Applying Permaroot...
Waiting for system to settle...
Checking if it worked...
Error: Something went wrong. Permaroot doesn't appear to have worked, rebooting phone.
Debug information - 'ls -l /system/xbin/su':
/system/xbin/su: No such file or directory

I give up. Click on the recovery howto in my signature and flash custom recovery. After that, flash a rooted ROM. If you dislike this advice, then kindly search harder. People generally get irritated when then are answering the same questions 10 times a day because people are too lazy.
superoneclick (gingerbreak exploit) work for me on stock V20c, check this thread:

Hi guys, regarding the problem about rooting the original GB, it can be done, and it's not that complicated.
First of all there are a couple of things that you have to consider before starting to root.
1. Be sure that you have installed the original V20G GB ROM.
2. if you have it installed and tried different methods to root on it do a factory reset before trying this one.
3. Be absolutely sure that you have all the drives installed when working with the phone in USB debugging mode, if not install them.
4. Download SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse, after download extract the files into a folder with the same name as the archive.
5. After you extracted the files, go to C:\Windows\System32 and copy the cmd.exe to the folder where you extracted the files, in my case C:\Users\myuser\Desktop\SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse\ADB.
6. Connect the phone to the PC with Debugging mode (Enter the phone settings menu, to the Development and tick the USB debugging mode)
7. right click on cmd.exe from the ADB folder, Run as administrator, than write:
adb devices (after this command you should see your device id)
adb shell
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf,
Do not close the window, live it like that.
8. Start SuperOneClick.exe, leave the settings to the SuperOneClick as they are when it opens, click on ROOT and wait, it will say Starting ADB server..., than it will do it's job and than it will appear Waiting for device... it will say ok and that if it freezes while running psneuter do the following:
a. Turn USB Debugging OFF wait until it will appear in the window again Starting ADB server..., after that,
b. Turn USB Debugging ON, and after this trick it will start rooting.
This is the method that i did twice and it worked like a charm.
After this it will ask you to reboot the phone, DO NOT FORGET, and after the reboot click on the SuperUser icon in the phone's menu. it will aks you if you allow or deny it's access. click allow. After this you must connect to the internet via Wireless or a apn, click on the superuser icon again if you exit it, go to settings, scroll down and you will see Su Binary v.XXXX, click on that to update it, than go to market and search the super user app and update it. Also update busybox. After this you have root access and you can install a custom recovery. Also you can install your preferred Kernel if you don't like the stock one.
If you do not get the Allow Deny message the root was not completed successfully. do a factory reset and try again the same steps.
see images attached as proof.
Well, I installed V20 C via doktornotor method but couldn root it by flashing the signed su binary via recovery.
So I tried the above mentioned method and it worked. But every time the Superuser Force closes and its too buggy.. Any solutions. ?
Yes, same here, i tried doktornotor's method both 20C and 20G and didnt work, this Super1click works but su force closes everytime Any ideeas??
====================EDIT============================
I managed to root gingerbread with doktornotor's method V20g
Just use his image, BUT dont use su-2.3.6.3-cd-signed.zip
Download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110733 su-2.3.6.2-efgh-signed.zip and install it wia clockworkmod recovery zip installer and works like a charm
omfg! plz make Zroot for 2.3.3

Should I type the comma at the end on cmd? Can you please explain what exactly the above command does? Does it create the above file on the above filepath on device? If I typed both
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
and
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf,
should I erase one of these files?
Without comma.

I have also read many thread about rooting 2.3.3 through super one click {like this one h**p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200167} but people were saying something about force close errors... So can anybody provide me a successful and error free method of rooting it. and Please also share me the method to unroot it.

I've read in a topic that I can't find, that after rooting usb debugging should always be on and disabling it could cause problems. I can't remember what kind of problems. Is that true? Should I keep it enabled?

