Hey guys,
So I rooted my U20i, then went to unlock the bootloader. Somewhere in the process of unlocking the bootloader, something went wrong, and now the phone is completely unresponsive. Like, nothing works. If I plug in the USB cable, the computer does not recognize it. If I try to power it on, nothing happens. It's essentially 100% dead.
So, what can I do? I tried using SEUS and the companion software, but it won't recognize the phone. As far as my computer knows the phone isn't plugged in. Can I purchase the DavinciTeam reflash? I'm really at a loss for what to do since I've never had a handset just completely stop functioning in every way before.
Thanks.
Every other time I've heard of someone bricking their phone, it has always still been recognized by their PC when plugged in, but this phone does not even get recognized. I'm really at a loss for what to do.

ok, i've been dabbling around with different roms, and have basically gotten the general concept of how to flash custom roms, using odin 1-click and what not.
well thats exactly what im trying to do now. i was in the middle of flashing my phone to a stock rom when all the sudden it said removed. i did nothing for this this to happen.
well, anyways, i was like oh well i'll just put in this here jig and restart the entire process over again. so, i put the jig in the phone, which takes me directly to dl mode. i removed the jig and placed me usb port into the phone, which is where the issues started. for some reason, my computer now wont recognize my phone, therefore making it to where odin wont recognize my phone. so like any other 20 year old male i say wtf and destroy my phone furiously.
not really, i actually removed the usb port and the battery, then reinserted the battery, and tried pushing the power button. after doing so, nothing. like literally nothing, yet when i put my jig in it takes me directly to download mode???
so pretty much im just confused as to whether or not my phone can be fixed via recognition from my computer, or should i say fml my phones hard bricked, and now i gotta do the insane bootloader thing or just complain to customer service about my phone?

if your phone can get into download mode its recoverable...any sign of life is not a brick... your problem now is your computer not recognizing it.
uninstall drivers, reboot, reinstall, reboot, switch usb ports making sure its one in the back connected to the motherboard, use oem cable that came with the phone...
so, the magic way to make it work again is simply to do nothing but what your already doing. lol.
i pretty much just got really agitated and started plugging the phone in and out of the computer, waiting on the unrecognizable thing to pop up, and BAM odin works outta nowhere and my phone is recognized. damned computers. lol
Hi
I recently bought a Desire S from a friend. I went about rooting it but when I plugged it into my PC it is not recognised at all, literally nothing pops up on the phone or the PC.
I've checked the settings in the phone and USB debugging is enabled and I always changed default connection type.
I have even booted into Hboot and plugged the USB in, but still nothing.
The phone charges perfectly fine and I've tried plenty of different cables. My other Android phone works perfectly when plugged it.
I'm starting to think its a hardware issue, anyone else heard of this? common problem? any fixes?
Thanks
Re install htc sync and drivers, then remove sync and try again

I have the same problem, sort of. When I plug mine in all is well at first, but give the phone one tiny nudge (or just wait a few minutes) and it goes back to charge-only mode. It's probably a slightly loose connection somewhere in the USB port on your phone.
To be sure, try if it works in Linux. The Linux USB stack sucks infinitely less than what Windows uses.
Thanks for the replies. I tried Ubuntu but exactly the same (it worked with my Nexus 4)
Thats a little annoying, thankfully charging still works, just unsure how long that will last for! plus I cant root it! but I dont exactly need it rooted but I tend to do it anyway.
I've sorted it now. It was a loose ribbon cable, plugged that back in after taking the phone apart and its working.
Bootloader unlocked and custom recovery flashed. Ready to rock.
I used Odin to unlock the bootloaders on my S3. Odin said it completed successfully and the phone shut off but never came back on. I've tried pulling the battery for a few hours but that didn't do anything. I can't get into download or recovery mode. The phone doesn't do anything; no lights or sounds. The only time anything happens is if I plug it into my computer with the battery out; the red LED will go on for a few minutes but nothing else happens. My computer (Macbook with partitions for Lion & Windows 7, have tried with both operating systems) recognizes a device is plugged in but nothing actually happens. What do?
UPDATE: sent it off to have it JTAG'd and it's not bricked. JTAG guy says the eMMC is probably corrupted. So much for giving Android another shot.
Sorry if this is something that has been covered before. I searched, and searched and didn't find my exact problem. Any guidance you may have, including links to the appropriate threads is greatly appreciated.
My Q shutdown today while it was sitting in my pocket during a meeting. It was way too soon for my battery to be dead, but I tried charging it, both by USB on a computer and on a stock charger just in case. The backlight on the screen comes on for a few seconds every minute or so, regardless of whether its on hte charger or not. The screen is black otherwise. The battery is HOT, even after being off the charger for a long time. I tried soft-reset and booting into recovery with no luck. Plugging into USB on a computer that has Moto Device manager installed results in the computer alternating between recognizing and not recognizing the device every few seconds (seemingly in concert with the backlight turning on and off) but it does not recognize it long enough to load directories, etc. RSD lite will not recognize the device.
I wasn't doing anything with the phone at the time. It is rooted but not unlocked.
Any ideas? Will I run into a warranty issue since it was rooted even though it's not unlocked?

Have you tried to force reboot (Vol down + Power button for about 7-10 secs)?
Yes. Thanks for the reply. That's what I meant by soft reset. What the issue, I figured out, was that my battery had decided to self-destruct. It didn't have enough charge to even boot the phone successfully, so it was not possible to put it into recovery mode or anything else. I took it to Sprint and they replaced it under warranty.

So I'm sort of a noob to rooting......always had phones that you could just use towelroot on and it worked fine. But I recently got a Verizon lg g4 and tried to use the low effort root method, did everything exactly as it said but somehow or another I messed it up and now I have a paperweight. The phone will not turn on, charge, or show any sort of life whatsoever, so I cannot get it into download mode. (otherwise I wouldnt need help lol)
The only thing it will do is when you plug it into a pc the computer will recognize it as a "unrecognized usb device", and if you hold the power button on the phone for a long enough time the computer will say it was disconnected and then reconnected. (phone still does nothing) If you guys can help at all or give me any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: I have the stock firmware/software for the phone downloaded on my computer so what I really need is just a way to get it onto the phone
And Im not opposed to tearing the phone apart if need be
Anybody
Did I post this in the wrong section?
