Nexus One 1600 mAh Battery from Seidio

It sounds like the 1600 mAh battery from Seidio will fit in the stock battery place with no need for a different cover.
Is there any reason not to get this battery, other than spending $55?

For a really rough estimate, if your average battery life is 12 hours, then an increase by 200 mAh (~14%) will give you and extra ~ 1.7 hours. Emphasis on really rough.

Probably not worth it unless (1) you are away from a charger for long periods of time, or (2) your original battery goes bad.

what about the one that adds only 5mm of extra thickness? that doesnt seem to bad

5mm may not sound like much, but the phone is only 11mm thick now. so, it'd add almost 50% to the phone's thickness. that's significant.

I would not mind getting any battery with improved life, battery life is pretty important to me. I am just wanting to see how much extra will I realistically be getting - before I make the purchase. Other than the 200 extra mAh, build quality can influence how much more (or less) the battery life ends up being. If it add's 25%+, I may just buy it.

Same here, the more battery the better! As long as the size is the same which is a plus!!

sounds like it's more of an additional battery than a better replacement, considering how little additional juice it'll potentially give.
I'd be interested how it compares to the price of an original battery, then just buy the cheaper one to have an extra batt

It's a charger, works with any gadget that uses USB, it's TINY (smaller than the phone itself by a good bit, easily pocketable) and it can roughly double battery life. Slightly less convenient than a spare Nexus One battery, but easier to charge, store and use, as well as being able to use it with ANY usb device.

does anybody know if the battery guage will be able to recalculate for the bigger battery? i had that problem on the tilt/htc tytn II and that was really annoying because you have a bigger battery but no idea what the actual charge is

The Seidio is too expensive.

I picked up a 5000mah external pack recently, which is about 3 times greater than the typical external battery. Works great. Charges the phone up 3 or 4 times over with no problem.

I've just ordered a wind up charger.
5 mins winding gives about 30 mins on the phone, it'll be good for geocaching, as we often run out on the difficult ones!

Just looked at the site and they're going to have a "Super Extended" battery coming out soon, though this one will be larger thus bringing it's own back cover. I think I'll wait for them to release that before choosing.

3000 vs 3500 MAH, which one?

Wondering which battery to get of them two, I've read some users saying that the 3500M battery is actually smaller than the 3000M which would indicitate it has less capacity? They've also said that it doesn't live up to the rated capacity in terms of usage time. I'm leaning toward the 3000M battery as it seems to have a better reputation. I also don't really want to spend more than ~$15 on the new battery.
Also, which one has a better feel to it with the cover?

none of those batteries really offer the advertized capacities, probably the 3500 will give you a few hours more than the 3000 but expect them to be like 75% or less of their real rated capacity.

Some people have said in other threads that the 3500m one is actually smaller than the 3000, which should mean that the actual capacity is lower?

My battery is like on yor first link for ebay.
I can tell you:
With original SGS battery i have 1 day to 1,5 day battery life (im relativ middle to stronger user,GPRS,GPS,3G,etc. But with this 3000 mAh battery i have last about 4-5 days. SGS is doble dicker from original,but i have no care if i go on shorter travel without charger

I purchased both from e-cell in UK. They look pretty much identical, the 3500 one has label only on one side and it's a little thinner. But they are higher capacity than the stock one, about twice the capacity.
Doing my usual test while communting on metro and train, reading news with screen at minimum brightness, with the standard battery I usually lose 20% in 1 hour, with the big battery I lose 10%.
The back cover is a little too big and there's a space between the battery and the cover, so it moves, I had to fill the gap with a piece of paper.

It seems Yoobao is a "quality label"?!?
A comparison of budget 3500mAh and budget 3000mAh and Yoobao 3000mAh would very interesting.
Specifically, the running time for the same use (eg video loop).
The Yoobao battery costs three times more as the cheapest noname battery.
€7, the chepeast 3500mAh battery and €21 for the 3000mAh Yoobao.

I think most replies in other threads to extended batteries show that you get what you pay for. The cheaper ones tend to give just the same (or worse) battery life than the standard OEM battery.
The better, larger extended batteries are more expensive and increase the size of the handset too, but if you can put up with this they will extend the battery life but it won't be anything "jaw-dropping".
On specific batteries I can only really advise to keep away from the batteries sold on ebay from China/HK as these tend to be a lot more inferior in quality and performance and can be prone to going up in flames (literally).
EDIT: I forgot to mention that out of the two battery brands you mention innocell seems to get better ratings and reviews but they still aren't brilliant. Best to shop around online and compare user ratings. Checkout Amazon and Mobile fun for ratings for example, because ebay only gives seller ratings and not product ratings.