[guide] how to root optimus net p690

As Lg optimus net have not proper section and as it is successor of o1. I think its right place to post this thread.
After searching and trying many forums over 2-3weeks i m able to root my phone successfully. As there is not a single forum here to root this phone i want to make one, to help those searching for this.
i thanks to "g0mezz " whose method for rooting another phone worked for mine too
First of all there are a couple of things that you have to consider before starting to root.
1. Be sure that you have installed the original V20B o v10c version software on rom. I have tested on these two.
2. If you have it installed and tried different methods to root on it do a factory reset before trying this one.
3. Be absolutely sure that you have all the drives installed when working with the phone in USB debugging mode, if not install them.
4. Download SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse or later version( i used 1.9.5) , after download extract the files into a folder with the same name as the archive.
5. After you extracted the files, go to C:\Windows\System32 and copy the cmd.exe to the ADB folder where you extracted the files, in my case C:\Users\myuser\Desktop\SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse\ADB.
6. Enable USB Debugging mode (Enter the phone settings menu>Application> Development and tick the USB debugging mode) and then connect phone to pc via usb cable. (DONT PRESS USB STORAGE) .
7. right click on cmd.exe from the ADB folder, Run as administrator, than write:
adb devices (press enter)(after this command you should see your device id)
adb shell (press enter) (after this command you should see $)
$ echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf, (press enter)
Do not close the window, live it like that.
8. Start SuperOneClick.exe, leave the settings to the SuperOneClick as they are when it opens, click on ROOT and wait, it will say Starting ADB server..., than it will do it's job and than it will appear Waiting for device... it will say ok and that if it freezes while running psneuter do the following:
a. Turn USB Debugging OFF(DO NOT DISCONNECT CABLE) wait until it will appear in the window again Starting ADB server... after that
b. Turn USB Debugging ON and after this trick it will start rooting.
After this it will ask you to reboot the phone, DO NOT FORGET, and after the reboot click on the SuperUser icon in the phone's menu. it will aks you if you allow or deny it's access. click allow. Also update busy box.
IF this doesn't work do a factory reset and again repeat these steps.
if this guide works for you do post replies and ...... dont forget to press thanks button

these is from another forum:
<<ok new download link for firmware update http://www.multiupload.com/5DI5AAL5BQ
i have found a issue with it when you go into android market because this as the latest android market apk it will let you download games etc free and paid but on some it comes up not enough memory, but i noticed by going into settings and clearing google framework and shutting down tablet a few times it allowed me to download a lot more i have put a earlier android market apk on which works perfect, but when i shut down tablet it goes back to newest android market apk?so if you know of a way to delete the android market apk on the tablet let me know?
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
please note before you start you must have your tablet charging with tablet charger otherwise it will not let you put firmware on tablet
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
the way of flash the firmware of v10
sd-card into tablet while turned off
1,press the "menu"+""power"ON button at the same time
2.release the “power” after the boot up.and keep holding menu
3.pls release the "menu" after the there is a flash firmware picture with a android holding a brown bag/box
4. then you will have to do some scrolling with these buttons
5 function of the button front of the device is page up
6 function of the button of "meun" is page down
7 function of the button of "Home" is confirmation (to install firmware)
you will have to scroll to install from sd-card then press home button
you will have to scroll to your firmware them press home button to install
if you ever need to reflash or restart your tablet for any reason you can do this by holding the the on button and menu?which will allow you to reload firmware etc >>

USB OTG control problem
I've updated the firmware successfully.
But now I have a new issue with the USB OTG. I cannot use the USB OTG control to change from host mode to device mode. Everytime I try to go and click on USB OTG control, it throws error "the application USB OTG (com....) has stopped unexpectedly". Ive tried to reset to factory defaults...but now seems the problem is still stuck there. I cannot go into ADB to do the rooting without enabling the 'device' mode connection for the USB. pl help.
Ive googled but none of the solutions seem to be working.

