Hello Friends,
Currently I am using a SMS service in order to get special notifications on my mobile from my PC. for ex: I get a SMS when a user enters wrong password three times, Windows alerts and logs. It's all done by using a trigger on the database the application reads the row and sends it by SMS. I was wondering if there is any application that can be configured on my PC, reads what I want from a database, logs, errors etc... and sends them to an application on my mobile as a push notification.
Can anyone help with this?
Regards,

short description of the problem:
sending of emails would fail whilst you could receive emails.
I had the same problem. It can work normally for weeks and suddenly stop and again eventually start working again....
Applying this patch will fix this. I tested it and it works
Overview from microsoft.com
Overview
This behavior is associated with a feature that was introduced in Windows Mobile 6.1. It provides a way for users to send e-mail through an alternate outbound e-mail server provided by their mobile operator in the event that the default outbound e-mail server becomes inaccessible.
The problem occurs if a mobile operator doesn't use this feature, and therefore doesn't supply a value for the alternate SMTP address. When the mobile device fails on any attempt to connect to the e-mail provider's default SMTP server, Windows Mobile 6.1 automatically loads the value for the alternate SMTP server—which in this case is blank. The e-mail account configuration details are then corrupted, which results in loss of the ability to send e-mail with that particular e-mail account.
With this fix, the feature is patched to ensure that Windows Mobile 6.1 takes appropriate action when it detects a blank value for the Alternate SMTP server.
Note: After you apply this hot fix to your mobile device, the messages that have been sitting in the Outbox folder of your affected POP and IMAP e-mail account(s) will be sent. Since these messages could be out of date, you might not want to send them now. You can keep these messages from being sent by navigating to the Outbox folder of these accounts, and then either delete them, or move them to another folder. On Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices, you can access account folders by tapping the folder drop-down located in the upper left portion of the message list. On Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard devices, you can access account folders by pressing the Menu soft key, and then selecting Folders.

Mine did the exact same thing after I was prompted if I wanted to run it.
Go check your add/remove programs and see if the KB is listed there; on mine it was after the first reboot. Maybe the installation only takes a second and soft resets right away?
i think it was intended to do this..
microsoft always wants you to reboot your device/pc after updating..
my also soft-reset but afterwards the problem was gone
I tried to install the CAB file, but I get this error.
This update cannot be installed on this version of Windows Mobile. Current: 6.1 AKU 1.5.0.0 Build 20273 Platform 2
Anyone knows what the problem is? Thanks!
Anyone actually have this work? I've been having this problem since day one... I hard reset today and installed the hotfix immediately and it still happens. 1st email using imap on gmail will go through, the next will fail and that's the end of it. I have to delete the account and re-create to get one more email through before it starts failing again.
I have already tried this patch and still cannot send email, the error says something about making sure my user information is correct and try again.
I am thinking that it is my email client (AKO..military) that will not allow sending from imap/pop in order to keep tabs on security.

I am also facing the same issue. did u get it resolved?
Make sure your carrier doesnt have a different SMTP setting for mobile phones. Some do some dont.
I have this issue on my laptop, when i tried to send from my home internet i can not use and SMTP for a specific account, but at work I can. When we investigated it, we found that our work internet connection allows various SMTP's all on the same service, but on our home we could only use the home SMTP. BOth internet connections are on the same ISP it was jsut a setting they have for work and home connections that we had to work around. It might have some of the same issues on mobiles.
Did anyone managed to get it resolved? I have this patch installed but still cannot send email. There is no SMTP problem, I just can't send it :/
The only way I've ever been able to resolve it is to delete the account, and then created it again.
I've had the same problem.
I tried the microsoft patch AND it didn't work!
I can receive email but cannot send it.
When we changed our ISP at work from Orange to TalkTalk we couldn't send anymore using our Orange SMTP, apparently, when you send email, you can only send through your Internet Access Provider's outbound (SMTP) mail server.
So I tried the same with my v1615
Instead of using smtp.talktalkbusiness.net, I changed it to send.vodafone.net (I'm on vodafone obviously) and it works! (so far)
Possibly, you may be able to find your networks smtp?
Does anyone know of any apps that allow you to send and receive text messages through your phone with your computer? I know that PDA Net has the ability but it isn't compatible with Mac OSX. I am looking for something dedicated to text messages. I know I can do this with a VNC to my phone but that kind of thing is too laggy and slow.
Thanks!
Hi,
The greatest App there is right now is smshare
You have to install this app on your Android phone, and the smshare Extension on your Chrome Browser.
Then you can type your SMS in the Chrome-Extension, and then the SMS will be sent to your phone, which then sends them as normal SMS. No Wifi hassels, and really comfortable and fast.
A new feature of smshare is that your incoming sms can be forwarded to your email account - so you don't even need to touch your phone for communication via SMS.
Another way is to use the Wifi SMS Apps.
On these kind of Apps (like for example RemoteSMS) you have to connect your phone to the same Wlan as your Computer, start the App on the Phone, and then you can log into an Webinterface with your Browser and compose the SMS there which then are sent from your phone.
The problem with smshare is that it uses a third party server so if privacy is a concern, then remotesms is much better. I use remotesms and u can actually connect via WLAN, usb or Bluetooth and it's a direct connection so no privacy concerns. Works brilliantly.
Much thanks for both of your for your replies. This is exactly what I was looking for!
SMS2PC gets my vote. Lovely simple interface!
Since this morning, I can't send any more text messages on my htc HD7
Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?
Totally my fault, problem has been fixed.

You are right.
I once encountered such can't sent message problem. It was because of poor signal. I cannot make phone calls at that time either.
My carrier made it impossible for me to send text messages. It was a mistake on their behalf and the problem got fixed.
I have the same problem, I have some clues but not the answer. I only can’t send a sms/text if I create / enter the mobile no from my Windows Live account!
In the below tests I am using the same mobile no
Test 1
I create a new contact on my Windows Live account (web browser) and enter a mobile no, I sync my phone with Hotmail and the new contact appears on the phone. When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again"
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 2
I create a new contact on my PC using Outlook, and enter a mobile no, (I have the Hotmail plugin) , I send/receive from outlook. I sync my phone with Hotmail and the new contact appears on the phone. When I send an sms it goes through fine.
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 3
I create a new contact on my phone and enter a mobile no. When I send an sms it goes through fine.
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 4
As no Test 1 Windows Live account, sync with phone When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again". Now edit phone and delete mobile no, re-enter mobile no on phone. When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again"
So conclusion
Its not the phone number format, but must be something in the contact information that Windows Live creates. Any ideas please.
I Have HTC Mozart, with Mango and using O2 (Uk)

Sent from my PI39100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Hey everyone. I have a Samsung SCH-i760 cell phone, and I have an annoying habit of sending blank text messages to people. I.E. I hit send before I've typed anything. Is there some way for Windows Mobile to inform me, something like Gmail's popup telling me I haven't entered any text? An application, maybe a hack?
Thanks!
All,
First of all: I am running android 4.1.2 on a Samsung S3 mini device.
I am trying to find a way to transfer/save incoming email messages into the SMS inbox folder.
Why? When connected with bluetooth to my car I can read out the SMS folder on my central car display. But there is no way to tweak the car radio to read also other folders... So I would like to be able to transfer the emails into the SMS inbox folder so I could also read them in the car without picking up the Phone.
Any suggestions?
You would have to get your email account to forward the messages to you in a SMS message. As there is no way to just transfer emails to your SMS folder (they communicate using different paths), you can probably set your email to "text" you whenever you get an email message, though I do not know if there are any email services that do this yet.
