I plugged out my nexus 5 back cover (only for fun ?)
But when I re-add it and power on my phone I've a big issue...
It's date & time ?
Date 21/feb/1971. And time is 3:00AM...
This happen to me on every reboot. Any fix?
Thanks in advance ?...
Edit: solved now
And when I set it manually/automatically and reboot it I've again old date...
I reflashed my rom for several times but with no luck ????
Solved ?
What steps did you take?
Probably using network times
Why did you do that

This bug is not hardware it's 5.1's custom roms issues ?
Get one of the atomic clocks that sync with the phone time off app store. Microseconds accurate)

I've got the same problem, standard rom 5.0.1 but rooted with xposed alpha.
phone gets the network time after 15 seconds so not a massive disaster apart from a few apps not liking the time, but it would be nice to have a solution if their is one, its a rooting & xposed issue isn't it?

Hey Everyone,
I am having some issues with my Nexus S (GSM). This does not happen on the stock rom but it seems to happen on any rom I flash and it becomes very annoying. The phone would be operating normally and out of nowhere it stutters and becomes extremely slow for about 5-10 seconds after it which it vibrates twice and back to normal again. I have also noticed that if the phone is idle it almost always goes through the slow process once I start it up.
If I increase the cpu to 1.2 ghz or higher the problem seems to appear more often.
I am hoping someone will help me fix it because the problem is extremely annoying when it happens during voice calls as it cuts out and the other person cannot hear me. If not I guess I will have to sell it.
Anyone have any solutions or has the same issues?
I think I had the same problem from time to time, but only when I was using a case on my phone.
I would unlock the screen and the device would be super slow for a few seconds, then I'd get a couple of quick vibrations and it would be back to normal.
My guess was that the case was pressing one of the buttons in (maybe volume?) while unlocking and it somehow caused the retardation.
I haven't seen that problem since removing the case -- though maybe it was a coincidence and I'm using a different rom that fixed it? Not sure.
In any event I'm using NSCollab 1.0.39 if you want to give it a try.
Are u doing fresh installs when u switch between roms

I already have tried and still no success. Usually when i restart the phone it fixes it temporarily but it comes back after some time.
I wipe the data, cache and dalvik cache every time I flash a new rom. So yes it is a fresh install...

Anyone else with any ideas on how to fix it?

Anyone else having this? The time on my phone is reading incorrect by about 10 mins. I am using the stock clock widget and under settings it is set to use network determined time or somethingike that.
Any ideas?

Try selecting your city and country, i it desnt work you should probably just do a factory reset.
or just set the time manually...why HR just for that ffs?
I'm using ClockSync from the Play Store.

I have got the same problem. Over the day the time gets an offset of around 3 seconds. After I had it on the charger over night (and ONLY if it was on the charger) the time of the phone is over 10 minutes behind the real time. I already disabled using the network time etc. but nothing helped. I don't think that this is a hardware failure.
I've got the same problem. Last night even my manually set time changed. Really strange.

same problem here - seems to be related to charging over night, going to test.
any apps that have recently been updated that have permission to change time?
have tried rolling back google movies, will see if that helps.
also i would be interested to know if everyone is o2 (i am) - might be a problem with one of the o2 bloatware apps?
what seems to have sorted mine (for the time being) is just restarting the phone, very odd but seems ok at the moment

Network time also gives me an instant offset of ~10 min
I will try the manual setting, and see how that goes.
Might give a try at ClockSync, mentioned above.
Same problem here. I can adjust the clock, but whether I use the network time or not, after a few hours to a few days it's lagging behind by about 10 minutes. It's quite annoying.

Thanks, I'll try that.
Automatic sync with that app needs root, I don't plan on rooting just yet - will probably make use of the warranty replacement because of the arc oxidation issue. Maybe the clock will work in the replacement.
no progress for me here, what an annoying bug.
reboot sets the time correct again but that's no fix!
following these steps it looks to me like a network time issue:
1. wake up with the clock 12mins slow
2. go into time settings and untick network time
3. set the correct time
4. retick network time and the clock jumps back to being wrong again
would really appreciate if anyone's got a clue on a fix
I've contacted HTC, they escalated it, I'll will forward their answer once I get it.

