I give up. Click on the recovery howto in my signature and flash custom recovery. After that, flash a rooted ROM. If you dislike this advice, then kindly search harder. People generally get irritated when then are answering the same questions 10 times a day because people are too lazy.
superoneclick (gingerbreak exploit) work for me on stock V20c, check this thread:

Hi guys, regarding the problem about rooting the original GB, it can be done, and it's not that complicated.
First of all there are a couple of things that you have to consider before starting to root.
1. Be sure that you have installed the original V20G GB ROM.
2. if you have it installed and tried different methods to root on it do a factory reset before trying this one.
3. Be absolutely sure that you have all the drives installed when working with the phone in USB debugging mode, if not install them.
4. Download SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse, after download extract the files into a folder with the same name as the archive.
5. After you extracted the files, go to C:\Windows\System32 and copy the cmd.exe to the folder where you extracted the files, in my case C:\Users\myuser\Desktop\SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse\ADB.
6. Connect the phone to the PC with Debugging mode (Enter the phone settings menu, to the Development and tick the USB debugging mode)
7. right click on cmd.exe from the ADB folder, Run as administrator, than write:
adb devices (after this command you should see your device id)
adb shell
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf,
Do not close the window, live it like that.
8. Start SuperOneClick.exe, leave the settings to the SuperOneClick as they are when it opens, click on ROOT and wait, it will say Starting ADB server..., than it will do it's job and than it will appear Waiting for device... it will say ok and that if it freezes while running psneuter do the following:
a. Turn USB Debugging OFF wait until it will appear in the window again Starting ADB server..., after that,
b. Turn USB Debugging ON, and after this trick it will start rooting.
This is the method that i did twice and it worked like a charm.
After this it will ask you to reboot the phone, DO NOT FORGET, and after the reboot click on the SuperUser icon in the phone's menu. it will aks you if you allow or deny it's access. click allow. After this you must connect to the internet via Wireless or a apn, click on the superuser icon again if you exit it, go to settings, scroll down and you will see Su Binary v.XXXX, click on that to update it, than go to market and search the super user app and update it. Also update busybox. After this you have root access and you can install a custom recovery. Also you can install your preferred Kernel if you don't like the stock one.
If you do not get the Allow Deny message the root was not completed successfully. do a factory reset and try again the same steps.
see images attached as proof.
Well, I installed V20 C via doktornotor method but couldn root it by flashing the signed su binary via recovery.
So I tried the above mentioned method and it worked. But every time the Superuser Force closes and its too buggy.. Any solutions. ?
Yes, same here, i tried doktornotor's method both 20C and 20G and didnt work, this Super1click works but su force closes everytime Any ideeas??
====================EDIT============================
I managed to root gingerbread with doktornotor's method V20g
Just use his image, BUT dont use su-2.3.6.3-cd-signed.zip
Download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110733 su-2.3.6.2-efgh-signed.zip and install it wia clockworkmod recovery zip installer and works like a charm
omfg! plz make Zroot for 2.3.3

Should I type the comma at the end on cmd? Can you please explain what exactly the above command does? Does it create the above file on the above filepath on device? If I typed both
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
and
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf,
should I erase one of these files?
Without comma.

Hi i'm having a problem trying to get my evo shift Perm Rooted. There's like 4 different guides that i've found on how To root an Evo or even more specifically the Shift. I've followed all these guides and still no luck.
I already have my phone Temp Rooted through VISIONary, my problem happens when I have to go to the CMB (Command Prompt)
8. Next, Open the command prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd") and paste the following...
Code:
cd C:\AndroidSDK\platform-tools
Hit enter, and type the following...
Code:
adb
If adb runs you're golden. Type this...
Code:
adb shell
Hit enter, you will see this...
Code:
$
Now type...
Code:
su
I make it to where I need to type in adb shell and what it says is adb server is out of date. killing... *daemon started successfully*
Then it shows the $ sign.
What i'm supposed to do now is type su
Then when I do it says su: permission denied
This is where i'm lost at. I followed everybody's instructions perfectly but cant move on till I get pass this... Can anyone help me please?
Thank you
What Android version are you on?
2.2 ?
2.3.3 ?
2.3.4 ?
Check the permissions under properties of adb.exe (right-click adb.exe and select properties) in your sdk/platform-tools folder. Make sure it is allowed to run as a program.

NO DO NOT UPGRADE!!! If your on 2.2 it's very easy. Just download and use THIS TOOL. It will do it all for you. Just connect the device via USB Cable, and choose charge only. Extract the Zip file that you downloaded onto your desktop, and run the program. Then click the ROOT Button. Make sure your Anti-Virus and Firewall are disabled before you start. Then just follow the Prompts. When it's all done go to the Play Store ( Android Market ) download Rom Manager Free. Open up Rom Manager follow the prompts to Flash CWM Recovery. That's it your Rooted with a Custom Recovery.