If you want to buy extended battery, you will need to notice on its charging cycle. Having larger battery (mAh) is not worth if their charging cycle is short.
Even though you got high mAh battery, they may be rapidly reducing its maximum battery level to 80% after you charge them for several cycle.

well i bought Andida battery advertised and alabelled as 1800 mAh - it does not work as advertised. After few cycles i feel it is now smaller capacity than genuine one, it does not charge up to 100% it stops charging somehow @99%. As a backup battery well maybe, as a replacement defenately no!

I've read that somewhere, that the HTC batteries aren't the biggest batteries around, but they somehow manage to get up to 95% of the capacity to be used. That is what none of those cheaper batteries can achieve, so it is senseless to buy a bigger battery that only uses some 70% and in the end the smaller, but more efficient HTC battery is your better choice

YooBao extended ones is actually pretty good, known for their blackberry batteries (of which used by a lot of people here)

Anyone found a descent (great) extended battery that still goes with our phone ? They got a few for the note 3 that I wish were also made for our phone!
I have seen a few on ebay but I find them hard trusting.

How is an extended battery going to fit under the original battery cover? Greater capacity means greater size.

Anything beyond stock is extended. Companies made them plenty for the note 3. I don't care for 10k or 5k for that matter. But I found one...mod can close / delete

Any of those batteries claiming to be high capacity yet OEM sized are probably dangerous (Google cheap lithium batteries) and nowhere near the capacity they claim. If you want to risk your expensive new phone by sticking in some cheap nasty battery that could explode go for it.....

Yes, what Joey2o11 said is correct. A battery that's the same size as the factory battery will have the same, or less, mah as the factory battery. Any company claiming their factory-sized battery has more mah is simply lying so they'll sell more batteries. You can read where many different unaffiliated companies test batteries from manufacturers and 3rd parties, and you'll see the results are always the same. Bottom line - if you want more mah, you'll need a bigger battery.
Also, you made a thread asking the community to share info about batteries. So when you found one to purchase you should have shared your findings with the community, not asked a moderator to close the thread. XDA is all about sharing information with the community, not keeping it to yourself...

Not 100% true as I remember the higher capacity battery for my old Sony Xperia phone lasted longer than the oem battery even though it was stock size.

So no actual solid evidence then other than you seem to remember it lasted longer... If it was possible to make batteries with a higher capacity for the same size do you not think the likes of Sony, Samsung etc would have done it themselves in the first place?

I had the Sony Xperia Play mobile phone, the extended battery was quoted to be only 200mAh higher but made a difference. 6 months on the standard battery versus 6 months on the extended battery I could tell the difference. It was also talked about here on xda when it was the 'in' phone.
I do know that most batteries quoted are not genuinely that much higher or better than stock with the same dimensions but I can say that the statement was incorrect in my opinion from my experience for that one occasion.

That phone was never the "in" phone and anyone who thinks any cheap chinese third party battery is gonna compare to a stock oem battery is delusional. They are expensive for a reason, even after you trim off the excessive markup.

That sums things up nicely

If there was a way for extra mAh to be crammed into the same space, Samsung would've done it themselves. And even if there was a way and some other company made such batteries, the production costs would be through the roof, so the retail price would reflect that.
The best you can expect from a cheap battery is to be on par with the OEM (although unlikely), but it's simply unrealistic to expect it to be better.

Any suggestions from personal experience on which is the best battery replacement

I just replaced my original battery with a Max Baer high capacity battery at 3600mAh and it's just as bad as my old original battery. It's draining just as fast. I need to purchase another battery so anyone with experience with purchasing any batteries. If you can give me some advice on which one you bought and how well it did would be great cuz I would hate to buy another one after I buy this one, so any advice would be grateful. And theven MaxBeat high capacity battery was even rated higher than at 3600mAh and the original battery was 3200mAh or close to that number. so I would have thought that this max Baer battery would have done pretty good but it's as a right now not holding up to my standards I have to charge it like twice a day. Once again any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it thank you

Never heard of MaxBaer/MaxBeat or whatever it is - is it the same physical size as the original battery? If so, there is no way it can be 3600mAh. I'm a ZeroLemon fan. Granted it makes the phone larger and people always comment on how large my phone is, though I have used phones as large as Red Bricks for work (Intermec) so it's small by comparison. I don't use the belt clip with it since I have cargo pockets.

Based on my personal experience, Stalion® Strength Note 4 Replacement Battery gives a great performance compared to the original for a normal (not extended battery) and sells at a very good price too. Also 4500mah Golden Battery though its performance is the same as a 3220mah Stalion but comes at a cheaper price.

I have tried Maxbear and powerbear, neither of which are any good in my experience. I also have two from anker and those were good but they're old now. I just this week bought an extended shenMZ 7500 mAh battery but that is not even lasting an entire day so I think it may have been sitting for a while. I think part of the problem may be that some of these batteries have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time unused. Somebody in this thread said that the RavPower batteries are still good. I also hear from another thread that the TQTHL extended 11800mah batteries are good as well. Has anybody bought a battery in the past few months that doesn't suck?
