[Q] Help! my phone is dead - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
Last night when i went to bed my phone was working perfectly fine, it still had around 75% battery life. This morning i found it completely dead.
I can't turn it on at all, i have had it on the charger for over 2 hours so the battery can't be empty. While its on the charger the notification LED is lit up. I have tried the two minute press but no luck. No matter what i do its not turning on at all, also its not vibrating at all. I hope you guys can help me out, since i'm clueless at this point.
Cheers,
Joey

If you have a windows machine, connect the phone to the computer and see if it is recognized as anything in device manager. If you see something like "qhsusb", the phone may be bricked and you'll have to try and unbrick it.

[Q] X10 Mini Pro U20i not turning on!

Hey guys,
So I rooted my U20i, then went to unlock the bootloader. Somewhere in the process of unlocking the bootloader, something went wrong, and now the phone is completely unresponsive. Like, nothing works. If I plug in the USB cable, the computer does not recognize it. If I try to power it on, nothing happens. It's essentially 100% dead.
So, what can I do? I tried using SEUS and the companion software, but it won't recognize the phone. As far as my computer knows the phone isn't plugged in. Can I purchase the DavinciTeam reflash? I'm really at a loss for what to do since I've never had a handset just completely stop functioning in every way before.
Thanks.
Every other time I've heard of someone bricking their phone, it has always still been recognized by their PC when plugged in, but this phone does not even get recognized. I'm really at a loss for what to do.

[Q] Phone won't charge, no LED, USB makes on/off sounds but won't recognize device

Hello! Last night, my phone died while I was out. When I got home, I plugged it into the wall charger and I noticed the LED didn't come on. I left it charging overnight for about 6 hours and tried to turn it on - no luck. I read on another topic that you needed to charge it to ~2% through USB for it to begin charging on the wall if it's "too" dead, so I left it on my laptop for an hour but again with no luck. I did notice that my laptop couldn't recognize a device though, and since my phone was the only thing plugged in, it means my phone was 'on'. I held the power button and the device disconnected, held the power button again, the unknown device reconnected. So my phone is turning on and off, so I wondered it was my screen. I turned it on, but no sounds worked when I messed with the volume button, so I'm going to rule the screen out. Despite being able to turn 'on', I can't get into recovery and it won't truly turn on.
I'm rooted and unlocked, running a version of PA, though I haven't updated it in some months and haven't downloaded anything other than a picture or two to my phone recently, so I don't think I've bricked it or anything.
I've never used ADB or fastboot or anything like that, so if there's a solution through that I'd be happy to try it out. If there's anything I forgot to mention, please tell me!
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
This has happened to some people. It seems like going completely dead can somehow corrupt something in the firmware in rare cases.
Open Device Manager and plug in your phone, then see what pops up. If you see QHUSB_DLOAD, your phone has bricked, but it may be fixable. Check into the Unbricking Evita thread and see if the guys there can help.
Failing that, get a warranty exchange.
Try different button combinations (hold power, or hboot combination) while the phone is plugged into the wall charger. At least one person I was trying to help, got his phone to power on this way, when nothing else seemed to work.
Sounds like you're phone is in qdl mode. i second trying the unbricking thread.

[Q] OPO Battery dead, Computer won't recognize phone

Hey Guys,
my OPO is dead atm.
The battery drained to 0 and now I can't do anything with my phone.
I can't charge it, start it, start fastboot etc.
I've already contacted OnePlus and next week they want to make a remote session.
But my phone is dead for 2 weeks now and I don't want to wait till next week (and I dont think, that they can fix the problem).
Do you know if there is any chance to get the phone recognized by the computer?
I have already installed all drivers, adb, many OPO Toolkits and and and..
But when I plug in my phone to the computer, the phone does not get recognized (there is no "Badiim" like when I connect any other device).
And the device manager is empty too.
Before the battery drained, I could connect the phone to the computer anytime and it get recognized instantly

Have you tried connecting it for a while to another low power USB source? I've had a couple of devices die, but the battery just needs slowly replenished to help bring it back to life. I've connected it to a USB port on my TV and just left it for an hour, it seems to trickle enough power to start charging.

Nexus 5 Repair gone wrong... !

Hey Guys,
Wondering if anyone on here has any ideas....
Basically, I replaced the screen on my girlfriends Nexus 5. Went through one of the many tutorials on youtube and to my relief it turned on and everything worked fine.
This relief was short lived. In about 30 minutes, the phone turned itself off and then wouldn't go back on. This morning, I took it apart again and checked all the connections and it all seemed to be ok.
Now stuck!
Any help, much appreciated!
The phone doesn't power up at all? If your computer is running windows, connect the phone to the computer and look for any new devices in device manager. If you see something for qhusb bulk, the phone may be bricked.

Does anything happen when you connect the phone to a charger?

Nothing at all.
I'd have been less confused if it hadn't worked initially.
Try different USB cables and USB ports when connecting the phone to a computer.
The battery could have completely drained for some reason.
Connect the phone to a 2 amp charger and leaving it charging for 2 to 3 hours, then try to power it up.
If you have access to another battery, try swapping out the battery.
I'll give those ideas a go.
Thanks for the help man, so appreciated!
So, had no luck so purchased a new battery. Put that in this morning, and it's still not working. However, it IS showing when I plug it into a PC which it wasn't doing before.
When I first plugged it into the charger the notification light at the bottom flashed about 5 minutes later.
Was the LED notification RED? Was the screen replacement OEM or non-OEM? Sometimes they replacement screens are questionable.
When repairing a Nexus 5 cracked screen, I have bought a used damaged (Screen good condition) Nexus 5 from ebay (Bad ESN, Water Damage) and just put my Motherboard and battery in it.
With a the new battery in the phone, leave it to charge overnight and see what happens in the morning.

It's dead.
RIP Nexus 5 2013-2016
I recommend connecting the phone to a windows computer and look in device manage to see if any new devices appear. If you see something like USB BULK, it's bricked but may be fixable.

I am having the same problem. I noticed that something appeared named QHSUSB_BULK. But how to fix it. Please help. I will be very thankful.
My mistake, if the qhsusb bulk is a hard brick that may be fixable but you can look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/unbrick-lg-model-download-recovery-t3060184
Other types of brick are fixable: https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...-unbrick-nexus-5-stucked-qualcomm-hs-t3043301
If it happened without you playing around with the bootloader then it is most likely the EMMC that is faulty(fried/dead)