You need adb working... In order for adb to work you need to have android debugging checked under Settings > Applications > Development on your phone. It's not enabled by default on Sense roms so you'll need to make sure it's enabled and turned on.

All good about asking questions. When the message pops up asking for SuperUser Permission, you have to click yes. Otherwise it will not run.
I ended up factory restoring my phone and followed a youtube video for the same exact guide that you told me to use. I followed it step by step and now my phone works perfect. I appreciate all the help.
Instead of me creating a new post, can you recommend a good guide for me to flash my shift to boost mobile?

This tool will root your device based on my qemu local.prop root method.
Just download and unzip everything into a directory; then run RootQemu.bat from that directory (if you do not currently have the device drivers for your device, they are attached to this post, please install them, please use them to install your device before attempting the process).
A video with how to do this is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31728742
Neither ADB nor the SDK need to be installed as all needed files are included in the attachments below (though it won't hurt anything if they are).

Hi sparkym3!
Thanks for your tools!
I love your tools in TF300 and TF700!
One questions about TF300, do you know anything about the APX mode and useful tools in APX mode?

Hello, sparkym3!
Is there some mistake in the tool? Both the step 3 and step 5 are the same...
Code:
Step3:Checking for access...
type isroot | adb shell | find "#"
if %errorlevel% == 1 goto NOTROOT
Code:
Step5:Checking superuser...
type isroot | adb shell | find "#"
if %errorlevel% == 1 goto NOTROOT
Click to collapse
Both of those lines are checking for the "#" instead of the "$" to ensure that it has root access.

I picked up the downloads for the Qmenuroot. Installed the ADB drivers referred to in the OP. In my Win7 system's devices manager, I see the ADB driver for the Kindle Fire HD listed as working correctly. Also, the USB driver is in & working, and I can transfer files to/from the kindle. (though I had to re-install the USB driver after I installed the ADB driver)
The problem now is that when I type "ADB devices", it tells me that there are no devices available. Unplug/plug in the USB connection, wait for a bit, "ADB kill-server", "ADB devices" and still no devices available. I have a CMD prompt open in the correct directory. Tried rebooting the kindle, unplug/plug in the USB connector, all kinds of combinations.
I'd like to root this, in anticipation of a JB build for it, (or even ICS) but without ADB, I don't see how.
Has anyone had an issue like this that they have solved? I haven't mastered ADB in any sense, though I've used it to good effect before to un-brick my TF101.
TIA;
Patrick

got it. My file,
"C:\Users\<your username>\.android\adb_usb.ini"
now hjas the line in it,
"# ANDROID 3RD PARTY USB VENDOR ID LIST -- DO NOT EDIT.
# USE 'android update adb' TO GENERATE.
# 1 USB VENDOR ID PER LINE.
0x1949"
And that allowed ADB to see the KFHD7

Interesting, I don't even have that file. I assume it is used to block devices so you could have one plug in for charging and ADB would just ignore it if it is not in the list.
Thanks, sparkym3
After I verified that ADB could see the KFHD7, I ran the 'RootQemu.bat' that was part of what you published. While it took a bit of time (about 1 minute) between reboots, it worked flawlessly. The Kindle Fire HD 7" I have is now rooted. I'll be looking next to replace the launcher, (probably Apex) and scrape the ads off of this.

Thanks
Thank you so much for this... really makes it easy and fast. However i was worried during the installation haha my device kept rebooting and it warning me to reconnect so i thought i was doing it wrong.
Well it seems that I messed up. Big time.
I got to step 3, and that's where all hell breaks loose. I get message on the cmd window which reads Cannot find specified file, and everything goes downhill from there. There's no more updating whatsoever. But that's not the bad part, I tried messing around with my kindle, and everything is now incredibly slow. The lag is unbearably bad. I'm in process of resetting everything to factory default at this moment.
EDIT: Just reset to factory default, everything is smooth again, but be careful when trying this exploit, things can go wrong!
I'm thinking there was something I did wrong, if this seems unfamiliar I'll list the steps I took in trying to manage everything. But I know you're thinking I did this on impulse, hence my low post count, but I have been lurking the kfhd subforum for a very long time now and have tried my best to educate myself. Sorry.

That’s the result of the entry in /data/local.prop. If you remove that file and reboot, it will fix the lag.
I tried running the tool and it kept getting hung up on step 3, telling me something along the lines of file not found. I was able to root using the manual method though.

I suppose my method fixed it regardless
I'm thinking the reason my root backfired is because I wasn't as systematic as I should have been. Rooting my samsung vibrant allowed me to be a little more sloppy since there are backups and flashing is a cinch.
EDIT: This my 3rd time trying to get this thing to work, I get stuck on Step 3 "The system cannot find the file specified."
I really can't see how I'm managing to screw up this badly. Must be something stupid on my part.
EDIT2: Turns out I was using a crumby network directory the whole time, but even still it did not work. Fellows: Put the QemuRoot folder somewhere on your desktop, it's easier there. But after that the prompt would close immediately after step 4, so that took me a while to circumvent. Anyway, I ended up skipping to step 4 to get the superuser to work. I'm fairly sure everything DOES work, but it's hard to test right now.

