I even got my phone out an S7E and checked how the settings should look on mine and hers matched my settings.
All her other apps are working except this one.
Am I missing something here, because it doesn't make any sense why it's not working. I performed a stock flash on the device about a month ago to 3 software, so she could have wifi calling but I don't see how this could of affected this one app and none of the others.
If anyone has any suggestions here I am all ears because I am out of ideas.
Make sure that it's not being forced close by the S8's onboard memory manager... sometimes it shuts down apps and you won't get notifications. Double check in the battery settings (you can get there from settings or the swipe panel) to see if the Messenger app itself is active.

Hi people, I seem to have solved the problem.
I followed the suggestion and went to the battery setting. In those setting there was an option for unmonitored and monitored apps. When checking the list of apps that were in these setting everything was right, including the messenger app in unmonitered app section. I removed it from that list and didn't bother adding it back.
Tested.........and it worked....I even got other people to message her in different situtations and it worked and still works.....not added it back in to the list yet, as long as it keeps working I prob won't
Just as title. It just started happening earlier today, which I'm not sure what could've caused it. (no falls or anything today in particular)
The blur is the exact same as Goodlock's blur feature when you opened the status bar (if you enabled it). I tried disabling it but some (yes not all of my games) stays blurred.
What I did earlier were reboot, which somehow fixes the blur. But at the same time, a different game app is blurred. More reboots and sometimes theres even less blurred games, and sometimes almost all of them are blurred.
Does it mean hardware failure?
hi, i am having the same problem. all my games are blurred on S6 Edge FB etc is fine

hi, i am having the same problem. all my games are blurred on S6 Edge, but the likes of facebook and twitter are fine. i hope a solution happens fast!!
Hello. All my games are blurred too. It started two days ago. Rebooting doesn't help. Clearing cache doesn't help. I also uninstalled and reinstalled one game to see if that would help and it did not. I downloaded a brand new game and was able to play it just fine and then shut it off and this morning when I turn it on, that game was also blurred. I contacted my phone service provider yesterday as I figured it was something wrong with my phone, and they couldn't figure it out either. I've been Googling for an answer so if somebody has one out there, please, please, give us the answer on how to fix this.
Fixed mine
Hi mate, i cleared all my phone and boosted cache. Then turned it off for around 30mins then turned it back on it worked fine
Thanks
Scott
Same issue to me too

I am also having this issue in my S6 with some games and apps.
The only way to solve it is to fully reboot the device.
When it is up again I have to open the game inmediatelly.
If I open something else first, and then the game, it becames blur once again.
Fixed blurred games.
I found another thread on this site with a suggestion and it worked. Of course now I can't find that thread but found this original thread. Anyway, here's how I fixed it. Go into settings, application manager, game optimizing service and then click on more, and undo updates. After doing this it was still blurred so then I did a force stop on the game optimizing service and then everything worked again. All my games are clear and functioning normally.

If I could put up 100 Thanks, I would. This was driving me crazy for two days. The annoying thing is I don't have Google set up to auto update ANYTHING, so I thought it was potentially a hardware issue. Must be a Samsung app update... I'll have to freeze the Samsung app service, I think...

You're welcome, but thanks really needs to go to Ekrezem and PiperTim. It was on another thread here at xda-developers. I appreciate when solutions are made in clear terms for those of us who aren't as tech savvy. That's why I made my post step by step clear. I hope it helps a lot of people.
I applied the same solution, but my GOS keeps auto-updating, and auto update is turned off! Is there a way to stop this nonsence? Is there an official forum or something where we can report it??
Blurry games on S6 edge v6.0.1
My question exactly: did all recommended. Cleared cache, cleared that other thing with a reboot (pressing on/off, volume up, home button) managed to play one game with no blurry image but it started all over again...
I have a Samsung s6 edge v6.0.1
All help very much appreciated

Exactly! Since the 28th march this nonsense is on.... anyone have already solved it?
Found a permanent solution
I've found a simple solution, no wipe cache no reflash, no nougat upgrade etc
All you have to do:
1. Update game optimizing service via galaxy apps store (and dont ever clear data or uninstall)
2. Install samsung game tuner via google playstore and set default to maximum quality (don't forget to save your settings) and restart. You can uninstall this after.
