Strange screen probem need help - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Intermitent darker bar on note pro screen, tried screen flicker fix and didn't work
Need help, any ideas?
Thanks guys!

Which fix are you referring to? The developer options one?

Yes, however had to take the tablet to Samsung because it was a hardware problem, aparently the frame was causing the screen cable to come loose some times witch was causing the problem!
But thanks anyway!

[Q] Replaced digitizer touch screen on Asus Transformer T300 but is not working

Hi, my asus transformer T300 screen cracked. So I replaced the digitizer with a brand new one. (Correct Model 5158n) Put everything back and all looks ok but the touch screen is not working at all. My tablet comes on and I can see the screen but I unable to touch anything on the screen. I opened the tablet back up and reconnected everything about 5 times but the touch screen still doesn't work. Any Ideas. When I navigate down to the developer options using the keyboard and select show touches, I get a load of white dots flying around the screen. What does this mean? Do I have a faulty digitizer or is there anything else I can try to get the digitizer touch screen to start working.
Many Thanks

Did you toggle the service switch to off before removing the old digitizer?

No I didnt. do you think that has affected the digitizer ot the touchscreen board? and do you think not toggling the switch would have affected anything else? How do you think I can fix this problem? Would it be worth replacing the touchscreen main board?

There should be a little switch near the power button on the main board! Flip that before disconnecting anything and flip it again when everything is connected again

Touch Screen Issue

Hello everyone,
i'm experiencing a problem with my shield tablet since couple days ago. My touch screen is not working. Up until yesterday i had to reboot in order to make it to work but now even when I'm rebooting is not working.
I tried to reset to factory setting but it's still the same. I'm curently running lollipop. Does anyone has a solution?
Thanks in advance for your replys guys.!
Does the screen work when you restart it in bootloader mode?

hopefully you get a good answer mine is starting to lose multitouch at times.
Then your device is sadly broken.
Just RMA it to Nvidia, they will replace it swiftly.
I've just got this issue today. Using my tablet normally and suddenly the screen touches aren't executed or responsive. I haven't updated to lollipop still using Kitkat 4.4.2
I am on my second shield tab and multi-touch is a problem. For example, in a game with analog joystick on left side of screen and pressing the action buttons on the right side to not both work at the same time. Happens on multiple games. Is this a known issue and is there a way to calibrate or correct it? Thanks.
EDIT: i just did a touch screen calibrate and that fixed it. good to go for now

Note 12.2 p900 LCD Flickering Fix

Flickering finally fixed. hardware wise
Flickering issue solved!
Try this at your own RISK!!
I recently solved flickering issue to my note 12.2 P900 wifi version.
I'd had to open the back cover.
The battery pushes on the cable for both the screen and wifi cable.
I raised the motherboard up with a thin piece of plastic sheet and
problem solved!
I had no warranty so I went ahead to do it.
The flickering solved. no flicking with Full brightness even when battery was 10%.
I did this after I replaced my Lcd cable from ebay seller that did not help.
so its the battery casing
pushing the Lcd cable connection to the motherboard that was causing the flickering I concluded.
after I read somewhere that samsung had replaced battery unit as a fix for flickering lcd.
Hope it helps someone as I have found no solution to this anywhere.
developer option, resetting ... none helped.
reply if anyone has a question

This is working for me 100%.
I havent had other people reporting its working yet.
I had undone the fix the other day for making video and
It flickered badly. After i carefully place the fix later
It worked... 0 issue for a full day
Peter, can you redo your video using your phone in landscape mode instead of portrait mode? This is one of the first take apart videos for the 12.2 and we need to be able to see it full screen not a little window that has black bars that cut off most of the show. Much thanks for the info.

