Just this afternoon I discovered that my Z3 has spots in its pictures. What do you guys make of this? I think it is dust or some other sort of particles. Not sure what I should do..

Had 1 big spot on my pictures too ,it showed up one week after i bought the device at the top of the screen. Then it moved to the middle and now it's gone.
I think that it's dust.
Had the same problem.
I tried everything including blasting the phone from every possible hole with compressed air. Nothing worked so I contacted the local authorized repair center. After a week. the called me and told me that the phone is fixed. When I asked them what was the issue, they told me that the camera module was replaced. I'm taking this information with a grain of salt, because I have had a similar problem with my CybersShot - the problem was a spec of dust on the sensor.
I was a little spectral about the waterproofing so when I got the phone i tried the pressure test and it was OK. Since then I have tried it in a pool and it's OK.
Here you can see my photos with the spot - http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/dark-spot-photos-t2986834
Let me know if you have any questions and hope you get it fixed soon.
Same problem here!

Looks near identical. I'll bring it to the store soon to get it fixed, but that has to wait a couple of weeks.
Cannot imagine that they will refuse to fix it under warranty, the thing is supposed to be dustproof after all. Hopefully they can fix my rattle as well at the same time..
The strange thing for me was that the camera module is covered by an additional foam, meaning that dust particles should not enter the camera lens and it's surroundings . That's the reason why I was not able to blast the dust with air.
You can see what I'm talking about on the right pic -
Well, mine has been open for repairs. Maybe that's part of the cause..

Just saw the exact same spots on my phone, which led me here.
Hmm hope the store does something good. Mine has also been through a replace because of a broken front screen.

Perhaps you have a different sensor, or motherboard, now. But that's definiately dust on the sensor.
Well sort of good news, mine got repaired. It took 6 weeks and two attempts. Allthough the first camera module swap was succesfull, I received my phone damaged and making a rattle sound.
I'm hoping this time the rattle won't return, because they did a beautiful job fixing the phone. The tolerances are better than when I got it new..
One thing to look out for is the Camera Lens manages to get marks on the camera just from being in my pocket.
My lens still looks sharp. No furthers issues to report after my repairs.

Is the actual lens of your front-facing camera completely centered in the black circle? Mine is off to the side.
mine also was gonna ask the same thing mine is to the right
mine as well
Mine is off to the right of the middle. I also noticed I have to hold the phone at an angle to center my face on the screen. Anyone else notice that as well?
Mines off the the right as well. I did notice this on the demo phones at T-Mobile. I think it's just a production thing? Don't let it get to you.
Yay mine is centered perfectly, I win. Woot woot!!!
Seriously though, my camera is centered.
Mine's off-centered in the circle. Additionally I have to hold my phone tilted down and to the left to center my face. Thinking about getting it exchanged.
Just in case there weren't already enough confirmations of this, mine is off the to the side as well.
mine is off a bit too. I have to hold the phone at a bit of an angle in order for my face to be centered. Visually, the camera is shifted a CH to the right. Not a big deal for me.
I did call T-Mobile for a different issue. The CS rep asked how my phone was and I mentioned the camera issue. He says there wasn't anything in the system about build issues with the camera angle but he did make a note of it.
Centered on mine, good batch in my case
Mine is centered and my ugly mug displays right in the middle of this awesome phone.
Mine is off also but at least i got the high quality display lol...

Mine is off but I would gladly like to have the better display instead anyday.
so if you have a centered camera you have the bad display but if you have off centered camera its the good display? has anyone tested this theory yet? i would much rather have the better display if thats the case.

No, I have off centered camera and bad display.
Mine seems fine to me. Maybe off by a hair but it works perfectly and that is all I care about.

So would be problem if I change my lens with this ;

I'm not gonna lie, it looks way Harder than I thought. But still not looks impossible, so my main question is do you think the lens I've send the link will be fine ? Or would be problems about touching sensivity ?

I would avoid doing so. I've yet to hear from a single person who had succesfully done so and didn't have some type of issue afterwards. Either the screen sticks out a bit and moves due to double sided tape used, or the LCD or some other component breaks when using the special resin/glue needed to make it fit correctly, back light bleeding through spots, etc. etc.
It's basically a nightmare and the only practical way to replace the glass is to replace the whole LCD assembly. Not something I would do for scratches.
Just get a screen protector (maybe glass) and call it a day.

Well, As I said before, this looks way harder than I thought.
So thanks for detailed information my friend.
I'm not gonna risk whole my screen for 2 tiny scratches.
Thanks again

Hi guys,
I recently broke my screen so I got a replacement like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-LCD-Sc...165549?hash=item2ca5611aed:g:UPoAAOSwwE5WYkjD
I made an explanation video of the problem on youtube here https://www.youtube.com/embed/9b11bPAFkho
After replacing, I have this glitch appear every time something higher resolution needs to be processed with display. E.g. when using camera, looking at photos, scrolling news feed on facebook.

