Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to disable/uninstall system apps without root. In this specific case, I would like to remove YouTube and Google Duo, however, I tried to disable + force stop the apps but they reappear after a while. Next I tried to disable them via ADB but even then they reappeared like nothing happened.
I'm currently using a OnePlus 7 Pro on the latest OOS, I rather not root the phone just yet. As I don't want to void my UK warranty.
Any suggestions would be welcome

as an experiment, completely remove xposed, reboot, and try. chances are that it is xposed itself causing the issue. if its still not working, we will go further after. but with xposed still installed, thats all the help youll get from me.

thats what it was, halo! it had to be disabled to install apps. the install button would be grayed out. anything similar would go through the same process, even regular apps. thank you btw

Do you have "Unknown Sources" checked under the security settings. It should prompt you if you don't but just in case, check that.
I've got the same problem. I can't install apk's since I'm using the latest stock 4.4.3 update. I've never rooted my phone or whatsoever. I can't seem to find a solution for it

I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to install apks. Even on stock and no root, I am fairly sure you are able to.
Check this out. . We discovered this in the Paranoid Android Community the other day.
If you have Echo Notifications Lockscreen installed, whether you have it activated or not, it disables installation of apks and the OK button on certain other dialogs. I went nuts trying to figure out what happened...

If you are running Package Disabler Pro, the developer said you need to enable all disabled packages before updating Android.

Wow, hope it's true. When has Verizon ever been first of the major US carriers to release an update?

Then, most likely, the update will fail. Updates like this have checks to make sure that you haven't modified the system.
Anyone try using the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant instead of waiting for the OTA?
On the disable, what if I used Debloater from GatesJr? Same thing, re-enable back?

Mine is available too, but I may wait to later / When I'm home I can bring the phone back to stock, app wise.
Are you guys going to factory reset after the install? Is that necessary?
Downloaded but nervous to install. Going to wait for others to install and confirm validity for use with my Gear VR.
Today I decided to go back to stock. And so I did and the i rooted.
But i inatalled GMusicFS and it says i don't have root, even having SuperSU and other APPs say I have. Can anybody help me with that?
Personally I think it's an issue with the app. It does not appear it's been updated for marshmallow.

Does anybody know an app like this one?
Hi,
I have the HD 8 2017 with google play and nova launcher installed. And I managed to hide the amazon apps from this thread. I only installed very few apps like Google Chrome, Facebook, Youtube, Netflix.
But few from these apps like facebook and netflix (somethimes youtube) is running in background when I check the running applications and it eat some of the RAM on my devices. I need to stop this manually to free up the ram. And soon it will auto-start again.
Just like to know if there is an app killer/disabler that I can use to stop this apps from auto-starting. Or kill the apps immediately after using it.
Thanks in advance!
Greenify.

Have you tried naptime? To run unrooted you just have to run a couple of adb commands.

Yes they are, but I also just realized that in the playstore it says Android 6.0 and up which is my bad for not realizing sooner so it may not work. But worth a try.

@jhannbernas & @THERAJ12 you can try an app in the play store called Brevent though, that should work on the tablets.

When restoring using HiSuite, it responds with "Failed to restore".
I'm on build 10.0.0.134 of EMUI - could this be the problem? Is that the build that others have had success with?

1. Check your drivers and make sure they're all installed properly
2. Make sure you use the provided cable
3. Need to have a Sim card inside and also logged into huawei account
4. USB debugging needs to be turned on and also the hisuite USB access.
Had the same issue too and doing all the above plus a a reboot or two and it worked fine after that. Firmware versions doesn't effect it.
Hi, plan on this phone as my daily driver so I will probably runs anything on it, including sensitive banking and security apps, I have saw lots not recommending using this method as it opened up some loopholes (i.e. Google SafetyNet failed), any source or research being done that pointed out any insecurity of using such method? (i.e. Prone to information leaking, etc.)
Thank you in advance. Great community!
