[Aplha][Java]CM-installer for Xperia L - Sony Xperia L

Hello Guys! Im Trying to make installing cm on Xperia L easyer for new Users....
this is my first Testbuild so i need some testers with locked bootloaders and maybe someone want to help me with some coding...
Requirements:
Only Java have to be installed! Everything else will be done in Programm!
Seems like Windows 8 dont work with fastboot correct...so use not Windows 8
Build: Alpha 1
Initialbuild : 01.03.2015
Last Updated: 02.03.2015
Changelog: some bugfixes
sources will be uploaded to external ....(why some guys tryed to open this to flash oO)
Only for Xperia L!

how this actually works ?is this process all automated even to unlocking the bootloader?

what is this ?
is this about the rom or an update that make look like windows 8

@SdtBarbarossa It would work on Windows 8 if signature checking is disabled and then the driver is installed.

Had the same problem on German 1099 but after a few tries (also with the new version) it worked. Although it always said that root wasn't achieved.

try titanium backup to fix this
Had no problem rooting mine after update. I am getting a message in titanium about non journal su access, it offers to fix this but fails. Any ideas on how to solve? Touch screen sensitivity is perfect now.

Are you sure you executed the batch file in the right folder (ICS_rooting)? Because adb.exe (and the required dlls) are included in the download.

Edit : ok, done. I used "execute with admin rights" and runit-win not works.
Executing "normally" works. Thanks

Why not use the German version as your location and sig suggest you are currently on German firmware?

Yes i'm germanischen.
This Version was preinstalled on my tablet when i got it.
When i update now, i would use the offered update when i check for updates on my tablet.
Is this the right way?

Well, I don't know whether Germanic is available as a language , but yeah that's the easiest and safest way to proceed.
My language on the tab is german.
So i have no problems and nearly all works fine.
But the touch sensity coult be better, so I hope that the update will bring better sensity than now.

it seems it the case
As I got my hands with a full listing of Acer firmwares, I think those datas could interest some members here.

Android L custom ROM availability for XL?

I just installed SlimKat on my phone and it's lovely! Feels like I can use my phone for another 12+ months haha
What are the chances of getting Android L based custom roms like SlimKat, Paranoid Android, OmniROM, etc. for the XL? It would work like butter on XL.
Android L (Lemon Meringue Pie, Lion, etc.) is not even out yet, and when it comes out all the developers will start working on 4.5 5.0 L ports. Some developers already slowed down their work with KitKat as they are wating for L.
don't expect that xperia L will get android L after a few days once it officially release
xperia L is legacy device so it will need months of work to get it because of the changes in the new android version

Why is it a legacy device when it's officially supported in CM, Omni, Slim, PA and many other ROMs? It may not be high-end, but I'm sure it will get L.
When? That depends on the developers and their experiences/knowledge and... The amount of spare time they have.

If it officially supported that's not mean it's not legacy
The new futures in android L need good hardware
Take the encryption as example
Will our phone be able to decrypt and encrypt data on each boot ? i hope that...
i didn't said it will not get L but it will need time to get patched and the only who will be able to do that is varun
Thanks

Nope, a phone with an MSM8930 S4 SoC can't be considered legacy at all (besides CM don't like legacy devices).
And I also doubt that only Varun is able to do that (no offense meant), we already discussed that weeks ago in a similar thread.

Just reading this review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8231/a-closer-look-at-android-runtime-art-in-android-l makes me drool.
What are the skills required to do what Varun did? I wish I could help in any way possible. (I don't think I'll be able to actually procure those skills in time though haha but hmm)
An update like L is exactly what XL needs. The difference between it and a high end device will reduce.
I love you @Olivier ! SlimKat is a blessing. Haven't tried any other ROM but that's because from what I have read, SlimRom is the lightest/most fluid of all. Waiting for updates and a possible fix for the wakelock thing.

You need Linux. Good buildguide is the cm one: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_bacon
It works a little different for any ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-build-crdroid-rom-source-t2884765 is another great guide.
And +1 to what om22 said, you need Linux. You can't build a ROM, Kernel from source using Windows or Mac.
I found this guide for make a rom with windows here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39456444&postcount=2&nocache=1&z=8561128901783377

This is not suggested. It is not for oneplus one as well as most roms nowadays do not use svn they use git. So it wouldn't work as you need cm device repo sync as well.

You can use virtualbox but it takes much longer to compile there. I recommend dual booting linux and doing it there.
BTW @zephiK thanks for posting my guide it's really nice to see my guide get's recommended by you

Oh shh! It's high quality work. I prefer vmware over virtual box but either or works. A ssd is also highly recommended for compiling, or get access to a server build bot.

New bootloader for open devices (now with real recovery)

Hi all,
I have a great news
http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...for-a-range-of-unlocked-xperia-devices-video/
Bootloader is compatible with open devices roms and also enables real recovery (Volume Down + Power)
to flash recovery partition on device you have to
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Happy Cooking
J
PS.
in case latest software does not appear just press "all Services"
flash latest software available and on top new loader
Just tested, and it works good.
Not having separated recovery is probably the thing that bothered me most in Sony development.
And can confirm PM on 3.10 is working now.
Thanks jerpelea!

Bootloader version you can see in EMMA after you plug in the phone, about certain versions, I don't know.
@galaxyfreak
I managed to flash New bootloader and then "recovery.img" on it!
So is that recovery stays there no matter what firmware/kernel i put on the phone?

Why "CM Recovery"?
CWM is all the time being the Best and popular recovery and have a backup option!
Maybe wrong thread to ask such questions?

It is a wrong thread but screw it.
Because I build CM ROMs and CM recovery is default there.
I do agree that they've dropped CWM way too early, but I think it's not compatible with 5.0 zip layout, so it's either this or TWRP (which is kind of an OmniROM thing).

Hello I like to ask you is the new recovery that you provided in your CM12.1 thread compatible with stock official kitkat roms?
I like to thank you for the work you put into to cm12.1 and previous versions.
and looking forward to the true recovery soon

@galaxyfreak
OK thanks for the reply. I have used the fastboot method to flash the recovery and found no change to that part of the system.
Just flashed new bootloader and yes: PM is working now with latest kernel/AOSP.
Thank you!!
Further testing will be done and posted in other M2 forums.

I'm DarkLord too everything works fine here . Can you make sure that your busybox is updated to latest . SU too successfully booted from recovery ?!
Anyone having trouble just follow the instructions in the op and on step 4 install the viper.apk manually by extracting the zip its in payloads, follow through with the rest of the steps and thats it.