USB problem
hi all
I.ve updated with the file from the above post and noe I have the same problem with the usb
force close - no way to connect to PC
please help
You can try this method to root, it is for another similar vimicro device:
Q: How to root the Haipad M8?
A: You need the GingerBreak and some manual work.
You need to have an installed Android SDK with adb.exe or take this archive with adb.exe only. And you need to have a modified USB driver.
Connect the Haipad M8 to the PC (USB OTG). You will have to install modified USB driver if it is needed.
"USB debugging mode" must be enabled in the device.
Run the cmd.exe and go to a directory where the adb.exe is located (for example: cd d:\adb)
Run command:
Code:
adb root
adb shell
must be # in the prompt (root mode)
Code:
cd /bin
check a symlink su
Code:
ls -l --color=never su
"su -> busybox" is not right. Delete the symlink su
Code:
rm ./su
Install the Gingerbreak and root device.
Install the RootCheker and check the root.
Instructions taken from here: http://www.chinadigitalcomm.com/haipad-m8-vimicro-vc882-t10830.html

Can you try to install the attached package and see how it goes. Just confirm you want to replace the existing version. It worked for me.

I've updated the firmware successfully.
But now I have a new issue with the USB OTG. I cannot use the USB OTG control to change from host mode to device mode. Everytime I try to go and click on USB OTG control, it throws error "the application USB OTG (com....) has stopped unexpectedly". blog.mcbub.com/index.php/tablet-pc/10-2-zenithink-c91-android-4-0-firmware-update-guide-beta-version
Do you think it would work on superpad? Because in guess that zenithink is kind of same thing like superpad m I wrong?

Hi,
I'm a newbie here, i tried rooting my sony xperia tipo dual
Android version : 4.0.4 / kernel version : 3.0.8-perf / Build number : 11.0.A.6.8
using unlockroot
USB debug enabled-MTP mode- sony pc compnaion installed-MTP driver installed
i run unlockroot, waited for long time but nothing popped to choose my device
so i tried hitting root thats what happened :
error box:
failed to chmod file: busy box
then shows a popup that sees my device, i choosed it
then error box :
failed to chmod file: rootutility
then eror box :
failed to get shell root
Can you help ?
i sthere a pre-rooted ftf for the tipo that i can just flash ?
Hello,
Well, UnlockRoot isn't the only tool out there... You have Doomlord's, the one from Bin4y, Framaroot, SRSroot etc. One of those should work. Plus, there are probably a lot of threads where this is discussed. Try to use Google or XDA-search, and I promise you that magic will happen
Success, and have a nice day.

if unlockrot did not pop out the option to choose your phone that means adb drivers may not be properly installed.
install them again and try.
you can also try doomlord's toolkit.

HTC ONE S is dead - how to save data?

hello everyone.. i have a htc one s ..
3 days ago it just went off with enough battery for no reason and it is not possible to switch it back on.. also power und volume buttons dont work and the screen always stays black .. i charged it for over a day and still completely dad..
when i connect it to the pc, i hear the sound of a new connection, but i think that it is just charging.. i see qhsusb_dload in the device manager the phone was never rooted or anything like that .. i just want to get my data back .. especially the photos on it.. would it also be possible to open the phone and get the sd card out or isn't there such a card? is there any chance to get the data out .. i already bought a new phone but i really would love to get all the photos back which havent been backed up for a year
thank you all in advance!

that its just a idea... maybe work maybe not . you follow the instructions very carefully?
Yes. I did it just like the instructions and at the end it said qdl reset
but it is still not possible to bring the device back to life ..
is it somehow possible to save the data? i read about opening the HOS and unplug the battery.. would you think that this could help? or is there any other chance?

Really i dont know my friend . I dont think the one s have a sd internal.. so i dont know how to save data... The only way is turning on the phone
anyone else?
when i connect it to the pc it is shown in the device manager as "unknown device" .. so it really looks like it has left the qhsusb_dload mode.. but still no chance to get access to the data or to switch it back on
