[Q] Transfer email to sms folder - General Questions and Answers

All,
First of all: I am running android 4.1.2 on a Samsung S3 mini device.
I am trying to find a way to transfer/save incoming email messages into the SMS inbox folder.
Why? When connected with bluetooth to my car I can read out the SMS folder on my central car display. But there is no way to tweak the car radio to read also other folders... So I would like to be able to transfer the emails into the SMS inbox folder so I could also read them in the car without picking up the Phone.
Any suggestions?

You would have to get your email account to forward the messages to you in a SMS message. As there is no way to just transfer emails to your SMS folder (they communicate using different paths), you can probably set your email to "text" you whenever you get an email message, though I do not know if there are any email services that do this yet.

Outlook emails getting attached to text messages!?!?

This is really going to get me in trouble at some point, I can just tell...
More than a few times in the past few weeks, I've sent a simple SMS message, only to get a call from the recipient saying something like "Dude, what the heck was all that about?" - because after my text in the message, it has inserted text from a WORK email in my outlook account! Usually these are deleted emails no less - and by deleted I mean not even in the deleted items folder.
I've got 3 email accounts set up on my phone. Two are pop accounts that get auto checked every two hours. The one that keeps getting it's emails attached to texts is the "Outlook Email" account, which is "governed" by a program called NotifyLink, which syncs my work emails to my phone across the GPRS network. It's the only way my work will allow mail sync to my phone. It seems to always be this account that the text messages "attach" from...
I've been aware of my cemail.vol file being filled with garbage for awhile now, evidenced by the fact that it's currently 1.26M, and anytime I delete emails (even a TON of them), it does not decrease in size. And yes, I'm also emptying the deleted items folder. But, I don't want to do the fresh cemail.vol trick, becasue I don't want to lose my emails and SMS, and because the one time I DID try it (thankfully having backed up cemail.vol beforehand), it erased my MMS account entirely. I only had Outlook Email and SMS.
So, and sorry for being so long, has anybody else experienced this, or does anybody have any ideas on what's happening and how to STOP it?
Sooner or later I just know it's going to attach a sensitive email in a text to exactly the wrong person...gulp...
Please help, all suggestions/observations/thoughts welcome!!
Thanks,
Sorry, should mention it's a tornado (t-mobile SDA) - duh...

SMS being displayed in Gmail/Hotmail

After shifting to WM6,SOMETIMES my SMS are displyed or moved in the Gmail or the Hotmail folders. It doesn't cause any problem for I receive every mail & sms regardless which folder they're in.
What is the cause & is there any remedy?
One more thing,no matter what settings I set,the Gmail- folders lose their contents once I read the mail, they are not deleted, they just are not displayed in the folders anymore.I have to go to the website if I have to see that mail again. This does not happen with the Hotmail. Why?

HTC S640 (Isis) E-mail receiving problem

I recently purchased an HTCs S640 (I guess it's also called Isis) from Telus with Windows Mobile 6. I seem to have a problem with the built in messaging application receiving emails from my POP3 account which I've set up with a webspace provider that also hosts my website.
The weird part is that I receive messages fine when the phone is synced up to my computer via USB and ActiveSync, but it fails when I'm using Wifi and the phone is disconnected from my computer. Another weird thing is that the phone seems to log into my incoming mail server, looks for changes but doesn't actually download any messages.. and then logs out as if I have no emails... no error messages or anything.. The outgoing mailserver I've set to my ISP's SMTP address and that works fine .. it's just incoming messages I have a problem with.
I've also set up my Gmail account with IMAP which works (except for the known issue of recieving only headers for HTML messages) and my hotmail accounts through Windows Live.
I'm working with my web host to see if there is anything on their end that can be fixed.. but the same setting I am using in HTC's messaging application I am also using on my desktop computer's Outlook and they work fine.
Any suggestions?

SMS Unread Count not updating

Recently, my SMS count has not been updating whenever I get a new SMS. It just stays at 0 all the time. Email counts and Missed Calls still work fine. It's just the SMS. Is there a possible solution for this without a hard reset? I've searched but couldn't find a solution.
Thanks.
What phone/ROM do you have?
Also, have you recently changed/updated/flashed anything, i.e. what has changed on your device which may coincide with you losing your sms count
I'm using an i8000 with kunchai's lite rom. I'm not sure when exactly it started but the last few programs I installed were basically wifi remote access and smsserver (which i uninstalled).
Also, I am now unable to send emails or smses from tmail.exe as well. For sending SMSes I have to use SMS chat. Whenever I try and send a new email, it just redirects me back to the inbox.

Sent SMS sync issue

Hi, just bought a new ATT S7, running 6.01.
For years, i have run SMS Backup + to sync texts to my gmail account. Love it.
On my new S7, this app does not recognize/sync SMS texts sent from the phone. If i use Google now to dictate "send message to xxx saying yyy" ...that text composed that way gets sync'd. But one that is typed or dictated in the messaging app does NOT.
Sent SMS texts are NOT sync'd either using Exchange activesync. Recvd texts sync fine.
I also use MightyText and sent texts from the phone do not show up in the app. If i send a text from the MightyText web app, it usually will sync via SMS Backup +.
I have reached out to both vendors for assistance.
i have changed my keyboard from Samsung kybd to Google keyboard. no luck.
Anyone seeing anything like this?
I turned off "Advanced Messaging" and it seems to take longer to Send the SMS from the phone, and the message will intermittently sync with the various apps (Sms backup +, MightyText.) But not always.
make sure your apn info is correct for SMS / MMS

Click to collapse
Keeping ADV messaging disabled seems to do the trick.