I would like to know, if you think that the problem is in the module that I received from ebay, or if I broke something else with the fall INSIDE the phone, that will not be fixed with getting another replacement of the same thing. Cause the seller is willing to send me another piece. However, I am not sure, if the piece will fix it - first because it might not be the problem in the item and second, he might send me another faulty one, so I would buy elsewhere then.
Have you seen such an issue? Do you know which part might be causing it?
Thank you!
I have the same exact problem/situation except mine was fine for the first week

Did it also occur after replacing the screen? Did the previous broken screen have the same problem before you replaced it? If not, than it must be the module. Did you too buy it from ebay? Who was the seller?
I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. Display worked properly but touch wasn't working so I ordered screen/chassis from eBay seller "gadgetfix". I installed it myself and it worked fine for about a week. Although I did notice a very miniscule flicker here and there, it was acceptable. But 2 days ago it started going crazy. I purchased another screen that will be coming in the mail.
Update: took the phone partially apart. With the phone on and the battery separated but still connected, I used a paperclip to pull up on the display ribbon cable(far right) where it bends down into the chassis, connecting to the display. By straightening it out, my display is now operating properly. Must have bent and pinched it while trying to get the back cover to snap on?

Okay, from what you said that means that the problem is in one of the flex cables. Do you mean the one that is very close to the 3.5mm audio jack or the one closer to the volume buttons? Because if it is the one at the volume buttons, maybe I could replace the flex cable from the former display to the other one. But for that I would have to peel off the screen from the back, right? I am afraid I would not be able to replace the screen due to the fact that you have to use the paste as far as I understand and I tried that once with another phone and I f*ed up. Hopefully some phone center here could do it. So if I buy one here http://vifocal.com/lcd-display-with...-oneplus-one-a0001-64gb-16gb-replacement.html that will probably be less likely faulty due to the fact that its not just some ebay person, but an actual shop, right?

]Hello - I dropped phone in the sink and pulled it out IMMEDIATELY.:crying:Literally two seconds. The phone was still on, was dried and left in rice for 4 days. Took out sim and memory card. only the bottom half of the phone was in contact with water.
Now the phone will charge, but the screen is not responsive, and going ballistic notifications flashing, bluetooth turning on and off, alarms suddenly being set, LED switching on and off, browser pages appearing - all this whilst the phone is not being touched.
I have looked very very closely at what I think are the water damage indicators, right on the led, and they are yellow on top and orange on the bottom. No sign of pink at all. Also have compared them to my husbands A9 and they are identical. Is there any hope :crying::crying:
Anyone ???
yes, that is the water damage indicators, it is really red, which is a sign of water damage. If you can charge it and do other things like, let's say, connect it to a computer, then it may just be a screen problem, but don't take my word for it, it is possible that there is something else wrong. You can certainly try it but I'm not sure if the screen is the only problem without the device in my hands to assess the damage. I would say there is a little hope for it but your best bet is to either buy a new one or get a replacement under warranty
Also, if your screen experiences "jitters" where it randomly maps finger touches that is definitely a digitizer problem, which is screen related, I'm not sure if this is the problem u face or not, I'm going off of your description of the damage. Leave the screen on and watch it for a few, if it does this then that is certainly a sign of a damaged screen
Unfortunately based on your description you have very little chance of fixing it without replacing at least one part of the phone, it may just be one or it may be multiple
Sorry if this offers little help, but good luck anyways
shaking camera
i dropped my phone into a basin and my phone was completely submerged and all air bubbles came out of the phone but it was working perfectly fine. but now my camera started to twitch and can focus and i keep hearing the sound that the camera still has water in it but am not sure .

Look Where the flashlight is, there is 2 circles, on on top of the other. The top one is yellow, and the bottom on should be a light red/pink. If the bottom one is orange/dark red the phone has water damage. If this is the case you should take it to a professional and see what needs to be replaced, as I'm not sure exactly what should be fixed. Hope this helps and good luck
OK, phone went off to repair last week. was not holding out much hope as I thought they would be able to tell that it had been dropped in water and therefore not repairable under warranty.
LCD replaced, and that is it. I am delighted !! Working perfectly.

That is very good, thankfully it was only a screen replacement. Good luck and don't drop it into anymore water lol
Hello,
My mix 2s seems to have developed something that I would describe as unglued glass on camera?
Basically, it looks like the glass that covers camera had come off, or something has happened to it.
It's worth noting that my phone is indeed always in case, never fallen or been water damaged.
Does anyone know what this could be and if it can be fixed? It appears that it does come off at the edges, which is not a major problem, however there's also some unclarity at the lens area and I am concerned it might affect the photo quality.
Here's the photo of the detail - sorry, I could only do it with a coworker's phone and the light is not ideal, but I think it's visible enough.
EDIT: It appears to be a common fault :/ http://en.miui.com/thread-4326158-1-1.html

Indeed - it appears to just come off eventually for some models. See the thread I linked.
Anyone else experiencing this? I've purchased the phone in July 2018.

I am experiencing this.... ~two weeks after I purchased the phone back in June or July as well. Like yours mine wasn't physically damaged or forced in any way, always wore the plastic case that was in the box(until it broke at the edges LOL)
Contact the seller you got the phone from and attempt a warranty repair if no:
some users recommend changing the glass, I DON'T. Lens flare and other artifacts appearing is 80% sure. Take this action only when photo quality comes down drastically.

Yes, I will try to go through with warranty, although my phone is unlocked, and rooted. But this is not really a software issue, rather a completely hardware issue. I wonder if that will be a problem.
