Front-facing camera - myTouch 4G General

Is the actual lens of your front-facing camera completely centered in the black circle? Mine is off to the side.

mine also was gonna ask the same thing mine is to the right

mine as well

Mine is off to the right of the middle. I also noticed I have to hold the phone at an angle to center my face on the screen. Anyone else notice that as well?

Mines off the the right as well. I did notice this on the demo phones at T-Mobile. I think it's just a production thing? Don't let it get to you.

Yay mine is centered perfectly, I win. Woot woot!!!
Seriously though, my camera is centered.

Mine's off-centered in the circle. Additionally I have to hold my phone tilted down and to the left to center my face. Thinking about getting it exchanged.

Just in case there weren't already enough confirmations of this, mine is off the to the side as well.

mine is off a bit too. I have to hold the phone at a bit of an angle in order for my face to be centered. Visually, the camera is shifted a CH to the right. Not a big deal for me.
I did call T-Mobile for a different issue. The CS rep asked how my phone was and I mentioned the camera issue. He says there wasn't anything in the system about build issues with the camera angle but he did make a note of it.

Centered on mine, good batch in my case

Mine is centered and my ugly mug displays right in the middle of this awesome phone.

Mine is off also but at least i got the high quality display lol...

Mine is off but I would gladly like to have the better display instead anyday.

so if you have a centered camera you have the bad display but if you have off centered camera its the good display? has anyone tested this theory yet? i would much rather have the better display if thats the case.

No, I have off centered camera and bad display.

Mine seems fine to me. Maybe off by a hair but it works perfectly and that is all I care about.

[Q] Another type of screen defect? (Not light bleed)

I have quite a bit of light bleed on my transformer but what bugs me the most is a spot that is noticeably brighter in the middle of the screen. It's noticeable under normal lighting situation when the screen is showing dark colors.
Anyone else has this problem? Or am I just the only unlucky one?
[Q][Survey] Is your Transformer still working?

Luckily I don't have this problem ( I do have light bleed) but I was reading thru the warranty and Asus explicitly say that you may get 'white dots' and 'black dots' on your screen. Basically they mean dead pixels.
Read thru the warranty, see if your spot fits the description.

I have the same issue. No light bleed but an annoying 1/2 inch blob 2 inches away from the left-hand side & dead centre in the screen. It is only really visible on on dark screens and appears milky white. I am thinking about returning it to eBuyer but they do not have any stock in at the moment.
Regards
StalkS
I have 3 lighter spots, btw they are deffinately not dead pixels.
Only realy show up on dark backgrounds and when brightness is really high such as when playing Galaxy on Fire 2.
I would describe as some kind of mark on the underside of the glass between the touchscreen and the IPS screen if that makes sense
I don't think its that bad that I would go through the hassle of an RMA tho.
Sooo.......
Im having what I think is the same problem with the spots in the middle of the screen. Has anyone tried sending it back? I want to know what to expect whether there is any information I should hold back etc. . .
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
(also I got mine from bestbuy and I think its already been 2weeks which is past their normal return period. I also have put a custom rom (revolver) on mine and I haven't really looked into reverting it back to stock. Does anyone have experience with the stock process?)
Thanks again and sorry for the long post. Cheers

Advantage of Having Broken Camera Glass

I have a crack running along the camera glass, nothing major, but as you can tell it produces crazy lense flares. The normal photograph is with my back cover off.
Pro or Con? You decide.

Cracked:
Honestly, flares are pretty cool sometimes but its going to be alot more noticeable in situations with lots of lights. Then it would be annoying.
I do have one thing to say though, you need to be more steady with your pictures. Both are SUPER blurry. My G2x takes perfectly crisp pics if you hold steady (as with any camera)
Ummmm.... get a new cover..? Lol
The camera does have image stabilizer which I always have on...
"a phone to make you numb, a phone to make you dumb, a phone to make you anybody else...
All the roms in this world... wont save you from yourself"
Actually I haven't been noticing it alot when it's bright. And im using vignette i dont thing it has a stabilizer. Sorry the pictures are blurry i think it's cause it was dark. I try to hold it as steady as possible haha. And it's not worth a new back, doesn't affect the picture quality.
Actually if your phone is still under a year old LG will probably give you a new one. Just tell them the tab broke off whilebtrying to take it off or something. Worth a shot, can't hurt to try. I think another member here said lg gave them a one time replacement as a one time courtesy. Give it a shot! Gl!

