Recently, my SMS count has not been updating whenever I get a new SMS. It just stays at 0 all the time. Email counts and Missed Calls still work fine. It's just the SMS. Is there a possible solution for this without a hard reset? I've searched but couldn't find a solution.
Thanks.
What phone/ROM do you have?
Also, have you recently changed/updated/flashed anything, i.e. what has changed on your device which may coincide with you losing your sms count
I'm using an i8000 with kunchai's lite rom. I'm not sure when exactly it started but the last few programs I installed were basically wifi remote access and smsserver (which i uninstalled).
Also, I am now unable to send emails or smses from tmail.exe as well. For sending SMSes I have to use SMS chat. Whenever I try and send a new email, it just redirects me back to the inbox.

Hi. My battery discharged and my phone did a hard reset. I have resynced, and everything seem fine, except that my sms / text messaging facility has disappeared. I have even tried restoring an old backup, but to no avail. There is no longer an option to send or receive text messages (sms's). If I go into messages, I only get MMS and Outlook as options (and the pop email account I've set up). I recently installed the latest ROM version 3/10/05 which came out in June. Can anyone help? :?:
Hi all...
I was wondering if people more experienced could help me with a strange problem.
I can't seem to send or receive sms'es. When I send an sms, nothing happens, and the message just sits there in the "Outbox".
When I send an sms to myself (from another phone), the phone WAKES UP, but no message shows up. So obviously the phone is receiving the message but it's not showing up? Maybe it's being blocked somewhere?
I've checked my settings, sms is set to send via GSM and the service center number is correct.
Also to confirm - I've tried hard-reset and the phone received sms'es fine.
But as soon as I reload my backup, it no longer receives/shows the sms'es being received. So something is block the sms from showing up. What program/setting would it be?
After installing slick, palringo, taptapsms, incoming sms not stored
I noticed the day after installing IM client, named slick, palringo and opening tapsms, i cant see my incoming sms after it comes..
it shows the notification 1 message unread, after i open it, i just see the history of sms of the same sender got bold, but only with old message, theres no new sms.. ( cant find the new received sms )
I've reset the phone, unplug the battery, its still the same..
anyone have a clue ?
I used WM 6.1 on my XDA IIs
Thanks.
Forgive me if this has been discussed before; I searched but didn't find anything. I'm using an HTC Fuze, no major changes like a different ROM or anything. After I tried to send an MMS (two pictures in one message) to a contact, it failed to send for whatever reason. The problem that after attempting to send that message, I looked in the conversation thread for that contact, and all of our prior texts (a few thousand) had been seemingly eradicated, except for the failed MMS that I had just tried to send. Looking in my Sent box, all of my texts to that contact are still there, but neither my sent texts nor my received texts from that contact appear in the conversation in my Inbox.
However, if I turn off threaded SMS via Advanced Config, all texts from that contact appear in my Inbox. When I turn threaded SMS back on, they're gone again. I know they're on the phone, but I can't get them to come back to the threaded conversation! I've deleted the failed MMS that caused all of this, but that hasn't seemed to make a difference. Does anyone have a fix for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Bump......
This probably is not a question specific to this device but hoping I can get help. I'm just missing the setting somewhere.
I have the latest version of hangouts. I use it to send and receive SMS messages. The problem is, every SMS message I receive also shows up as an email in gmail. I think it must have been a setting I checked when I first set up the application but Ican't find a way to unset it.
To be clear... I want hangouts for SMS but I do not want any SMS messages going to my gmail.
Any help?

Go to Google Voice settings for Voicemail and Text (https://www.google.com/voice?pli=1#voicemailsettings) and uncheck "Text Forwarding - Forward text messages to my email:"
Hi, just bought a new ATT S7, running 6.01.
For years, i have run SMS Backup + to sync texts to my gmail account. Love it.
On my new S7, this app does not recognize/sync SMS texts sent from the phone. If i use Google now to dictate "send message to xxx saying yyy" ...that text composed that way gets sync'd. But one that is typed or dictated in the messaging app does NOT.
Sent SMS texts are NOT sync'd either using Exchange activesync. Recvd texts sync fine.
I also use MightyText and sent texts from the phone do not show up in the app. If i send a text from the MightyText web app, it usually will sync via SMS Backup +.
I have reached out to both vendors for assistance.
i have changed my keyboard from Samsung kybd to Google keyboard. no luck.
Anyone seeing anything like this?
I turned off "Advanced Messaging" and it seems to take longer to Send the SMS from the phone, and the message will intermittently sync with the various apps (Sms backup +, MightyText.) But not always.
make sure your apn info is correct for SMS / MMS

Keeping ADV messaging disabled seems to do the trick.
