[Need Help] Not able to share 3G Data via "Mobile Network Sharing" - HTC One E8

Hello Members,
I have opted for BSNL (India) 3G service recently and its working okay on HTC One E8 but after turning "Mobile Network Sharing" on, data connection is turned off. I have tried sharing via Wifi Hotspot, USB Tethering but am still unsuccessful in sharing mobile`s data connection with laptop. Any solution for this issue.
Advance thanks!!

You should be able to share normally via Hotspot, if that doesn't work, then maybe BSNL 3G doesn't have the hotspot sharing facility. Try contacting BSNL for support, and find out from them.

Sadly there is no support from BSNL. They don't give support for hotspot sharing. I will try putting other network provider SIM and will share the status.

I'm pretty sure others should work, as Airtel, Vodafone and Docomo works fine for me.

After more experiments i got to know none of the "Data Services" even Edge doesn`t works after activating "Mobile Network Sharing" mode. What can be wrong? Hardware or Software?

I guess you're activating the Portable Wifi hotspot option there, right? Well in that case, it does work. Edge and 3g both work, just create a hotspot as it's supposed to.
So you might try resetting your device. Or elaborate a bit more.
Otherwise I'm afraid it might be a hardware issue. It's not a software issue as they are not on singular devices, and on mine it works flawlessly.

Silver.Shadow Thanks for participating in my issue. I believe its some software issue thus i am hoping this problem to be resolved in LOLLIPOP version. Fingers crossed :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Internet Issues

I just got my Sensation today, unboxed it, but it won't do anything over the internet over wi-fi. I have connected it to my wi-fi router and it says it is connected with 4 bars of signal, but whenever I try to go to a webpage it brings up the Android fault screen saying "Webpage not available", it seems to do the same thing when connected through my pc (having said that, I am less sure my settings are correct for that to work).
I have moved from a Motorola Milestone, which works perfectly on the same network.
Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Cheers,
Dave

the only thing i can personally think is try making sure your router has all the latest drivers.....better yet...try to connect to a different wifi spot to eliminate phone or router. if, with a different known working router it doesn't work, then get worried.
I'm having similar problems. With my Vodafone sim everything works fine, but with my T-Mobile sim (which I want to use until my number is ported), I get 4 bars of HSDPA signal but no data connection and the wi-fi doesn't work.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one. I've just tried it with my T-Mobile sim, and that has the same problems. Will probably try calling vodafone tomorrow or going in store, I hold out more hope of finding someone helpful online though. My experience of store staff is not 100% positive for technical stuff.
WiFi is good on mine although I don't get a 3g signal at all at home. T mobile sim doesn't connect to internet either but hopefully that should be because the internet settings should be changed for t mobile. I'm hoping that any issue we have can be sorted with a new radio.

You'll probably need to add new APN settings for t-mobile, as the Vodafone Sensation only has the vodafone APN.
lol that what i meant. but vodafone should have a better signal that t-mobile its struggling to keep 1 bar. hope this not one of those antenna bugs that my old tytn 2 had
I've not yet tried WiFi but my mobile data is now working fine on T-Mobile with the following APN settings;
Name: TMobile GPRS
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: user
Password: pass
Enter that via the APN option in settings under wireless networks.

It looks like it is a problem with my router / network. I have managed to get wireless working on a different wireless network, so I think I need to play with my router to see if I can get that to work.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Mind you even when you get it working, it will only be an edge connection using that phone in india. There are several apps on the marketplace that can enable tethering; pdanet, easy tether etc etc. Would be your first line to try out, beyond that I would just root and put a custom rom on there that does not have the ATT limitations on the phone, as you are not using att out there. but like i said, best case scenario is going to be a slow connection
Try using wifi hotspot apps. But depending on your carrier you might get a slow connection. Rooting is a great recommendation. I rooted mine and works better than ever

WiFi Calling: REG09 "Missing911 Address" Error

I am using the stock ROM and currently roaming overseas right now and cannot connect to WiFi calling no matter how many networks I try to access. It attempts to connect and then goes from blue to red and says "REG09 "Missing911 Address..." TMO is useless in their effort to resolve this, my 911 address is in my profile, and the same problem is happening on my friend's TMO Galaxy SII.
Anyone have any solutions?
You need to register you physical address with Tmobile. This is required for 911 emergency response calling.
Then try flushing your cache and see if it resets.
My 911 address IS registered and always has been!

I get the same issue using the WiFi at work. I have the address set up and everything but I think it has something to do with the network settings and maybe a certain port being closed or some sort of network restrictions. I think I liked the old WiFi calling app better because it didn't have the requirements this integrated WiFi calling does and it worked on a lot more WiFi networks for me wish that fixed that.

TMO advertises WiFi Calling to be used when roaming to avoid roaming charges, so doubt that is an issue. As for the network, I have tried many networks in several European countries to no avail - including friend's networks that have no potential port blocking like some hotels do for example.

XT1955-4 and WiFi calling in the UK

I have the XT1955-4 (hardware version is PVT1 if that means anything to anyone) and live in the UK but I'm having trouble getting WiFi calling on EE. Both Motorola and EE have told me it should work, but I don't get any indicator that it's enabled and when I try to call a number I get an error telling me to connect to a wireless network, even though I am connected to one and have no issues with Internet connectivity.
I spoke to somebody from EE but he was completely stumped. His best guess was that it's because I'm in the process of transferring my number across via PAC but he admitted he was pretty much guessing.
Does anybody have any idea what's going on?

It is the wifi network issues than phone problem.
The TCP port 500/4500 got blocked on your WiFi network.

It does seem to be a router issue, though as I can use WiFi calling when connected to other routers.

It looks the router issue. (Port 500/4500 traffic traversal issue)
Check the router VPN settings allow VPN/ipsec.,
Or simple reboot the router to clear VPN connection to fix the problem

You're in the right ballpark. It turned out it was because IPsec was enabled in the application-level gateway settings of my Billion 8800NL R2. After disabling it and rebooting I now have WiFi calling.
Thanks for your help.
