Is my one plus one rooted? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm new to the one plus one and I'm coming from a galaxy note 3 after enabling developer's options I found this in it ...root access..it was on disable but I enable apps and adb...does this mean that my phone is now rooted? I'm sceptical only because looking on YouTube it seems that its more difficult then just pressing a button...thanks

No it isn't rooted, you're right, it isn't quite that simple. But it isn't hard either, this is a very ready device to root. Head over to my guide thread and follow sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, this will unlock your bootloader, install TWRP recovery, backup your stock ROM and root your stock ROM (respectively).

Because while there is a built in Superuser in CM11S, it is disabled, and simply checking that box in Developer Options doesn't enable it. Enabling the built in Superuser is actually quite an involved process. There's a thread that details it here in our General Section or Development Section (sorry, can't remember which).

as an experiment, completely remove xposed, reboot, and try. chances are that it is xposed itself causing the issue. if its still not working, we will go further after. but with xposed still installed, thats all the help youll get from me.

thats what it was, halo! it had to be disabled to install apps. the install button would be grayed out. anything similar would go through the same process, even regular apps. thank you btw

Do you have "Unknown Sources" checked under the security settings. It should prompt you if you don't but just in case, check that.
I've got the same problem. I can't install apk's since I'm using the latest stock 4.4.3 update. I've never rooted my phone or whatsoever. I can't seem to find a solution for it

I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to install apks. Even on stock and no root, I am fairly sure you are able to.
Check this out. . We discovered this in the Paranoid Android Community the other day.
If you have Echo Notifications Lockscreen installed, whether you have it activated or not, it disables installation of apks and the OK button on certain other dialogs. I went nuts trying to figure out what happened...

I didnt say it was in your post - I said it was at the web site you get when you click the link that you put in your post - click the link - go the site you linked to - navigate thru the site and you will see they offer a rootable option for the S7 - If you had looked thru the site before you posted the question you might have discovered what a farce this was in the first place. It is under the FAQ Link -

One Click has been around for a long time, But they are limited on devices they can actually root.......... This Program does not have Note 5 included in their rooting archive ......... So No,
They cannot root the Note 5 ..... I know I tried it .... but it does not stop them from advertising they can
FYI
Guys I posted in the S6 edge plus Q&A section that my S6 edge plus has the device OEM unlock option like the nexus 6 when you enable developer mode, so maybe the note 5 does too, I have a nexus 6 and oem unlock had to be enabled to unlock the bootloader to root safely, so check and see if you have it under developer mode and if so maybe all we have to do is wait for root.....oh yeah as usual don't accept any software updates until we know patients pays off!.

Smart Manager

Anyone have smart manager Pre-installed? Does it only come with international phone? I check my system/priv-app I see that I have folder call SmartManager_PROVIDER and in that I have SmartManager_PROVIDER.APK but can't install it. I have ATT note 5.
Yes, it comes installed on the W8 version of the phone (Canada). It's some sort of gimmicky phone cleaner app. I disabled it using Package Disabler. You're not missing out.

This is what I see from file manager.
Have it on t mobile. I like it. Allows you to select apps you want to stop running in the background and its linked to battery stats so only way to see them in settings on the phone.

Not working on Verizon Note 5
Smart Manager is good. It has 4 sections(Battery, Storage, RAM, Security)
Battery section allows you to control battery by bringing all battery related settings together.
RAM section You can choose, which applications should be running or not in back ground,
Storage section - It allows you to clear junk files / unnecessary files (Only this is powered by clean master, though you don't have to install it separately)
Security - brings all Knox security settings here.

General questions before i get the phone

Hi,
I have had to get a new phone and have decided on the honor 8 due to specs and vides i have watched, also the price it retails for was a big factor how ever i have come from the LG G3 (it set on fire -_-)
Is it worth me unlocking the boot loader and what exactly are the benefits to it ?
I will want to root the phone as i use apps that require this will i void warranty or will i be able to undo this and keep warranty ?
Also i do like the TWRP i had on my G3 but only for the backup option, is it worth me changing the recovery as i have noticed no custom roms anyway and by the looks there is a tool that i can use for backups ?
Thanks for reading
Unlocking bootloader won't get you much (only custom recovery now).
Honor don't void warranty if you unlock the bootloader or root the device
And for me, it's not worth to flash TWRP now, no custom ROMs and it doesn't work with all models
perfect thank you for the response that everything i need to know, now im just waiting as i have 24 hours before my phone is delivered aha.
Enjoy
Don't unlock your bootloader and just enjoy your phone as much as possible at this stage.
Unlock maybe 1 year later...

Disable Apps Permanently

Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to disable/uninstall system apps without root. In this specific case, I would like to remove YouTube and Google Duo, however, I tried to disable + force stop the apps but they reappear after a while. Next I tried to disable them via ADB but even then they reappeared like nothing happened.
I'm currently using a OnePlus 7 Pro on the latest OOS, I rather not root the phone just yet. As I don't want to void my UK warranty.
Any suggestions would be welcome
