[Q] Vertical line on screen? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Note edge with Tmobile USA. No root or anything special done to it
I had a weird issue where there was like a line going down from top to bottom of my screen. it was about 1 pixel in width and very noticable on yellow or red backgrounds. For example, on snapchat's yellow splash screen, I'd see a green line. Or on youtube's red bar, I'd see a black line.
I contacted Samsung support and the agent had no idea, but suggested I removed the battery and put it back in to see if I'd get lucky. Strangely enough... the line is gone after that. Any idea what could cause something like this? Hoping it doesn't happen again, but I'm keeping a close eye on things.

I have the same issue but it's a red vertical line. Removing the battery did not fix it.

it has a deadpixel bro, mine has that issue to 1 pixel and amonth later it has about 5 to 6 pixel ,i have replaced my screen with

Screen Damage?

Hi, I received a new Fuze from AT&T two days ago and I have noticed a small, subtle, yellowish dot on the upper left hand corner of the screen. It is barely noticeable unless I am in an app with a white or grey background. I don't particularly mind this blemish, I am just wondering if any of you guys think it can/will worsen? Should i send it back to AT&T now? Should i wait and see if it gets worse at all? Or should I just leave it to luck and deal with it the way it is, it doesn't really effect the phones performance or display that much at all. All opinions welcome, thanks.
it's called a stuck / dead pixel
1 pixel == 3 sub pixels 1 red 1 green 1 blue as in rgb
each one can die in 2 ways
on stuck or off stuck
most lcd panels really got some pixel errors if one really check up on it
there are programs which can excise pixels and temp make stuck pixels work again but
sooner or later they get stuck again if one can live with it depend on how anal one is about noticing such things
It doesn't appear to be one pixel, it almost looks like its an image of the sun. Brighter in the middle and fades out at the edges, in the shape of a circle. I'd put it at about .25 inches in diameter. As long as it doesn't get worse I really don't care.
I have got 5 "suns" on my Touch PRO and one green pixel I can see it well on black picture.
Yes it is not so nice but phone is going well with it so i don't do anything with it
But when you have got a new phone, i will send it back
Hm, well as long as no one sees the problem getting worse I really don't mind at all.
I don't think it would be worth the hassle with AT&T over something so minuscule.

Galaxy note 5 screen issue?

So, my first note 5 has a problem with black background, in the middle of the screen appears 3 small lines of light gray that is not visible unless you look for it. So I returned it for a new note 5. Did not have the issue above. Now, after 3 months of using my second note 5, I notice that whenever I used black wallpaper there is a a light gray rectangle at the bottom of the screen, a big one too. Under the icons and above samsung pay. Is this normal? My note 3 never has this issue.
Here is the image.
I see the exact same thing. I think it's normal. Has something to do with the dock placement and the notification bar.

Samsung S7 random green dots and green lines

Hello. A few hours ago my phone (samsung s7) started to display some green dots on black background (only on black, no other colors) and green lines in gallery and camera (on black spots). It might be a bug or something...the phone was kept on my desk, near me, no damages, those green things just random popped up and i do not know what to do...the screen is not damaged and the phone is just 2-3 months old.
Also those green lines are appearing only on the half left side of the phone and also those now appear on facebook, when watching photos there are some black edges above and below the photos, and the green vertical lines appear on them.
,
Some help? What might be the problem? Sorry for bad english, im not a native.
Sounds like possibly dead pixels, is it the same for anything black? i.e. a picture, a movie, a game etc all the same green dots?
Might be worth letting Samsung know if it s a hardware fault

Green dots occur on black background, only in a spot. ( left half side )
Green vertical lines appear when opening snapchat for example, looking on facebook at photos, or in gallery. ( left half side )
Both do occur when i use camera, dots appear in a large number on an black object so it is a problem with the black color. ( left half side )
I will add some photos and maybe a video, if i manage to do with another phone.
I dont have problems with those green things in games...havent tried a movie yet.

That looks like the screen might be shafted
Well more specifically the ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the Mainboard, one for Samsung for replacement me thinks

Damn, i will send the phone to them.
The only one thing that annoys me is that this happened suddenly, if it was done by an accident it would be different but i didn't do anything to the phone...i will get it to them.
No probs, its an arse that its happened through My experience for things like that happening is when either sitting on the phone in error or taking it apart and having a faff (yet to tear down an S7 mind)
if you got it from a network provider check with them for warranty as they may just swap it outright for you

Is this a screen defect?

I got my S8+ just 2 days ago and didnt use it on 1st day coz I dont have a case and screen protector for it yet. 2nd day of having it, I started setting it up with Apps, my infos and adjusting the settings to maximize the battery life of it. Usually I start with a black theme and a black wallpaper. So with all the darkness of the screen I did, didn't notice this until now when thinking and Google searching on how can I make Bixby on a darker or black theme. So now I got focused on it's lighter screen, I started noticing the corners and those 2 lumps which I circled in the picture upper right corner of the screen and weird line on the screen running end to end horizontally. Really obviously visible when on Bixby screen or on google search bar.
Just want to confirm if I'm the only one have this issues or it's just normal. Thinking of bringing it back asap.
Thanks.

Mine doesn't have that.
Mine doesn't have that, it looks like a dead pixel, I would exchange it ASAP.
There is another thread of another user same thing but oposite side. Argued me that its not a dead pixel. Thats what it looks **** to me as well but hey i dont knkw anythin...
Thanks for the inputs guyz, will definitely bring this one back and ask for an exchange.
Weird is the line doesn't show anymore but the 2 lumps are still there. Will pass by first at the Samsung store in the mall today and compare mine to their demo and maybe ask some questions as well.

Had this on my S7 Edge, and I got this a few months after rooting so I couldn't even get it fixed. A few of my friends also have gotten this issue on their S7 phones after a few months.
It is definitely a group of dead pixels. I would get it exchanged.

Screen Discoloration

I hope that it's viewable in the linked photo but my girlfriend's phone is now showing a line on the upper half of the screen, has anyone else had this issue?

I can't see anything
I'll have to see if I can get a better picture of it, it's a solid line that's visible with white, green, and blue backgrounds.
I can't see it in your picture, but I did have screen burn in on my Note8. The bottom navbar and 2 homescreen icons burnt in pretty good. Luckily Samsung was really quick on a LCD replacement. Contacted them, shipped it in on a Thursday and had it back the following Friday. I'd say reach out to them! My phone was a pre-order, so I assume one of the first batches. Best of luck!
There's definitely a something funky going on with your screen. There's a distinctive line running about 1/3 of the way through. Lighter on the-left, darker on the right.
Screen issues.
Hey I just wanted to say i have the exact same issue. I don't have a dead pixel right on the line but I've noticed that no matter the brightness or even the resolution I have my screen on there is always a line of discoloration at the same exact spot. I have contacted samsung and it's under warranty, I just have to get to a store to replace the screen. I wish there was an easier way I could fix it instead of me having to go out and get it repaired.