Thanks, but i got mine off ebay they won't do that would they? And it's not really worth the trouble anyways.
My glass cracked there also. Ordered a replacement. Then ordered the 3500 mah battery that comes with a new cover. The cover doesn't have glass over the camera. It takes better pictures without the glass over the camera lens.
< Was cleaning my replacement stock battery cover yesterday and the damn glass falls off the cover. Wasn't glued on. Sh!t just fell off! Muckin LG! >

Spots in pictures

Just this afternoon I discovered that my Z3 has spots in its pictures. What do you guys make of this? I think it is dust or some other sort of particles. Not sure what I should do..

Had 1 big spot on my pictures too ,it showed up one week after i bought the device at the top of the screen. Then it moved to the middle and now it's gone.
I think that it's dust.
Had the same problem.
I tried everything including blasting the phone from every possible hole with compressed air. Nothing worked so I contacted the local authorized repair center. After a week. the called me and told me that the phone is fixed. When I asked them what was the issue, they told me that the camera module was replaced. I'm taking this information with a grain of salt, because I have had a similar problem with my CybersShot - the problem was a spec of dust on the sensor.
I was a little spectral about the waterproofing so when I got the phone i tried the pressure test and it was OK. Since then I have tried it in a pool and it's OK.
Here you can see my photos with the spot - http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/dark-spot-photos-t2986834
Let me know if you have any questions and hope you get it fixed soon.
Same problem here!

Looks near identical. I'll bring it to the store soon to get it fixed, but that has to wait a couple of weeks.
Cannot imagine that they will refuse to fix it under warranty, the thing is supposed to be dustproof after all. Hopefully they can fix my rattle as well at the same time..
The strange thing for me was that the camera module is covered by an additional foam, meaning that dust particles should not enter the camera lens and it's surroundings . That's the reason why I was not able to blast the dust with air.
You can see what I'm talking about on the right pic -
Well, mine has been open for repairs. Maybe that's part of the cause..
same here

Just saw the exact same spots on my phone, which led me here.
Hmm hope the store does something good. Mine has also been through a replace because of a broken front screen.

Perhaps you have a different sensor, or motherboard, now. But that's definiately dust on the sensor.
Well sort of good news, mine got repaired. It took 6 weeks and two attempts. Allthough the first camera module swap was succesfull, I received my phone damaged and making a rattle sound.
I'm hoping this time the rattle won't return, because they did a beautiful job fixing the phone. The tolerances are better than when I got it new..
One thing to look out for is the Camera Lens manages to get marks on the camera just from being in my pocket.
My lens still looks sharp. No furthers issues to report after my repairs.

Black specks on back of silk white

I received my OP6 silk white yesterday and there are a number of small black specks across the back that won't come off- it looks like a bit of dirt or something that's got trapped in the process of making the back or something. Has anyone else faced this issue? Trying to decide whether to get a replacement as even though they're small it drives me mad knowing they're there!

Everyone I've shown it to says I'm being ridiculous as they're probably less than a mm each. I suppose I don't exactly sit around staring at the back of my phone.

Be ridiculous. Its your phone. Own it. My first op6 had a small crack on the top near the notch and everyone said the same thing. But I still got it replaced.

It's basically the same as this. The black speck in that photo to the left of the camera is what I have on mine, but mine is to the right of the camera and another further down.

Splotches under? camera glass

Hello,
My mix 2s seems to have developed something that I would describe as unglued glass on camera?
Basically, it looks like the glass that covers camera had come off, or something has happened to it.
It's worth noting that my phone is indeed always in case, never fallen or been water damaged.
Does anyone know what this could be and if it can be fixed? It appears that it does come off at the edges, which is not a major problem, however there's also some unclarity at the lens area and I am concerned it might affect the photo quality.
Here's the photo of the detail - sorry, I could only do it with a coworker's phone and the light is not ideal, but I think it's visible enough.
EDIT: It appears to be a common fault :/ http://en.miui.com/thread-4326158-1-1.html

Indeed - it appears to just come off eventually for some models. See the thread I linked.
Anyone else experiencing this? I've purchased the phone in July 2018.

I am experiencing this.... ~two weeks after I purchased the phone back in June or July as well. Like yours mine wasn't physically damaged or forced in any way, always wore the plastic case that was in the box(until it broke at the edges LOL)
Contact the seller you got the phone from and attempt a warranty repair if no:
some users recommend changing the glass, I DON'T. Lens flare and other artifacts appearing is 80% sure. Take this action only when photo quality comes down drastically.

Yes, I will try to go through with warranty, although my phone is unlocked, and rooted. But this is not really a software issue, rather a completely hardware issue. I wonder if that will be a problem.
