Is the change considerable.. How good is it compared to stock
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG

I use it as well. It is like a much enhanced DSP manager and allows a lot of customization to the audio output. To be honest I haven't used stock ROM in ages so I can't give a comparison. I say give it a try, you can always revert back to stock if you don't like it.

Yeah.. but it still leaves some traces on system like the build prop edit which may be a problem during Ota update
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG

It requires a full reflash of the stock rom to get OTA updates working again after disabling V4A. I used it for a while but I am honestly not entirely sure of how much better it is, I'd love to read some proper feedback or even settings suggestions so I may install it again.

You cannot even compare it to the Stock Audio Effects mod.
This is leagues ahead.
And, moreover, it didn't edit my build.prop. I could flash the 4.4.4 OTA just by uninstalling V4A.

It's the third phone I'm using it on . It is MILES away compared to DSP or Stock Audio Manager . It has tons of customization options , presets and such and , at least for me , combined with PowerAmp , is amazing .
Unfortunately , as I've seen on my own , not all ROM's are compatible or recognizing it even with "Compatibility" option ticked in the settings or even pushed to system/apps or priv-apps , depending on where the last audio manager was ... But , again , that's due to some ROM's , not the app itself .
Oh , and considering it's free , it's really a godsend

hey,
which driver profile did you choose or recommend?
Battery Saving:
High Quality Mode:
Super Audio Quality
I am trying High Quality mode.

There is an ENORMOUS difference from stock or DSP to viper4android. The sound quality is superb and especially the bass... It sounds amazing with even semi decent headphones.
I will say, though, I haven't noticed a huge difference on the phone speaker, and I haven't tried it on Bluetooth.

Wow this is really way way better..
Never expected this much difference..
But sometimes the processing stops which can be seen from driver status option.. Any reason why

Is this the same thing as this? I'm wary of just installing some random file without much information.

You shouldn't need this. If your sig is correct and you still have CM7 use the DSPManager app. It can boost volume for speaker and through headset. I set all my eq. settings to 6.1 and it is loud and not distorted at all.

I'm on CM7 and this works beautifully (I've only tried it for external speaker) on setting 6+. Loud as hell with no distortion!
Volume+ is definitely a trusted app from an awesome developer "Meltus". He's the same one that released the app "Louder volume hack" ages ago. I've used his volume apps since back on my MT3G .
His free app is here if you guys want to read up on it first.
Thank you. Works great on RCMix HD v5.9.7.

What kernel are you using? I'm using this app with Lordmod 4.2 CFS -25mv undervolt, no problems reported here.
I personally notice distortion once I get to about +3 or +4 on my device. I keep it set to +2 and everything sounds great. It even seems to save the settings and re-apply on boot, great stuff!

Beats audio hack for hashcodes cm9?

Like the sign says..is there anyway to add beats audio to hashcodes stock cm9 rom. I know there are custom roms with beats built in but a lot of my apps just seem to work better with the stock cm9 rom he built.

I just installed the same one I always have, the one labelled for Gingerbread, I think.
Do you have a link to one that works? I've tried two or three different ones floating around and I get an immediate system sound f/c upon reboot.

It's a set of software libraries that should provide you with better sound I'm able to hear a clear difference when comparing the stock ROM and gedeROM, but be the judge of that yourself.
I thinks it's funny how Beats Audio on the hardware side is so terrible but the software aspect is pretty damn good. I was really skeptical but the bass is much fatter in comparison and the whole thing just has better sound overall. It's now totally obvious to me the main design focus was cosmetics to make all the little hipster kids happy when they should've been smart and focused primarily on functionality. But who does that nowadays, right? On a side note, I can't stand the ridiculous white ones. They might as well make them bright yellow with flashing lights, like "Hey, everyone, look how trendy I am!"

