I cant seem to find the "selection button type" and "the enable or disable mediabutton action" i only change the words with the red underline that i found in my text editor and reboot . ) it seems to work though i cant find the dolby digital plus. ?
You could try this too! This works for lots of devices, including our beloved G3 (I'm using Resurrection Remix, works with that). It includes a ton of improvements for both high and low/mid tones!http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634729

testing dolby digital plus and dolbi atmos on lg g3 D855 custom rom cloudy g3 v2.5 - stock kernel + viper and no other tweaks. - both works perfect. just disable viper4android (to be sure u have no FC)and enjoy . I never experienced FC. personally, my vote goes to dolby digital plus. For my untrained ears, they both process the same the audio, but DDP offers me a better UI. In poweramp, no musicFX wont work for the momment, as they say on the official website. "– 580: MusicFX is disabled by default now for Sony @ Lollipop (as it’s broken there)" and is not working in youtube

Is there a way to flash an apk or zip file to get a system wide EQ on our phone like Beats? The sound output via the headphones is soooooo low. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
Viper4Android is by far the best IMO. It's a much easier install than AC!D as well. Beats(even Awesome Beats) was always garbage to me. Especially compared to AC!D/Viper4Android.

I've decided to give a try to the Beats Audio™ PRO that used before on my N7 which is now outdated on playstore...if you find it and it works for you it is night and day compared to the original output. There is no equalization but IMO there is no need to. You can still play with EQ with your music player (I use poweramp). I've tried several DSP managers (downloaded, integrated in custom roms, etc...) but nothing comes close this mode. The only inconvience - you need to be root.

Don't really need to. The stock ROM doesn't contain the lines to edit anyways.
Viper works, I highly recommend if using with a good IRS. Works great on my Nexus 5!! Best audio mod I've used.
Okay. I had installed beats on a previous phone awhile ago and wasn't at all impressed. The EQ in poweramp was good enough. However, seen this thread today and figured I'd give viper a shot being as how a couple people recommended it. Well, I am quite impressed. I've tried it on phone speaker and Bluetooth and it definitely offers an improvement, especially on Bluetooth. Hopefully, it is just as good on the headset, haven't been able to test it out yet. But yeah, definitely worth installing.

Do you have the "Enable/V4A-FX is powered on" check box checked for the output you're using? There is one to check for Bluetooth, Speaker, and Headphones. All three have been working for me on Google Music.
Yeah, I have that box checked for my headphones. I've been changing the eq settings and nothing happens. Going to uninstall and reinstall.

Thank Jesus! The low audio output even on headphones was driving me insane. Viper definitely got that taken care of for me on my N5.

Go to System-Settings/Sounds and set the Soundmod for Viper..
If You don't hear any changes go to Setiings in Viper and enable the FX Compatible Mode.
That will work.

Thanks it's working.. But only on Google music player app. I use poweramp and no effect on it at all, however on googles music player it's really noticeable. Also I was hoping this would work system wide or at least YouTube.

It works for me on Poweramp. Enable FX in Audio Settings and Test it. Sometime helps when You longpress the FX Button in Ton/Vol. Viper go open than uncheck the enable option and emable it again.

It *is* system-wide. It won't work on PowerAmp unless you turn off DVC in PowerAmp's settings.
V4A is a comprehensive audio-driver replacement, not just some software EQ.
Seen this app on XDA youtube channel and works beautifully on the note 3. Im running it on Knoxraid. My headphones finally sounds decent!

You could just use the Adept Sound setting in your settings under Audio and get the same results.
Driggity could you post your install process? I know this is a straight forward thing, but cannot get v4a to work for the life of me. I have it installed. I installed the driver (I usually pick high audio) I did try super audio quality and still nothing. Yes I did the reboots when the app asked

Okay so I looked all over xda, play store, xposed downloaded , Mahdi customization and pimp my ROM. I can't find anything that allows audio for screen recordings. I got this really cool megaman thing going on with my n5. Wallpapers and colors and sounds. I wanted to record it with the sound on. Any pointers?

That ^^ and I do know that ROM's have incorporated Audio Recording with Screen Recording. The original commit was made for ChameleonOS so they definitely have it. Other ROM's have it built in as well. As for which ones, you will have to do some research
I'll try the app. I'm currently running Mahdi. Good stuff. I'll read up on the Dev pages. Hope I find it baked in if the app doesn't work.

Or you can just plug a line in from phone to PC and record the audio then mix together.
That's how i usually do it.
This is an old video from my HTC one x.
I had to use a video recorder for the video because there want any way to record android video on the tegra3 soc at the time but I just used the headphone Jack to line in on pc to record and then mix together and you get something like this.

Ported Walkman in CM11 is sucks and those DSP manager equalizer is sure crap. Alternatively, use shuttle music player on play store. Works great with built-in equalizer.

Absolutely. It is possible. A friend of mine uses Walkman on Nexus 4. Simply download it, someone must have uploaded it.
But porting Sony's in built-in sound enhancements is tricky.

You're welcome.
I have it almost max since the volume is a bit lower than what I want. I use the earphones that came with the phone and a MDRZX100A, both volumes were pretty low with the latter unfortunately lower. Dunno if using other headphones would make the volume louder. I also use SoundBoost app.

Well I belive that is best set up for it:
400 at +3
1k at +1
2.5k at +3
6k at +5
16kHz at +7
Clear Bass at +4
Hope that helps u guys, I've been use that set up for a while n it's good for sound, u have bit touch on bass but not too much of it n bit of louder kick, it's all balanced quite well, so yeah enjoy ur music like ;p

Is the change considerable.. How good is it compared to stock
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG
I use it as well. It is like a much enhanced DSP manager and allows a lot of customization to the audio output. To be honest I haven't used stock ROM in ages so I can't give a comparison. I say give it a try, you can always revert back to stock if you don't like it.

Yeah.. but it still leaves some traces on system like the build prop edit which may be a problem during Ota update
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG
It requires a full reflash of the stock rom to get OTA updates working again after disabling V4A. I used it for a while but I am honestly not entirely sure of how much better it is, I'd love to read some proper feedback or even settings suggestions so I may install it again.

You cannot even compare it to the Stock Audio Effects mod.
This is leagues ahead.
And, moreover, it didn't edit my build.prop. I could flash the 4.4.4 OTA just by uninstalling V4A.

It's the third phone I'm using it on . It is MILES away compared to DSP or Stock Audio Manager . It has tons of customization options , presets and such and , at least for me , combined with PowerAmp , is amazing .
Unfortunately , as I've seen on my own , not all ROM's are compatible or recognizing it even with "Compatibility" option ticked in the settings or even pushed to system/apps or priv-apps , depending on where the last audio manager was ... But , again , that's due to some ROM's , not the app itself .
Oh , and considering it's free , it's really a godsend
hey,
which driver profile did you choose or recommend?
Battery Saving:
High Quality Mode:
Super Audio Quality
I am trying High Quality mode.
There is an ENORMOUS difference from stock or DSP to viper4android. The sound quality is superb and especially the bass... It sounds amazing with even semi decent headphones.
I will say, though, I haven't noticed a huge difference on the phone speaker, and I haven't tried it on Bluetooth.
Wow this is really way way better..
Never expected this much difference..
But sometimes the processing stops which can be seen from driver status option.. Any reason why
