You need Linux. Good buildguide is the cm one: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_bacon
It works a little different for any ROM.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-build-crdroid-rom-source-t2884765 is another great guide.
And +1 to what om22 said, you need Linux. You can't build a ROM, Kernel from source using Windows or Mac.

I found this guide for make a rom with windows here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39456444&postcount=2&nocache=1&z=8561128901783377

This is not suggested. It is not for oneplus one as well as most roms nowadays do not use svn they use git. So it wouldn't work as you need cm device repo sync as well.

You can use virtualbox but it takes much longer to compile there. I recommend dual booting linux and doing it there.
BTW @zephiK thanks for posting my guide it's really nice to see my guide get's recommended by you

Oh shh! It's high quality work. I prefer vmware over virtual box but either or works. A ssd is also highly recommended for compiling, or get access to a server build bot.

Had no problem rooting mine after update. I am getting a message in titanium about non journal su access, it offers to fix this but fails. Any ideas on how to solve? Touch screen sensitivity is perfect now.

Are you sure you executed the batch file in the right folder (ICS_rooting)? Because adb.exe (and the required dlls) are included in the download.

Edit : ok, done. I used "execute with admin rights" and runit-win not works.
Executing "normally" works. Thanks

Yes i'm germanischen.
This Version was preinstalled on my tablet when i got it.
When i update now, i would use the offered update when i check for updates on my tablet.
Is this the right way?

Well, I don't know whether Germanic is available as a language , but yeah that's the easiest and safest way to proceed.
My language on the tab is german.
So i have no problems and nearly all works fine.
But the touch sensity coult be better, so I hope that the update will bring better sensity than now.

it seems it the case
As I got my hands with a full listing of Acer firmwares, I think those datas could interest some members here.

Looking for a couple of fixes

Hello all,
I recently compiled my own version of CM10.1 from source on my Ubuntu dev machine. I absolutely love it, and the fact that I am running my own ROM!! I only have a couple issues, and I've searched high and low, but can't seem to find any fixes (that work anyway). I would greatly appreciate it, if someone could point me in the right direction.
-Bugs-
1. Camera fc's when changing ANY setting, requiring a reboot.
2. GPS is ALL KINDS of jacked up..
3. Bluetooth doesn't work, or if I try to use speech to text I have to wipe/install in order to even be able to type a message.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. It will be GREATLY appreciated! I'm also sure that I could find my way to that infamous "Thanks" button. I could maybe buy you a beer, even.
Is it the unmodified cm source you are compiling? Did you extract the prebuilts?

I'm unsure of exactly what you mean by "unmodified."
Yeah, I extracted the prebuilts, and pulled the device specific code/drivers from the phone.
Vielen dank for the timely response!!

I am referring to your own version of cm. I am wondering if you changed some parts of code

This could be your problem. The prebuilts we use are specific blobs from the different builds and many probably are not longer valid when pulled directly from the phone
Instead of using prebuilds, use the "TheMuppets" repo (https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_samsung)
EDIT: Just realized I was looking in the wrong forum. These blobs should work with the developer edition but i'm not 100% sure.

Ahh.. Okay, sorry.
No, I didn't change anything at all. I just wanted to get a good, clean build first, then I will start customizing more and more. Thanks again. :good:

I really appreciate you looking into this for me. I read in a few forums about TheMuppets repo, but I haven't gotten around to trying it out. I am in the process of moving at the moment, but when I get my machine set back up I will give it a shot. Thanks.
Maybe really just try the muppets.
How did you get your device specific repos? Did you clone them manually, or did roomservice grep them for you?

Immediately after running "./get-prebuilts," I cd'd to the root of /android/system, and ran "source build/envsetup.sh" to first get all of my cmds working, then I ran the breakfast cmd.
After the device specific code downloaded, I then ran the "extract-files" script with my phone connected via usb to pull the proprietary blobs.
I REALLY hope to get my Ubuntu machine up soon... I will then try TheMuppets repo. Thanks again.

[DEV] Ubuntu Touch

I saw that Canonical added new branch phablet-4.4_r1 https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Touch/AOSPBuild
so I compiled it for FLO
Download
system http://d-h.st/sXM
kernel http://d-h.st/mSc
but we must flash also ubuntu files but I don't know which files
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/
any help would be appreciated
Also curious what other files are needed to work. Will wait to try
I think it is a step in the right direction but i think we would still need the hardware specific package (trusty-preinstalled-touch-armel+flo.zip) to make it work

... if you check the official guide on Ubuntu's website ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install#Manual_Download_.26_Installation ) they say you don't need that one... but I'm not sure.

That is not what I'm talking bout... I'm saying that I think we would need "saucy-preinstalled-touch-armel+flo.zip" as the say on the website " Get the hardware specific zip and img files for your device from the Ubuntu cdimage server here, i.e. for a Nexus7 this is saucy-preinstalled-touch-armel+grouper.zip".

you don't understand me too.
saucy-preinstalled-touch-armel+grouper.zip in this zip package we have system files for grouper
We don't have official support for flo so I compiled it (system.img) and you can download it from first post
Does anyone know if this is a daily driver or not.

If I am not mistaken, it should just be:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Personally, I would wait for someone else to try it, first.
Perhaps its a bit harder to brick devices, nowadays, but I wouldn't want to risk it, myself.

It should be buggy but my question is does it fully boot and have the main things working like - WiFi, BT, Camera, Sound etc..
Would this be flashable via TWRP MultiROM?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
its not a zip you cant flash it with recovery.
Can someone report what work and what not

I couldn't get it to boot with multirom. Installed without issue then pushed system.IMG and boot.IMG. every time I tried to boot off it everything would just revert back to the internal rom

Please read the important sentence:
Currently you can try either the phablet-4.2.2_r1 or phablet-4.4_r1 branches. The latter builds and boots but only the adb shell works, there still are bugs preventing Android and Ubuntu communicating (WIP as of Nov 21 2013)

@DevSwift1 Any progress? Not asking for ETA, I just want to know if I can look forward to this!

It seems that we must wait until ubuntu will fix problem with communicating between android and ubuntu
So has anyone installed this? does it boot atleast?

@SdtBarbarossa It would work on Windows 8 if signature checking is disabled and then the driver is installed.