Oh don't get me wrong i'm using ged's rom too and love it..i just have an issue where dsp manager does absolutely nothing (ie: i move the sliders no sound change) and any other eq app i've tried f/c's immediately when opening. I love the sound change beats provides but i also would like to be able to fine tune with and eq. I've flashed G's rom with a fresh install and 3 different downloads and still get f/c's on any eq app? So i thought maybe one of the thousands of beats.zips floating around might work if i flash it over a stock cm rom. I want your rom to work for me ged, but the lack of eq bums me out. Any idea what i'm doing wrong with dsp manager?

I tried DSP yesterday. I heard difference as soon as a changed a setting. This is from the internal speakers not headphones.
So is it possible to add Beat Audio to, say, Modaco ROM?

I installed the Beats 5.1 ZIP from this thread, using TWRP on Hashcode's #10 ROM.
Works great, other than the DSP no longer works and the ROM likes to throw an occasional error at boot up to tell me so. I think this is generally intentional on the part of Beats, since it now manages sound. Since stock DSP no longer manages sound, it would make sense it no longer works.

WTF?!? IIRC, Beats and HTC have an exclusivity deal in place. I'm surprised HTC hasn't requested this be removed from Play.

I've tried almost all sound mods in XDA . In v7, Acid seems to abandoned Noozxoide. So if you're a Noozxoide fan (audiophile), you're gonna be disappointed. In v5, you get to choose either Awesome or Noozxoide. Meaning, you still got an option to choose. My recommendation: Make a nandroid, delete all current sound mods, try Viper4Android.. High clarity and powerful bass... I installed it on all my devices after I tried it once. It's only a 300kb file with installation instructions in it. To me, the other BIG BRAND sound mods can't even come close...

Megabassbeats for jb v2 is way better than fancy acid sound mod.
As per my experiencing and long term testing I can say that all sound mods practically dont give any differen quality (we dont have dedicated sound chip). Our default system lib files are much capable to give high quality sound. If anybody want good quality sound then use high quality headphones with good music player having wide variety of effective equilizers with deep bass and treble effect. For me poweramp perform best job in music player category.

You should try before replying. Have you tried Viper4Android's Xhifi? If you an audiophile, you should really give it a go. It's only a 300kb zip file with installation instructions in it.
Edit: In fact, try it with stock earbuds/ common headphones...

Go for Xhifi.. No probs to use the ICS file if on jellybean. The instructions are in the zip. Unzip and you need to change 2 system files to .bak and then replace it with their file found in the zip. It written by a Chinese fellow from China. Damn, he's a sound mod talent.
Edit: I used to a big Acid Audio fan too.. Even followed their FB page for news.
I've tried acid audio v5 and also viper4android... but I think acid audio is quite better... I mainly listen to music and I find better sound quality with acid audio...

Acid v5 was good but I found its bass a bit too hard when compared to Xhifi's while Xhifi can more even specific by using its Ho clarity and Lo contour tunings. Too bad, I'm not into FX..That's like really going into details just using device's speakers. Anyway, Best of all, it doesn't leave tons of files on your device.

I'm using XHiFi now.. The sound seems to be pretty good.. And like mentioned above just three files replaced and so simple no mess like the others..
Anyway I have always had the issue of audio skipping.. That is, there is random short pause which I find really annoying.. I've tried nearly all mods, except acid and none of them seem to solve a the issue..
It would be great if someone has a solution to that.. I'm on cm10 and poweramp. Audio buffer setting is max in poweramp..

****, me too. Gonna research on this and keep you updated.
Btw, I used awesome beats for a while on poweramp and realized it sucks pretty bad, a good poweramp config wins every time. That beats crap is just overhyped dr dre fanboy ultra treble/bass
How am I supposed to UNINSTALL the previous mods? The post also says to remove dsp manager I guess. I've installed the zip version V5.. I can see the 'acid audio technology enabled' notification but no percievable difference in sound and it's not that I'm not good at listening. Is there any possibility that it doesn't get installed properly even though I can see the acid audio app? And yes I'm on cm9 a14 and the nicsptl a11 kernel.

Driggity could you post your install process? I know this is a straight forward thing, but cannot get v4a to work for the life of me. I have it installed. I installed the driver (I usually pick high audio) I did try super audio quality and still nothing. Yes I did the reboots when the app asked