KF HD has Superuser but no root access

This tool will root your device based on my qemu local.prop root method.
Just download and unzip everything into a directory; then run RootQemu.bat from that directory (if you do not currently have the device drivers for your device, they are attached to this post, please install them, please use them to install your device before attempting the process).
A video with how to do this is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31728742
Neither ADB nor the SDK need to be installed as all needed files are included in the attachments below (though it won't hurt anything if they are).
Helpful tip:
Make sure no other Android device is connected to your PC

Hi sparkym3
Thanks for all your hard work! I tried it though and it went through all the motions as if it was doing its job, like expected. But at the end of the rooting, I have superuser on the kf HD but no root access! ES explorer and Titanium have no root access. Tried rebooting several times. Still no root access. What could have gone wrong?
Cheers, mate!
After lots of hard work by a great team of people (listed at the end), we have finally made a working Root for the Acer Iconia Tab A110.
Warning:

tablet are responsible for any damage you may cause to your device.
*If you brick your device, we are not to blame.

for any damage you cause to your device and the device accessories.
ACER ICONIA TAB A110 ROOT GUIDE 4.1.2
UPDATED NOVEMBER 13, 2013; Most Recent Version
You will need to download/install the following before starting:
Acer Iconia Tab A110 USB Drivers (Should install on first connect of tablet)
Android SDK
SuperSU
a110-412-CWM-recovery.img Mirror: a110-412-CWM-recovery.img mirror
___________________________________________________________________________
Once downloaded, extract the Android SDK to a known location, such as the Desktop. (Use an extracting application such as Winrar)
Next, install the Nexus 7 Toolkit.
___________________________________________________________________________
Once that is complete, you can begin the rooting process.
On your device go to:
Code:
Settings > Developer Option
Turn Developer Options on at the top, and enable USB debugging.
Navigate to your Android SDK folder:
Code:
adt-bundle-windows-x86_x64\sdk\platform-tools
Copy and paste the recovery file in this directory, and copy the SuperSU files to the Tablet's SD Card. This will make the process easier later.
___________________________________________________________________________
Bootloader unlock:
The next step will wipe all your data. Remember to create a backup of anything you want to keep before attempting this.
Open a command promt (CMD) window in the directory above by holding shift while right clicking in the window and selecting "Open Command Window Here."
Type in CMD:
Code:
adb devices
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Wait for the tablet to load into the bootloader, then type:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Accept on the tablet via volume and power buttons.
Your bootloader should now be unlocked.
___________________________________________________________________________
Root:
Type:
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Wait for it to reboot, once again.
Next, type:
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot boot a110-412-CWM-recovery.img
Wait for the "OK" notification.
___________________________________________________________________________
Now, you will be booted into the custom recovery.
Right click on the Acer A110, and select install driver. Choose to point to your own path, and point it at the path for the Nexus 7 Toolkit install. (Make sure you have include subfolders checked)
Now, the device should be recognized and the root can continue.[/Code]
___________________________________________________________________________
On the device, use the volume buttons to navigate and power button to choose.
Select Install from SD.
Now type:
Navigate to the CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip file.
You should receive a complete message.
Once that is complete, on the tablet, navigate to reboot, select yes at the prompt, and the tablet will reboot.
You are now successfully rooted on 4.1.2!

I am a newbie to android. could anybody tell me how to perfrom full system backup for acer a110 4.1.2?
There is currently no way to make a full nandroid. However, if you want to back up the contents such as apps and data, use an app like my backup pro or titanium backup.
Make sure that it saves on external SD, not internal or you'll lose everything.

How did you try unlocking the bootloader?
after you type "fastboot oem unlock" look at your tab and use the buttons to select it. It gives you about 10 seconds until it reboots back to the bootloader
Oh and I can't get the sideload to kick in. I put in "CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip" but it doesn't do anything.
Im wondering if I can push it over using adb install bc adb sideload isn't working?
Thanks

Yes i am having the same problem, mine does not see a110 but refers to google galaxy nexus adb interface. I have tried this about half a dozen times with the same result, no root. Oh well try try again. Do i need to factory restore after each failed attempt?
No Root....

Install the google drivers... I do the sideload of su and it looks like works.... but not root... I am not sure why... Everything looks good... I am unlocked... the recovery image loads well... I replace the drivers..... I sideload.... no root.... So strange.... I guess I should just be happy it is not bricked .. .lol... Thanks for the work... Oh well... I am not looking for help... just making you aware.... thanks for all the work though...

Exactly the same results as the previous guys, every step appears successful, including sideload, but no SU after reboot. My Firmware has WW in name.
Only messages seen during sideload which imply errors are E: can't mount /cache/recovery/log etc etc.
Anyone any idea what may be wrong?