Solution, probably)
Hi all! Also had this bug, until checked all boxes in Date&Time settings. Try to make all automatic. For me it solved problem.

this is really strange - been staying at my girlfriends for a couple of weeks and not had this problem. so unless it a location problem (10mins walk), the only difference is ive been using a different charger overnight (htc vs kindle)
determined to figure this out
HTC told me that the update should help. For my part, it works now, although already before the update.

Hi everyone, my desire s is acting strange since few days back.. it keeps on restarting for no reason. At first I thought its due to kernel updates to modified kernel 3. But then I installed reaper gingerbread. It restarted when I opened camera.
Then I installed Nik's project x . Still same problem sometimes when I open camera or other heavy application.
It restarts continuously 5-6 times without completely booting and battery drains to 10-15% from 80-90% within 5 minutes..
I've not got this problem when in charging mode..
I'm now using ice_ds 4.3
If anyone have same problem before , is there a solution to this?
Thanks in advance..

I get this too on all custom ROMS.. sometimes if I knock the phone a certain way it resets.. so it must be hardware related.
Can you let me know what your 'SOLUTION' is? All I see if the cause. Thx

my solution: buy new battery
Put a bit of paper between the battery and the holder clip, that fixed it for me to keep the battery in place.
Hey guys,
I just picked up my Nexus 5 and I noticed especially on cameras my camera stops responding and I can't even click "OK" or "Cancel" it's just frozen and i have to reboot it. THis happened to me 10 times in the last hour now... any ideas?
did you do anything to the phone?
root anything.
everything is stock?
Mine does the same thing. It was doing this from day one and now it keeps doing it after I rooted..
Not sure what the issue is, but I probably have to restart my phone about once every three days.
Oh btw, I use face unlock so its really annoying when the camera stops working
I would suggest using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513937
or this toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517778
restore to stock completely, break the root and see what happens.
edit: this one as well I think it will be easiest and then try again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525026
need more information if you are loading a custom rom/ kernel etc. I know you probably are not but we cannot assume anything.
My Nexus 5 does this even after a full refresh mainly when not touching it. I updated to 4.4.1 and still no luck. Did you resolve yours?

My Nexus 5 is constantly rebooting itself every 5 seconds. There's no time to try any recovery option while it is turning on because it turns off immediately. Do you have any possible solution for this issue as well?
THANKS!
twice now when I press my power button my phone won't turn on. it seems to happen randomly, i pull it out of my pocket and I can't get it to turn on. I end up having to hold the button for like 30 seconds? and then it hard-restarts and everything is back to working fine.
I'm using Cataclysm with Franco.kernel
Qi still beeps when i set my phone on it.
think this is a rom/kernel issue or hardware?
cataclysm + franco gets such amazing battery life :victory:

I don't know about that!! B/C I'm using the same ROM from day 1 no problems like that. I suggest flash another kernel see what happens:good:
I also had this problem about 3 or 4 times. I was always using stock kitkat and it happened with both stock kernel and franco kernel.
i swapped it up completely and am running KANGAKAT with elementX. we'll see what happens! thanks for the answers everybody.
Had the same issue. Called goggle to get RMA. It just arrived today. The sad part is this one is going right back because everytime I try to install a widget, the launcher crashes (stock launcher and 3rd party). I barely have any apps installed at this point. Looking like a faulty device. My original works fine besides the random instance of the screen not coming back on. Thought I was the only one since I started a topic about this a few weeks ago and got no replies. I'm 100% stock and unrooted

This problem started with me after I installed the Franko Kernel.
Spent the whole night reverting to stock.
Not sure what I uninstalled, but my widgets are now working again. Still no idea what causes the screen to randomly not turn back on. Hoping this one doesn't have the same issue