Touchscreen issue

Hey all,
Recently I'm having some troubles with my touchscreen. I've had this problem a few times now, and it seems to act up more often now. Sometimes the screen doesn't register my finger. After I reboot, it works fine again. I believe it's always on the same place. Take a look at the screenshots that I've added.
Is this software related or hardware related? I'm in doubt if I should send it back for repair. I'm afraid that i'll lose my nillkin tempered glass screen protector
greets,
swa100
Suddenly the problem occurred twice today. It's ok after reboot. Who knows what's going on?
4 hours ago I decided to do a factory reset. About half an hour ago this happened: see screenshot.
I totally have the same problem. But I am sure that the spot, where the recognition does not work, is changing.
Do you have any tips to solve the problem? Or are you sure, that it is a hardware related issue?
Same problem
After looking it up it seems we are the only ones to voice this issue which led me to believe this is hardware. I did a warranty swap and now I've never been happier spending 600 bucks on this. That's the short of it.
Hello,
For touch screen problem try this:
-in dialer type *#2663#
-TSP firmware update (general)
You should see "PASS"
That have solve my touch screen problem...
Would be too great if this is the solution!

This does not work on my Verizon S6. I only get a Verizon recording stating the call cannot be completed as dialed.

Touchscreen problems

I'm having problems with the touchscreen. Most of the time it's working alright but just like this, out of the blue, starts missing touches, swipes, etc.. sometimes this problem is very VERY noticeable and embarassing. I don't know if it's software or hardware related, but I fear this can't be solved. I'm thinking about selling the device before it starts loosing too much value.
See this video i made with my old 950XL to the brand new XZP:https://1drv.ms/v/s!Auxdy70nvM2ppaRjHTtgdbJRe56rzQ
Clearly a hardware issue with your phone. I recommend using your warranty and send it back where you bought it from so they can fix it.
i just think you use the point of your finger where it can't really "touch" with the smooth skin. when it does this try with your whole fingerprint and you will see. it's like touching it with nails. your problem is a no-problem and happens to all capacitive screens on all smartphones

Hi, I can guarantee you the problem happens even by using the fingertip (polpastrello) and not just with the nail. Infact, the display itself its quite sensitive and works without problems even with the nail.
What I've shown in the video is I think the worst episode that happened. Most of the time the screen works without issues.. but maybe once I start typing in WhatsApp or inserting a new address in chrome the stock keyboard (which is swiftkey) misses a touch or two and it's very annoying making it impossible to write long sentences.
There's a similar discussion going on sony's forum: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ-Premium/TOUCHSCREEN-wiered-problem/m-p/1236201#M2473
I have the same problem, but with fingerprint sensor too(sometimes it does not detect fingerprint correctly) .

I find that if your finger is the slightest bit wet (hot sweaty) it will not work, but the moment I dry my finger it works. So it appears to be very sensitive to moisture. Not sure if this can be adjusted or not.
I have the same problem. Mostly around the right side of the keyboard while typing. The back space key area is a mess once in a while. I'm using Google keyboard if that makes any difference.

Try touchscreen test first. *#*#7378423#*#*
Reset. Try again. Update/reflash try again. Replace if needed.
My XZP has no touch issues at all.

I have the same problem with you, especially the right side of the screen.
I am thinking maybe it is my screen protector are too thick or something
I will try to remove my screen protector to test the screen later
I have no screen protector. I don't have the problem anymore after a factory reset.

I also have this problem, it's rather annoying. I'm hoping for a software update will fix this. Don't really want to reset my phone to fix this.

It has been a number of days since factory reset and no more touch issues. It may be worth the effort.

I reset my G8141 last night and still the issue persists. Seems to happen on mine during a gaming session, the phone gets a little warm and the screen looses its sensitivity Seems hardware to me - I doubt its software..
Well I also reset my phone, it did help a little, but still happens. The thing is if I do send this for warranty I know Sony will report back with nothing wrong. Maybe my thumbs just don't get along with this screen.
I seem to have a similar issue. It's not restricted to a particular area of the screen, I've activated the option of seeing where the touch is, sometimes it just skips a touch and does not show it. There are moments when it happens more often and moments when it doesn't happen for some time.
Seems most of the times to be related to changes in the touch pattern, like inverting scroll direction in a page or going from swipe to single touch.
I've tried to reset once clear cache a couple of times, but with no effect. When it happens while scrolling if I keep swiping the finger, sometimes it sees it intermittently, sometimes not but if I touch with another finger near that one, the touch of the second one is shown correctly.
I cannot quite figure out if it's more of a software of hardware related issue. Before this I used a meizu m2 note and I did not change the way I touch the screen, but never had this kind of issue.
